Opportunities for precision QCD physics in hadronization at Belle II -- a snowmass whitepaper

This document presents a selection of QCD studies accessible to high-precision studies with hadronic final states in $e^+e^-$ collisions at Belle II. The exceptionally clean environment and the state-of-the-art capabilities of the Belle~II detector (including excellent particle identification and improved vertex reconstruction), coupled with an unprecedented data-set size, will make possible to carry out multiple valuable measurements of the strong interaction including hadronic contributions to the muon $(g-2)$ and the QCD coupling, as well as advanced studies of parton hadronization and dynamical quark mass generation.

The eta transition form factor from space- and time-like experimental data

The $η$ transition form factor is analysed for the first time in both space- and time-like regions at low and intermediate energies in a model-independent approach through the use of rational approximants. The $η\rightarrow e^+e^-γ$ experimental data provided by the A2 Collaboration in the very low energy region of the dilelectron invariant mass distribution allows for the extraction of the most precise up-to-date slope and curvature parameters of the form factors as well as their values at zero and infinity. The impact of these new results on the mixing parameters of the $η$-$η^\prime$ system, together with the role played by renormalisation dependent effects, and on the determination of the $VPγ$ couplings from $V\to Pγ$ and $P\to Vγ$ radiative decays are also discussed.

MesonNet 2014 International Workshop. Mini-proceedings

The MesonNet International Workshop was held in the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati from September the 29th to October the 1st, 2014, being the concluding meeting of the MesonNet research network within EU HadronPhysics3 project. MesonNet is a research network focused on light meson physics gathering experimentalist and theoreticians from Europe and abroad. An overview of the research projects related to the scope of the network is presented in these mini-proceedings.

ηand η' transition form factors from rational approximants

The ηand η' transition form factors in the space-like region are analyzed at low and intermediate energies in a model-independent way through the use of rational approximants. The slope and curvature parameters of the form factors as well as their values at zero and infinity are extracted from experimental data. The impact of these results on the mixing parameters of the η-η' system and the pseudoscalar-exchange contributions to the hadronic light-by-light scattering part of the anomalous magnetic moment are also discussed.

Constraining the Hadronic Contributions to the Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment

The mini-proceedings of the Workshop on "Constraining the hadronic contributions to the muon anomalous magnetic moment" which included the "13th meeting of the Radio MonteCarLow WG" and the "Satellite meeting R-Measurements at BES-III" held in Trento from April 10th to 12th, 2013, are presented. This collaboration meeting aims to bring together the experimental e+e- collider communities from BaBar, Belle, BESIII, CMD2, KLOE, and SND, with theorists working in the fields of meson transitions form factors, hadronic contributions to (g-2)_μand effective fine structure constant, and development of Monte Carlo generator and Radiative Corrections for precision e+e- and tau physics.

Supersymmetry with long-lived staus at the LHC

We consider SUSY extensions of the standard model where the gravitino is the dark-matter particle and the stau is long lived. If there is a significant mass gap with squarks and gluinos, the staus produced at hadron colliders tend to be fast (beta>0.8), and the searches based on their delay in the time of flight or their anomalous ionization become less effective. Such staus would be identified as regular muons with the same linear momentum and a slightly reduced energy. Compared to the usual SUSY models where a neutralino is the LSP, this scenario implies (i) more leptons (the two staus at the end of the decay chains), (ii) a strong e-mu asymmetry, and (iii) less missing E_T (just from neutrinos, as the lightest neutralino decays into stau). We study the bounds on this SUSY from current LHC analyses (same-sign dileptons and multilepton events) and discuss the best strategy for its observation.
