Optimal strategies of investment in a linear stochastic model of market

We study the continuous time portfolio optimization model on the market where the mean returns of individual securities or asset categories are linearly dependent on underlying economic factors. We introduce the functional $Q_γ$ featuring the expected earnings yield of portfolio minus a penalty term proportional with a coefficient $γ$ to the variance when we keep the value of the factor levels fixed. The coefficient $γ$ plays the role of a risk-aversion parameter. We find the optimal trading positions that can be obtained as the solution to a maximization problem for $Q_γ$ at any moment of time. The single-factor case is analyzed in more details. We present a simple asset allocation example featuring an interest rate which affects a stock index and also serves as a second investment opportunity. We consider two possibilities: the interest rate for the bank account is governed by Vasicek-type and Cox-Ingersoll-Ross dynamics, respectively. Then we compare our results with the theory of Bielecki and Pliska where the authors employ the methods of the risk-sensitive control theory thereby using an infinite horizon objective featuring the long run expected growth rate, the asymptotic variance, and a risk-aversion parameter similar to $γ$.

Transport and concentration processes in the multidimensional zero-pressure gas dynamics model with the energy conservation law

We introduce integral identities to define delta-shock wave type solutions for the multidimensional zero-pressure gas dynamics Using these integral identities, the Rankine-Hugoniot conditions for delta-shocks are obtained. We derive the balance laws describing mass, momentum, and energy transport from the area outside the delta-shock wave front onto this front. These processes are going on in such a way that the total mass, momentum, and energy are conserved and at the same time mass and energy of the moving delta-shock wave front are increasing quantities. In addition, the total kinetic energy transfers into the total internal energy. The process of propagation of delta-shock waves is also described. These results can be used in modeling of mediums which can be treated as a {pressureless continuum} (dusty gases, two-phase flows with solid particles or droplets, granular gases).

The Riemann problem to the stochastically perturbed non-viscous Burgers equation and the pressureless gas dynamics model

Proceeding from the method of stochastic perturbation of a Langevin system associated with the non-viscous Burgers equation we construct a solution to the Riemann problem for the non-interacting particles and sticky particles systems. We analyze the difference in the behavior of discontinuous solutions for these two models and relations between them.
