Traversable ghost wormholes

Ghost stars are compact configurations characterized by an arbitrarily small total mass. Such objects require regions of negative energy density -a condition typically regarded as unphysical within the context of conventional stellar models. Nevertheless, negative energy densities arise naturally in traversable wormhole geometries, where the violation of the null energy condition is essential to sustain the flaring-out behavior at the throat. This connection suggests that ghost-like configurations may find a natural realization within wormhole physics. In this work, we investigate the existence of ghost configurations by analyzing their associated Hawking mass. Although in spherical symmetry the Misner and Hawking masses are known to coincide, we show that when the ghost condition is extended beyond spherical symmetry and applied to the Hawking mass, it faces topological obstructions that hinder its straightforward realization. As a concrete example, we demonstrate that a Casimir-like traversable wormhole can be naturally constructed within this framework. Finally, to illustrate the properties of the resulting geometry, we analyze its Penrose-Carter diagram.

$2+1$ Einstein-Klein-Gordon black holes by gravitational decoupling

In this work we study the 2+1 Einstein-Klein-Gordon system in the framework of Gravitational Decoupling. We associate the generic matter decoupling sector with a real scalar field so we can obtain a constraint which allows to close the system of differential equations. The constraint corresponds to a differential equation involving the decoupling functions and the metric of the seed sector and will be independent of the scalar field itself. We show that when the equation admits analytical solutions, the scalar field and the self-interacting potential can be obtained straightforwardly. We found that, in the cases under consideration, it is possible to express the potential as an explicit function of the scalar field only for certain particular cases corresponding to limiting values of the parameters involved.

Four dimensional Einstein-power-Maxwell black hole solutions in scale-dependent gravity

In the present work, we extend and generalize our previous work regarding the scale dependence applied to black holes in the presence of non-linear electrodynamics [1]. The starting point for this study is the Einstein-power-Maxwell theory with a vanishing cosmological constant in (3+1) dimensions, assuming a scale dependence of both the gravitational and the electromagnetic coupling. We further examine the corresponding thermodynamic properties and how these quantities experience deviations from their classical counterparts. We solve the effective Einstein's field equations using the "null energy condition" to obtain analytical solutions. The implications of quantum corrections are also briefly discussed. Finally, we analyze our solutions and compare them to related results in the literature.

Anisotropic 2+1 dimensional black holes by gravitational decoupling

In the present paper, we analyze the well-known 2+1 dimensional black holes (assuming a non-vanishing cosmological constant) in light of the gravitational decoupling by the minimal geometric deformation approach. To illustrate our results, we consider the BTZ geometry as the seed solution to generate new anisotropic ones. To complement the study, the curvature scalars and the energy conditions are analyzed.

On perturbative constraints for vacuum f(R) gravity

Perturbative techniques are important for modified theories of gravity since they allow to calculate deviations from General Relativity without recurring to exact solutions, which can be difficult to find. When applied to models such as $f(R)$ gravity, these techniques introduce corrections in the field equations that involve higher order derivatives. Such corrections must be handled carefully to have a well defined perturbative scheme, and this can be achieved through the method of perturbative constraints, where the coefficient of the additional term in the action is used as expansion parameter for the quantities of interest. In this work, we implement a perturbative framework that compares solutions in modified theories of gravity with solutions of the Einstein field equations, by following the guidelines of perturbation theory constructed in General Relativity together with the perturbative constraints rationale. By using this formalism, we demonstrate that a consistent $f(R)$ perturbation theory in vacuum, for an important class of $f(R)$ functions, produces no additional effects with respect to what is expected from the perturbation theory of General Relativity. From this result, we argue that there are fundamental limitations that explain why the solutions of some $f(R)$ models can be disconnected from their general relativistic counterparts, in the sense that the limit that leads from the $f(R)$ action to General Relativity does not transform the solutions accordingly.

Effective geometries and generalized uncertainty principle corrections to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy

In this work we construct several black hole metrics which are consistent with the generalized uncertainty principle logarithmic correction to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy formula. After preserving the event horizon at the usual position, a singularity at the Planck scale is found. Finally, these geometries are shown to be realized by certain model of nonlinear electrodynamics, which resembles previously studied regular black hole solutions.

Newtonian Cosmology with a Quantum Bounce

It has been known for some time that the cosmological Friedmann equation deduced from General Relativity can be also obtained within the Newtonian framework under certain assumptions. We use this result together with quantum corrections to the Newtonian potentials to derive a set a of quantum corrected Friedmann equations. We examine the behavior of the solutions of these modified cosmological equations paying special attention to the sign of the quantum corrections. We find different quantum effects crucially depending on this sign. One such a solution displays a qualitative resemblance to other quantum models like Loop Quantum Gravity or non-commutative geometry.

Simple regular black hole with logarithmic entropy correction

A simple regular black hole solution satisfying the weak energy condition is obtained within Einstein--non--linear electrodynamics theory. We have computed the thermodynamic properties of this black hole by a careful analysis of the horizons and we have found that the usual Bekenstein--Hawking entropy gets corrected by a logarithmic term. Therefore, in this sense our model realizes some quantum gravity predictions which add this kind of correction to the black hole entropy. In particular, we have established some similitudes between our model and a quadratic generalized uncertainty principle. This similitude has been confirmed by the existence of a remnant, which prevents complete evaporation, in agreement with the quadratic generalized uncertainty principle case.

Semiclassical corrections to black hole entropy and the generalized uncertainty principle

In this paper, employing the path integral method in the framework of a canonical description of a Schwarzschild black hole, we obtain the corrected inverse temperature and entropy of the black hole. The corrections are those coming from the quantum effects as well as from the Generalized Uncertainty Principle effects. Furthermore, an equivalence between the polymer quantization and the Generalized Uncertainty Principle description is shown provided the parameters characterizing these two descriptions are proportional.

The Generalized Schrödinger-Langevin equation

In this work, we derive a generalization of the so-called Schrödinger-Langevin or Kostin equation for a Brownian particle interacting with a heat bath. This generalization is based on a nonlinear interaction model providing a state-dependent dissipation process exhibiting multiplicative noise. Two straightforward applications to the measurement process are then analyzed, continuous and weak measurements in terms of the quantum Bohmian trajectory formalism. Finally, it is also shown that the generalized uncertainty principle, which appears in some approaches to quantum gravity, can be expressed in terms of this generalized equation

Dissipative and stochastic geometric phase of a qubit within a canonical Langevin framework

Dissipative and stochastic effects in the geometric phase of a qubit are taken into account using a geometrical description of the corresponding open--system dynamics within a canonical Langevin framework based on a Caldeira--Leggett like Hamiltonian. By extending the Hopf fibration $S^{3}\to S^{2}$ to include such effects, the exact geometric phase for a dissipative qubit is obtained, whereas numerical calculations are used to include finite temperature effects on it.
