Explicit closed algebraic formulas for Orlov-Scherbin $n$-point functions

We derive a new explicit formula in terms of sums over graphs for the $n$-point correlation functions of general formal weighted double Hurwitz numbers coming from the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili tau functions of hypergeometric type (also known as Orlov-Scherbin partition functions). Notably, we use the change of variables suggested by the associated spectral curve, and our formula turns out to be a polynomial expression in a certain small set of formal functions defined on the spectral curve.

Integrable hierarchies associated to infinite families of Frobenius manifolds

We propose a new construction of an integrable hierarchy associated to any infinite series of Frobenius manifolds satisfying a certain stabilization condition. We study these hierarchies for Frobenius manifolds associated to $A_N$, $D_N$ and $B_N$ singularities. In the case of $A_N$ Frobenius manifolds our hierarchy turns out to coincide with the KP hierarchy; for $B_N$ Frobenius manifolds it coincides with the BKP hierarchy; and for $D_N$ hierarchy it is a certain reduction of the 2-component BKP hierarchy. As a side product to these results we illustrate the enumerative meaning of certain coefficients of $A_N$, $D_N$ and $B_N$ Frobenius potentials.

Combinatorics of Bousquet-Mélou-Schaeffer numbers in the light of topological recursion

In this paper we prove, in a purely combinatorial way, a structural quasi-polynomiality property for the Bousquet-Mélou-Schaeffer numbers. Conjecturally, this property should follow from the Chekhov-Eynard-Orantin topological recursion for these numbers (or, to be more precise, the Bouchard-Eynard version of the topological recursion for higher order critical points), which we derive in this paper from the recent result of Alexandrov-Chapuy-Eynard-Harnad. To this end, the missing ingredient is a generalization to the case of higher order critical points on the underlying spectral curve of the existing correspondence between the topological recursion and Givental's theory for cohomological field theories.

NSR superstring measures in genus 5

Currently there are two proposed ansatze for NSR superstring measures: the Grushevsky ansatz and the OPSMY ansatz, which for genera g<=4 are known to coincide. However, neither the Grushevsky nor the OPSMY ansatz leads to a vanishing two point function in genus four, which can be constructed from the genus five expressions for the respective ansatze. This is inconsistent with the known properties of superstring amplitudes. In the present paper we show that the Grushevsky and OPSMY ansatze do not coincide in genus five. Then, by combining these ansatze, we propose a new ansatz for genus five, which now leads to a vanishing two-point function in genus four. We also show that one cannot construct an ansatz from the currently known forms in genus 6 that satisfies all known requirements for superstring measures.

Polynomiality of Hurwitz numbers, Bouchard-Mariño conjecture, and a new proof of the ELSV formula

In this paper we give a new proof of the ELSV formula. First, we refine an argument of Okounkov and Pandharipande in order to prove (quasi-)polynomiality of Hurwitz numbers without using the ELSV formula (the only way to do that before used the ELSV formula). Then, using this polynomiality we give a new proof of the Bouchard-Mariño conjecture. After that, using the correspondence between the Givental group action and the topological recursion coming from matrix models, we prove the equivalence of the Bouchard-Mariño conjecture and the ELSV formula (it is a refinement of an argument by Eynard).

Explicit computation of Drinfeld associator in the case of the fundamental representation of gl(N)

We solve the regularized Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation and find an explicit expression for the Drinfeld associator. We restrict to the case of the fundamental representation of $gl(N)$. Several tests of the results are presented. It can be explicitly seen that components of this solution for the associator coincide with certain components of WZW conformal block for primary fields. We introduce the symmetrized version of the Drinfeld associator by dropping the odd terms. The symmetrized associator gives the same knot invariants, but has a simpler structure and is fully characterized by one symmetric function which we call the Drinfeld prepotential.

Kontsevich integral for knots and Vassiliev invariants

We review quantum field theory approach to the knot theory. Using holomorphic gauge we obtain the Kontsevich integral. It is explained how to calculate Vassiliev invariants and coefficients in Kontsevich integral in a combinatorial way which can be programmed on a computer. We discuss experimental results and temporal gauge considerations which lead to representation of Vassiliev invariants in terms of arrow diagrams. Explicit examples and computational results are presented.

On the Homology of Certain Smooth Covers of Moduli Spaces of Algebraic Curves

We suggest a general method of computation of the homology of certain smooth covers $\hat{\mathcal{M}}_{g,1}(\mathbb{C})$ of moduli spaces $\mathcal{M}_{g,1}\br{\mathbb{C}}$ of pointed curves of genus $g$. Namely, we consider moduli spaces of algebraic curves with level $m$ structures. The method is based on the lifting of the Strebel-Penner stratification $\mathcal{M}_{g,1}\br{\mathbb{C}}$. We apply this method for $g\leq 2$ and obtain Betti numbers; these results are consistent with Penner and Harer-Zagier results on Euler characteristics.

Geometric Hamiltonian Formalism for Reparametrization Invariant Theories with Higher Derivatives

Reparametrization invariant Lagrangian theories with higher derivatives are considered. We investigate the geometric structures behind these theories and construct the Hamiltonian formalism in a geometric way. The Legendre transformation which corresponds to the transition from the Lagrangian formalism to the Hamiltonian formalism is non-trivial in this case. The resulting phase bundle, i.e. the image of the Legendre transformation, is a submanifold of some cotangent bundle. We show that in our construction it is always odd-dimensional. Therefore the canonical symplectic two-form from the ambient cotangent bundle generates on the phase bundle a field of the null-directions of its restriction. It is shown that the integral lines of this field project directly to the extremals of the action on the configuration manifold. Therefore this naturally arising field is what is called the Hamilton field. We also express the corresponding Hamilton equations through the generilized Nambu bracket.
