The anomalous shift of the weak boson mass and the quintessence electroweak axion

One of the simplest ways to account for the observed W-boson mass shift is to introduce the $SU(2)_L$ triplet Higgs boson with zero hypercharge, whose vacuum expectation value is about 3 GeV. If the triplet is heavy enough at $\mathcal{O}(1)$ TeV, it essentially contributes only to $T$ parameter without any conflict to the observation. The presence of a complex triplet Higgs boson raises the $SU(2)_L$ gauge coupling constant to $α_2(M_{\rm PL} )\simeq 1/44$ at the Planck scale. Thanks to this larger gauge coupling constant, we show that the electroweak axion vacuum energy explains the observed cosmological constant provided that the axion field is located near the hill top of the potential at present.

Axion induced SUSY breaking and focus point gaugino mediation

We consider a scenario where the supersymmetry breaking and its mediation, and the cancellation of the theta parameter of SU(3)c are all caused by a single chiral multiplet. The string axion multiplet is a natural candidate of such a single superfield. We show that the scenario provides a convincing basis of focus point gaugino mediation, where the electroweak scale is explained with a moderate tuning among the parameters of the theory.

Lepton flavor violations in SUSY models for muon $g-2$ with right-handed neutrinos

We consider supersymmetric (SUSY) models for the muon $g-2$ anomaly without flavor violating masses at the tree-level. The models can avoid LHC constraints and the vacuum stability constraint in the stau-Higgs potential. Although large flavor violating processes are not induced within the framework of minimal SUSY standard model, once we adopt a seesaw model, sizable lepton flavor violating (LFV) processes such as $μ\to e γ$ and $μ\to e$ conversion are induced. These LFV processes will be observed at future experiments such as MEG-II, COMET and Mu2e if right-handed neutrinos are heavier than $10^9$ GeV motivated by the successful leptogenesis. This conclusion is somewhat model independent since Higgs doublets are required to have large soft SUSY breaking masses, leading to flavor violations in a slepton sector via neutrino Yukawa interactions.

W boson mass anomaly and grand unification

It is known that the recently reported shift of the W boson mass can be easily explained by an $SU(2)_L$ triplet Higgs boson with a zero hypercharge if it obtains a vacuum expectation value (VEV) of $O(1)$ GeV. Surprisingly, the addition of a TeV scale complex triplet Higgs boson to the standard model (SM) leads to a precise unification of the gauge couplings at around $10^{14}$ GeV. We consider that it is a consequence of $SU(5)$ grand unification and show a possible potential for the Higgs fields yielding a weak scale complex $SU(2)$ triplet scalar boson. Although it seems the proton decay constraint would doom such a low-scale unification, we show that the constraint can be avoided by introducing vector-like fermions which mix with the SM fermions through mass terms involving the VEV of GUT breaking Higgs field. Importantly, the simplest viable model only requires the addition of one pair of vector-like fermions transforming ${\bf 10}$ and $\overline{\bf 10}$.

A Model of Interacting Dark Matter and Dark Radiation for $H_{0}$ and $σ_{8}$ Tensions

We present a model describing the dark sector (DS) featured by two interactions remaining efficient until late times in the matter-dominated era after recombination: the interaction among dark radiations (DR), and the interaction between a small fraction of dark matter and dark radiation. The dark sector consists of (1) a dominant component cold collisionless DM (DM1), (2) a sub-dominant cold DM (DM2) and (3) a self-interacting DR. When a sufficient amount of DR is ensured and a few percent of the total DM density is contributed by DM2 interacting with DR, this set-up is known to be able to resolve both the Hubble and $σ_{8}$ tension. In light of this, we propose a scenario which is logically natural and has an intriguing theoretical structure with a hidden unbroken gauge group ${\rm SU}(5)_{\rm X}\otimes {\rm U}(1)_{\rm X}$. Our model of the dark sector does not introduce any new scalar field, but contains only massless chiral fermions and gauge fields in the ultraviolet (UV) regime. As such, it introduces a new scale (DM2 mass, $m_{\rm DM2}$) based on the confinement resulting from the strong dynamics of ${\rm SU}(5)_{\rm X}$. Both DM2-DR and DR-DR interactions are attributed to an identical long range interaction of ${\rm U}(1)_{\rm X}$. We show that our model can address the cosmological tensions when it is characterized by $g_{\rm X}=\mathcal{O}(10^{-3})-\mathcal{O}(10^{-2})$, $m_{\rm DM2}=\mathcal{O}(1)-\mathcal{O}(100){\rm GeV}$ and $T_{\rm DS}/T_{\rm SM}\simeq0.3-0.4$ where $g_{\rm X}$ is the gauge coupling of ${\rm U}(1)_{\rm X}$ and $T_{\rm DS}$ ($T_{\rm SM}$) is a temperature of the DS (Standard Model sector). Our model explains candidates of DM2 and DR, and DM1 can be any kind of CDM.

Dark Photon Dark Matter in the minimal $B-L$ Model

The extension of the Standard model (SM) with three heavy right handed neutrinos, a complex scalar and the gauged $U(1)_{\rm B-L}$ symmetry (the minimal $B-L$ model) is considered the most compelling minimal one: the presence and the out-of-equilibrium decay of the heavy right handed neutrinos can account for the small masses of the active neutrinos and the baryon asymmetry of the universe. A natural accompanying question concerns whether the minimal $B-L$ model can naturally accommodate an interesting dark matter (DM) candidate. We study the possibility where the current DM population is explained by the gauge boson of $U(1)_{\rm B-L}$ symmetry. We discuss how the minimal set-up originally aimed at the seesaw mechanism and the leptogenesis is connected to conditions making the gauge boson promoted to a DM candidate.

Muon $g-2$ in Higgs-anomaly mediation

A simple model for the explanation of the muon anomalous magnetic moment was proposed by the present authors within the context of the minimal supersymmetric standard model [1607.05705, 1608.06618]: "Higgs-anomaly mediation". In the setup, squarks, sleptons, and gauginos are massless at tree-level, but the Higgs doublets get large negative soft supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking masses squared $m_{H_u}^2 \simeq m_{H_d}^2 < 0$ at a certain energy scale, $M_{\rm inp}$. The sfermion masses are radiatively generated by anomaly mediation and Higgs-loop effects, and gaugino masses are solely determined by anomaly mediation. Consequently, the smuons and bino are light enough to explain the muon $g-2$ anomaly while the third generation sfermions are heavy enough to explain the observed Higgs boson mass. The scenario avoids the SUSY flavor problem as well as various cosmological problems, and is consistent with the radiative electroweak symmetry breaking. In this paper, we show that, although the muon $g-2$ explanation in originally proposed Higgs-anomaly mediation with $M_{\rm inp}\sim 10^{16}\,$GeV is slightly disfavored by the latest LHC data, the muon $g-2$ can still be explained at $1σ$ level when Higgs mediation becomes important at the intermediate scale, $M_{\rm inp} \sim 10^{12}\,$GeV. The scenario predicts light SUSY particles that can be fully covered by the LHC and future collider experiments. We also provide a simple realization of $m_{H_u}^2 \simeq m_{H_d}^2 < 0$ at the intermediate scale.

Proton Decay and Axion Dark Matter in SO(10) Grand Unification via Minimal Left-Right Symmetry

We study the proton lifetime in the $SO(10)$ Grand Unified Theory (GUT), which has the left-right (LR) symmetric gauge theory below the GUT scale. In particular, we focus on the minimal model without the bi-doublet Higgs field in the LR symmetric model, which predicts the LR-breaking scale at around $10^{10\text{--}12}$ GeV. The Wilson coefficients of the proton decay operators turn out to be considerably larger than those in the minimal $SU(5)$ GUT model especially when the Standard Model Yukawa interactions are generated by integrating out extra vector-like multiplets. As a result, we find that the proton lifetime can be within the reach of the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment even when the GUT gauge boson mass is in the $10^{16\text{--}17}$ GeV range. We also show that the mass of the extra vector-like multiplets can be generated by the Peccei-Quinn symmetry breaking in a consistent way with the axion dark matter scenario.

Bino-wino coannihilation as a prediction in the $E_7$ unification of families

We study the phenomenological consequences of the supersymmetric (SUSY) $E_7/SU(5)\times U(1)^3$ non-linear sigma model coupled to supergravity, where the three generations of quark and lepton chiral multiplets appear as (pseudo) Nambu Goldstone (NG) multiplets, that is, the origin of the three families is explained. To break SUSY, we introduce a SUSY breaking field charged under some symmetry avoiding the Polonyi problem. The gaugino mass spectrum is almost uniquely determined when one requires the electroweak vacuum to be (meta)stable: it would be a miracle that the mass difference between the bino and wino turns out to be within $O(1)\%$ at the low energy. Thus, a bino-wino coannihilation is naturally predicted, which can explain the correct relic abundance of dark matter. Moreover, we find that the bottom-tau Yukawa couplings and the gauge couplings are unified up to $O(1)\%$ in most of the viable region. This scenario can be fully tested at the LHC and future collider experiments since the gauginos and some of the pseudo-NG bosons are light. An axion-like multiplet, which can be identified with the QCD axion, is also predicted.

Flavor-Safe Light Squarks in Higgs-Anomaly Mediation

We consider a simple setup with light squarks which is free from the gravitino and SUSY flavor problems. In our setup, a SUSY breaking sector is sequestered from the matter and gauge sectors, and it only couples to the Higgs sector directly with $\mathcal{O}(100)\,$TeV gravitino. Resulting mass spectra of sfermions are split: the first and second generation sfermions are light as $\mathcal{O}(1)\,$TeV while the third generation sfermions are heavy as $\mathcal{O}(10)\,$TeV. The light squarks of $\mathcal{O}(1)\,$TeV can be searched at the (high-luminosity) LHC and future collider experiments. Our scenario can naturally avoid too large flavor-changing neutral currents and it is consistent with the $ε_K$ constraint. Moreover, there are regions explaining the muon $g-2$ anomaly and bottom-tau/top-bottom-tau Yukawa coupling unification simultaneously.

Diphoton excess from hidden U(1) gauge symmetry with large kinetic mixing

We show that the 750 GeV diphoton excess can be explained by introducing vector-like quarks and hidden fermions charged under a hidden U(1) gauge symmetry, which has a relatively large coupling constant as well as a significant kinetic mixing with U(1)$_Y$. With the large kinetic mixing, the standard model gauge couplings unify around $10^{17}$ GeV, suggesting the grand unified theory without too rapid proton decay. Our scenario predicts events with a photon and missing transverse momentum, and its cross section is related to that for the diphoton excess through the kinetic mixing. We also discuss other possible collider signatures and cosmology, including various ways to evade constraints on exotic stable charged particles. In some cases where the 750 GeV diphoton excess is due to diaxion decays, our scenario also predicts triphoton and tetraphoton signals.

Implications of the 750 GeV Diphoton Excess in Gaugino Mediation

The 750 GeV diphoton excess reported by ATLAS and CMS indicates the presence of several pairs of the vector-like matter multiplets around TeV scale. If that is the case, radiative corrections from the $SU(3)$ gauge interaction significantly change from those of MSSM, and the infrared-free nature of the gauge interaction leads to characteristic SUSY mass spectra: a ratio of a squark mass to the gluino mass, and scalar trilinear couplings are enhanced at the low-energy scale. Consequently, even in gaugino mediation models, the Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV is explained with the fairly light gluino of 2-3 TeV, which can be accessible at the LHC.

Light Higgsino as the tail of the $μ$-$B_μ$ solution

Gauge mediation predicts 10 TeV or heavier squarks because such a heavy stop is required to explain the observed 125 GeV Higgs boson mass without a large trilinear soft mass term in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. Although such a high scale cannot be searched by the LHC directly, gauge mediation also predicts a hierarchy $μ^2 \ll B_μ$ by a simple and naive solution of the $μ$ problem. We point out that this simple and naive way of generating the $μ$ ($B_μ$) term works in the case of 10 TeV or heavier squarks with a slight breaking of a GUT relation among messenger B-terms (or supersymmetric mass terms). Furthermore, the upper bound on the Higgsino mass is obtained from the observed Higgs boson mass, perturbativity of a relevant coupling, and conditions avoiding tachyonic sneutrinos and stop. It turns out that the light Higgsino of O(100) GeV is a promising signal of gauge mediation.

Low-Scale Gauge Mediation with a 100 TeV Gravitino

We propose a new framework of low-scale gauge-mediated supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking with a gravitino mass of O(100) TeV. The usual 4D gauge mediation models predict a light gravitino and suffer from cosmological problems. In our framework, a heavy gravitino in gauge mediation is realized with a flat extra-dimension, whose compactification scale is around the grand unified theory scale. Superparticle masses of the visible sector from gravity/anomaly mediation are suppressed, and they are purely generated by usual gauge mediation on the visible brane. Importantly, the Higgs Bmu-term vanishes at the leading order, which enables us to obtain the suitable mu-Bmu relation for the electroweak symmetry breaking. We discuss such models considering two possibilities of the SUSY breaking source: 1) Scherk-Schwarz SUSY breaking which we call Scherk-Schwarz Gauge Mediation and 2) gravitational SUSY breaking localized on a hidden brane. In the case 2), the cosmological moduli problem may be relaxed as well.

Nambu-Goldstone Boson Hypothesis for Squarks and Sleptons in Pure Gravity Mediation

We point out that a hypothesis of squarks and sleptons being Nambu-Goldstone (NG) bosons is consistent with pure gravity mediation or minimal split supersymmetry (SUSY). As a concrete example, we consider a SUSY $E_7/SU(5) \times U(1)^3$ non-linear sigma model in the framework of pure gravity mediation. The model accommodates three families of the quark and lepton chiral multiplets as (pseudo) NG multiplets of the Kahler manifold, which may enable us to understand the origin and number of the families. We point out that squarks in the first and second generations are likely to be as light as a few TeV if the observed baryon asymmetry is explained by the thermal leptogenesis; therefore, these colored particles can be discovered at the LHC Run-2 or at the high luminosity LHC.

Upper Bound on the Gluino Mass in Supersymmetric Models with Extra Matters

We discuss the upper bound on the gluino mass in supersymmetric models with vector-like extra matters. In order to realize the observed Higgs mass of 125 GeV, the gluino mass is bounded from above in supersymmetric models. With the existence of the vector-like extra matters at around TeV, we show that such an upper bound on the gluino mass is significantly reduced compared to the case of minimal supersymmetric standard model. This is due to the fact that radiatively generated stop masses as well the stop trilinear coupling are enhanced in the presence of the vector-like multiplets. In a wide range of parameter space of the model with extra matters, the gluino is required to be lighter than $\sim 3$ TeV, which is likely to be within the reach of forthcoming LHC experiment.

A New Scheme for NMSSM in Gauge Mediation

We propose a new framework for the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) in gauge mediation, where in general the correct electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) is difficult to be explained. The difficulty is caused by the absence of a soft supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking mass for the NMSSM singlet S. In our framework, S is a meson in a hidden QCD. This QCD is responsible for the dynamical SUSY breaking, forming S, and the soft SUSY breaking mass for S, which is a key to explain the correct EWSB: all the ingredients for successful phenomenology originate from the common dynamics. From the requirement of the successful EWSB, the low-scale SUSY breaking around 100-1000 TeV is predicted. This is favored to avoid the large fine-tuning.

CP-safe Gravity Mediation and Muon g-2

We propose a CP-safe gravity mediation model, where the phases of the Higgs B parameter, scalar trilinear couplings and gaugino mass parameters are all aligned. Since all dangerous CP violating phases are suppressed, we are now safe to consider low-energy SUSY scenarios. As an application, we consider a gravity mediation model explaining the observed muon $g-2$ anomaly. The CP-safe property originates in two simple assumptions: SUSY breaking in the Kähler potential and a shift symmetry of a SUSY breaking field $Z$. As a result of the shift symmetry, the imaginary part of $Z$ behaves as a QCD axion, leading to an intriguing possibility: the strong CP problem in QCD and the SUSY CP problem are solved simultaneously.

Focus Point Gauge Mediation with Incomplete Adjoint Messengers and Gauge Coupling Unification

As the mass limits on supersymmetric particles are gradually pushed to higher values due to their continuing non-observation at the CERN LHC, looking for focus point regions in the supersymmetric parameter space, which shows considerably reduced fine-tuning, is increasingly more important than ever. We explore this in the context of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking with messengers transforming in the adjoint representation of the gauge group, namely, octet of color SU(3) and triplet of weak SU(2). A distinctive feature of this scenario is that the focus point is achieved by fixing a single combination of parameters in the messenger sector, which is invariant under the renormalization group evolution. Because of this invariance, the focus point behavior is well under control once the relevant parameters are fixed by a more fundamental theory. The observed Higgs boson mass is explained with a relatively mild fine-tuning $Δ=$ 60-150. Interestingly, even in the presence of incomplete messenger multiplets of the SU(5) GUT group, the gauge couplings still unify perfectly, but at a scale which is one or two orders of magnitude above the conventional GUT scale. Because of this larger unification scale, the colored Higgs multiplets become too heavy to trigger proton decay at a rate larger than the experimentally allowed limit.

Higgs mass 125 GeV and g-2 of the muon in Gaugino Mediation Model

Gaugino mediation is very attractive since it is free from the serious flavor problem in the supersymmetric standard model. We show that the observed Higgs boson mass at around 125 GeV and the anomaly of the muon g-2 can be easily explained in gaugino mediation models. It should be noted that no dangerous CP violating phases are generated in our framework. Furthermore, there are large parameter regions which can be tested not only at the planned International Linear Collider but also at the coming 13-14 TeV Large Hadron Collider.

High-scale SUSY from an R-invariant New Inflation in the Landscape

We provide an anthropic reason that the supersymmetry breaking scale is much higher than the electroweak scale as indicated by the null result of collider experiments and observed 125 GeV Higgs boson. We focus on a new inflation model as a typical low-scale inflation model that may be expected in the string landscape. In this model, the R-symmetry is broken at the minimum of the inflaton potential and its breaking scale is related to the reheating temperature. Once we admit that the anthropic principle requires thermal leptogenesis, we obtain a lower bound on gravitino mass, which is related to R-symmetry breaking scale. This scenario and resulting gravitino mass predict the consistent amplitude of density perturbations. We also find that string axions and saxions are consistently implemented in this scenario.

Muon g-2 in Anomaly Mediated SUSY Breaking

Motivated by two experimental facts, the muon g-2 anomaly and the observed Higgs boson mass around 125 GeV, we propose a simple model of anomaly mediation, which can be seen as a generalization of mixed modulus-anomaly mediation. In our model, the discrepancy of the muon g-2 and the Higgs boson mass around 125 GeV are easily accommodated. The required mass splitting between the strongly and weakly interacting SUSY particles are naturally achieved by the contribution from anomaly mediation. This model is easily consistent with SU(5) or SO(10) grand unified theory.

Muon g-2 in Focus Point SUSY

We point out that the anomaly of the muon $g-2$ can be easily explained in a focus point supersymmetry scenario, which realizes the semi-natural supersymmetry. Among known focus point supersymmetry scenarios, we find that a model based on Higgs-gaugino mediation works with a mild fine-tuning $Δ=40$-$80$. We propose two new focus point supersymmetry scenarios where the anomaly of the muon $g-2$ is also explained. These scenarios are variants of the widely known focus point supersymmetry based on gravity mediation with universal scalar masses.

Seminatural Gauge Mediation from Product Group Unification

We propose a focus point gauge mediation model based on the product group unification (PGU), which solves the doublet-triplet splitting problem of the Higgs multiplets. In the focus point gauge mediation, the electroweak symmetry breaking scale can be naturally explained even for multi-TeV stops. It is known that the focus point behavior appears if a ratio of the number of SU(2) doublet messengers to that of SU(3) triplet messengers is close to 5/2. Importantly, this ratio (effectively) appears in our scenario based on the PGU, if the messenger field is an adjoint representation of SU(5) gauge group. Therefore, our focus point scenario is very predictive. It is also pointed out the gravitino can be dark matter without spoiling the success of the thermal leptogenesis. The absence of the SUSY CP-problem is guaranteed in the case that the Higgs B-term vanishes at the messenger scale.

Seminatural SUSY from $E_7$ Nonlinear Sigma Model

We present a new focus point supersymemtry breaking scenario based on the supersymmetric $E_7$ non-linear sigma model. In this non-linear sigma model, squarks and sleptons are identified with (pseudo) Nambu-Goldstone bosons. Their masses are generated only radiatively through gauge and yukawa interactions, and they are much smaller than the gravitino and gaugino masses at a high energy scale. On the other hand, Higgs doublets belong to matter multiplets and hence may have unsuppressed supersymmetry-breaking soft masses. We consider their masses to be equal to the gravitino mass at the high energy scale, assuming the minimal Kahler potential for Higgs doublets. We show that the fine-tuning measure of the electroweak symmetry breaking scale is reduced significantly to $Δ=30-70$, if the ratio of the gravitino mass to the gaugino mass is around $5/4$. Also, the prospects of the discovery/exclusion of supersymmetric particles at the Large Hadron Collider and dark matter direct detection experiments are discussed.

Testing the Minimal Direct Gauge Mediation at the LHC

We reexamine the models with gauge mediation in view of the minimality. As a result, we arrive at a very simple model of direct gauge mediation which does not suffer from the flavor problems nor the CP problems. We show that the parameter space which is consistent with the Higgs boson mass at around 126 GeV can be tested through the stable stau searches at the 14TeV run of the LHC. The gravitino is a viable candidate for a dark matter. We also give a short discussion on a possible connection of our model to the recently discovered X-ray line signal at 3.5 keV in the XMM Newton X-ray observatory data.

Upper Bounds on Gluino, Squark and Higgisino Masses in the Focus Point Gaugino Mediation with a Mild Fine Tuning $Δ\le 100$

We show that upper bounds on the masses for gluino, squarks and higgsino are $m_{gluino} \le 5.5$ TeV, $m_{squark} \le 4.7$ TeV and $m_{higgsino} \le 650$ GeV in a focus point gaugino mediation. Here, we impose a mild fine tuning $Δ\le 100$. This result shows that it is very challenging for the LHC to exclude the focus point gaugino mediation with the mild fine tuning. However, the ILC may have a potential for excluding the focus point gaugino mediation with such a mild fine tuning. It is also shown that vector-like matters reduce the required masses of the squark (stop) and gluino to explain the observed Higgs boson mass and enhance the testability of the model at the LHC. The fine-tuning is still kept mild.

A natural scenario for heavy colored and light uncolored superpartners

Influenced by the current trend of experimental data, especially from the LHC, we construct a supersymmetric scenario where a natural dynamics makes the squarks and gluino super-heavy (order 10 TeV) while keeping the sleptons and the weak gauginos light (100-500 GeV). The dynamics relies on the interfusion of two underlying ideas: ($i$) gauge mediation of supersymmetry breaking with two messenger multiplets, one transforming as a triplet of weak SU(2) and the other as an octet of color SU(3); ($ii$) perturbative gauge coupling unification at the string scale even with these incomplete SU(5) multiplets. Interestingly, the relative magnitude of the triplet and octet messenger scales that ensures gauge unification at the two-loop level also helps to naturally keep the uncolored superpartners light while making the colored ones heavy.

A practical GMSB model for explaining the muon (g-2) with gauge coupling unification

We present a gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking model having weak SU(2) triplet, color SU(3) octet and SU(5) 5-plet messengers, that can simultaneously explain the muon $(g-2)$ data within 1$σ$ and the observed Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV. Gauge coupling unification is nontrivially maintained. Most of the parameter space satisfying both is accessible to the 14 TeV LHC. The lighter of the two staus weighs around (100-200) GeV, which can be a potential target of the ILC.

Bino-Higgsino Mixed Dark Matter in a Focus Point Gaugino Mediation

We investigate the neutralino dark matter in the focus point gaugino mediation model with the O(100) GeV gravitino. The thermal relic abundance of the neutralino with a sizable Higgsino fraction can explain the dark matter density at the present universe. The spin-independent cross section is marginally consistent with the current upper limit from the XENON 100 experiment, and the whole parameter region can be covered at the XENON1T experiment. We also discuss the origin of the gluino mass to wino mass ratio at around 3/8, which is crucial for the mild fine-tuning in the electroweak symmetry breaking sector. It is shown that the existence of the non-anomalous discrete R-symmetry can fix this ratio to 3/8.

Enhanced Diphoton Signal of the Higgs Boson and the Muon g-2 in Gauge Mediation Models

We study the diphoton signal of the Higgs boson in gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking models, which can explain both the Higgs boson mass of around 125 GeV and the result of the muon g-2 experiment. We consider two possible extensions of gauge mediation models: inclusion of vector-like matters, and a mixing between a messenger and the up-type Higgs. The large left-right mixing of staus is induced in both scenarios, resulting in the enhanced diphoton signal. We include a constraint from a charge breaking minimum, which is severe for the large left-right mixing of staus. The branching fraction of h to gamma gamma can be about 40 percent larger than that of the Standard Model Higgs boson, in the region of parameter space where the Higgs boson mass of around 125 GeV and the muon g-2 are explained.

Focus Point in Gaugino Mediation ~ Reconsideration of the Fine-tuning Problem ~

We reconsider the fine-tuning problem in SUSY models, motivated by the recent observation of the relatively heavy Higgs boson and non-observation of the SUSY particles at the LHC. Based on this thought, we demonstrate a focus point-like behavior in a gaugino mediation model, and show that the fine-tuning is indeed reduced to about 2 percent level if the ratio of the gluino mass to wino mass is about 0.4 at the GUT scale. We show that such a mass ratio may arise naturally in a product group unification model without the doublet-triplet splitting problem. This fact suggests that the fine-tuning problem crucially depends on the physics at the high energy scale.

Heavy Squarks and Light Sleptons in Gauge Mediation ~From the viewpoint of 125 GeV Higgs Boson and Muon g-2~

In the framework of gauge mediation models, we investigate scenarios with heavy squarks and light sleptons, motivated by the recent discovery of the Higgs boson and the deviation of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (g-2) from the SM prediction. We show that only models with a messenger multiplet in the adjoint representation of SU(5) GUT gauge group are the unique possibility that sleptons are light enough to explain the muon g-2 in the minimal setup. We also show that, if there is an additional source of the Higgs soft masses, the muon g-2 can be explained with messenger multiples in the fundamental representation of SU(5) with the help of the light higgsino. Some phenomenological aspects of these models are also discussed.

Higgs Boson Mass in Low Energy SUSY Models with Vector-like Matters

We show that the gauge mediation models with vector-like matters can explain the Higgs boson mass of 126 GeV without large soft scalar masses nor a large left-right mixing of the stops. The scenario has interesting features: the existence of the light non-colored SUSY particles accessible at the LHC and ILC, the explanation of the muon g-2 and the possibility of the enhanced di-photon decay rate of the Higgs boson.

Muon g-2 and 125 GeV Higgs in Split-Family Supersymmetry

We discuss the minimal supersymmetric standard model with "split-family" spectrum where the sfermions in the first two generations are in the hundreds GeV to a TeV range while the sfermions in the third generation are in the range of tens TeV. With the split-family spectrum, the deviation of the muon g-2 and the observed Higgs boson mass are explained simultaneously. It is predicted that the gluino and the squarks in the first two generations are within the reach of the LHC experiments in most favored parameter space for the universal gaugino mass, which can be tested by searching for events with missing transverse energy or events with stable charged massive particles. We also point out that the split-family scenario can be consistent with the focus point scenario for the non-universal gaugino masses where the required mu-term is in the hundreds GeV range.

Recent Result of the AMS-02 Experiment and Decaying Gravitino Dark Matter in Gauge Mediation

The AMS-02 collaboration has recently reported an excess of cosmic-ray positron fractions, which is consistent with previous results at PAMELA and Fermi-LAT experiments. The result indicates the existence of new physics phenomena to provide the origin of the energetic cosmic-ray positron. We pursue the possibility that the enhancement of the positron fraction is due to the decay of gravitino dark matter. We discuss that such a scenario viably fits into the models in which the soft SUSY breaking parameters are dominantly from gauge-mediation mechanism with superparticle masses of around 10 TeV. Our scenario is compatible with ~126 GeV Higgs boson, negative searches for SUSY particles, and non-observation of anomalous FCNC processes. We also point out that the scenario will be tested in near future by measuring the electric dipole moment of the electron and the lepton flavor violating decay of the muon.

A Solution to the mu/Bmu Problem in Gauge Mediation with Hidden Gauge Symmetry

We propose a solution to the mu/Bmu problem in gauge-mediated SUSY breaking, which does not suffer from the SUSY CP problem and is consistent with the solution to the strong CP problem. The model is based on Z_3-invariant NMSSM with additional vector-like matter charged under a hidden gauge group as well as the standard model gauge groups. The dynamical scale of the hidden gauge symmetry is set to be around 10 GeV. We show that this simple extension of the NMSSM resolves the domain wall problem and the mu/Bmu problem without a dangerous CP angle. The relative sign among gaugino masses and the mu parameter can be preferable in terms of the muon anomalous magnetic moment. We also discuss cosmological issues of this model, especially the effects of long-lived particles in the hidden gauge sector. The hidden glueball may cause a late-time entropy production, which opens up a possibility that the light gravitino can be a dominant component of dark matter while leptogenesis scenarios work successfully. There is a region where the electroweak symmetry is successfully broken with ~10 TeV stops, and the Higgs mass of ~125 GeV can be explained.

Enhanced Higgs Mass in a Gaugino Mediation Model without the Polonyi Problem

We consider a SUSY breaking scenario without the Polonyi problem. To solve the problem, the enhanced couplings of the Polonyi field to an inflaton, gauge kinetic functions and itself are assumed. As a result, a gaugino mediated SUSY breaking occurs. In this scenario, the Higgs boson mass becomes consistent with the recently observed value of the Higgs-like boson (i.e., m_h ~= 125 GeV) for the gluino mass about 4TeV, which is, however, out of the reach of the LHC experiment. We show that the trilinear coupling of the scalar top is automatically enhanced by the presence of the extra matters. With such extra matters, the Higgs mass as large as 125 GeV can be realized with the gluino mass of 1-2 TeV which is within the reach of the LHC experiment. In our scenario, the gravitino is the lightest SUSY particle and the candidate for dark matter, and the Wino, Bino, and sleptons are in a range from 200 GeV to 700 GeV.

Higgs Boson Mass in Low Scale Gauge Mediation Models

We consider low scale gauge mediation models with a very light gravitino m_{3/2}~16 eV, in the light of recent experimental hints on the Higgs boson mass. The light gravitino is very interesting since there is no gravitino over-production problem, but it seems difficult to explain the Higgs boson mass of ~125 GeV. This is because of the conflict between the light gravitino mass and heavy SUSY particle masses needed for producing the relatively heavy Higgs boson mass. We consider two possible extensions in this paper: a singlet extension of the Higgs sector, and strongly coupled gauge mediation. We show that there is a large parameter space, in both scenarios, where the Higgs boson mass of ~125 GeV is explained without any conflict with such a very light gravitino.

Higgs mass and muon anomalous magnetic moment in the U(1) extended MSSM

We study phenomenological aspects of the MSSM with extra U(1) gauge symmetry. We find that the lightest Higgs boson mass can be increased up to 125 GeV, without introducing a large SUSY scale or large A-terms, in the frameworks of the CMSSM and gauge mediated SUSY breaking (GMSB) models. This scenario can simultaneously explain the discrepancy of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon g-2) at the 1 sigma level, in both of the frameworks, U(1)-extended CMSSM/GMSB models. In the CMSSM case, the dark matter abundance can also be explained.

Natural Supersymmetry and b -> s gamma constraints

We investigate constraints from the observed branching ratio for b -> s gamma and fine-tuning in the framework of natural supersymmetry. The natural supersymmetry requires the large trilinear coupling of the stop sector, light higgsinos (a small mu parameter) and light stops, in order to reduce the fine-tuning in the Higgs sector while avoiding the LEP constraint. It is found that in such a scenario 5% (10%) level of fine-tuning is inevitable due to the b -> s gamma constraint even if the messenger scale is as low as 10^5 GeV (10^4 GeV), provided that the gaugino masses satisfy the GUT relation.

NMSSM in gauge-mediated SUSY breaking without domain wall problem

A problem of the gauge-mediated SUSY breaking model is its difficulty to generate a natural value of mu/Bmu, while the NMSSM is a natural framework to solve the mu/Bmu problem. The NMSSM in gauge-mediated SUSY breaking in its original form does not work well since the singlet field cannot develop a desired vacuum expectation value. It also suffers from the cosmological domain wall problem. We study an extension of the model to include additional vector-like matter, which is charged under the hidden QCD. It is shown that this simple extension solves both the problems. We study phenomenological and cosmological implications of this extended models. The lightest Higgs mass can be as large as 130-140 GeV for some model points.

Peccei-Quinn extended gauge-mediation model with vector-like matter

We construct a gauge-mediated SUSY breaking model with vector-like matters combined with the Peccei-Quinn mechanism to solve the strong CP problem. The Peccei-Quinn symmetry plays an essential role for generating sizable masses for the vector-like matters and the $μ$-term without introducing dangerous CP angle. The model naturally explains both the 125GeV Higgs mass and the muon anomalous magnetic moment. The stabilization of the Peccei-Quinn scalar and the cosmology of the saxion and axino are also discussed.

Vacuum Stability Bound on Extended GMSB Models

Extensions of GMSB models were explored to explain the recent reports of the Higgs boson mass around 124-126 GeV. Some models predict a large mu term, which can spoil the vacuum stability of the universe. We study two GMSB extensions: i) the model with a large trilinear coupling of the top squark, and ii) that with extra vector-like matters. In both models, the vacuum stability condition provides upper bounds on the gluino mass if combined with the muon g-2. The whole parameter region is expected to be covered by LHC at sqrt{s} = 14 TeV. The analysis is also applied to the mSUGRA models with the vector-like matters.

Higgs Mass and Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment in Supersymmetric Models with Vector-Like Matters

We study the muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon g-2) and the Higgs boson mass in a simple extension of the minimal supersymmetric (SUSY) Standard Model with extra vector-like matters, in the frameworks of gauge mediated SUSY breaking (GMSB) models and gravity mediation (mSUGRA) models. It is shown that the deviation of the muon g-2 and a relatively heavy Higgs boson can be simultaneously explained in large tan-beta region. (i) In GMSB models, the Higgs mass can be more than 135 GeV (130 GeV) in the region where muon g-2 is consistent with the experimental value at the 2 sigma (1 sigma) level, while maintaining the perturbative coupling unification. (ii) In the case of mSUGRA models with universal soft masses, the Higgs mass can be as large as about 130 GeV when muon g-2 is consistent with the experimental value at the 2 sigma level. In both cases, the Higgs mass can be above 140 GeV if the g-2 constraint is not imposed.

Higgs mass, muon g-2, and LHC prospects in gauge mediation models with vector-like matters

Recently the ATLAS and CMS collaborations presented preliminary results of Standard Model Higgs searches and reported excesses of events for a Higgs boson at 124-126 GeV. Such a Higgs mass can be naturally realized, simultaneously explaining the muon g-2 anomaly, in gauge-mediated SUSY breaking models with extra vector-like matters. Upper bounds are obtained on the gluino mass, m_{\tilde g}\lesssim 1.2 (1.8) TeV, and on the extra vector-like quark mass, M_{Q'} \lesssim 1.0 (1.8) GeV, in the parameter region where the Higgs boson mass is 124-126 GeV and the muon g-2 is consistent with the experimental value at the 1 sigma (2 sigma) level. The LHC prospects are explored in the parameter region. It is found that some of the regions are already excluded by the LHC, and most of the parameter space is expected to be covered at \sqrt{s} = 14 TeV. A study on the extra vector-like quarks, especially current bounds on their masses and prospects for future searches, is also included.

Relaxing the Higgs mass bound in singlet extensions of the MSSM

We show that the upper bound on the lightest Higgs mass in the MSSM is relaxed by introducing a singlet which couples to the Higgs fields, even at a large tan beta region, preferable for explaining the muon anomalous magnetic moment. In the models of a singlet extension, it is known that the upper bound is relaxed by a tree-level contribution, especially at small tan beta region. For large tan beta, however, the requirement for the perturbativity on the singlet-Higgs coupling up to the GUT scale prevents the lightest Higgs from obtaining a large tree-level mass. We construct an explicit UV complete model which allows large singlet-Higgs coupling at low energy without disturbing the perturbativity. The UV completion can be applied for any singlet extension of the MSSM. Moreover, we point out that the radiative correction from the singlet-Higgs coupling becomes dominant, and the lightest Higgs mass can be easily as heavy as 130 GeV if this coupling is large enough even for large tan beta.

SUSY CP Problem in Gauge Mediation Model

SUSY CP problem in the gauge mediation supersymmetry breaking model is reconsidered. We pay particular attention to two sources of CP violating phases whose effects were not seriously studied before; one is the effect of the breaking of the GUT relation among the gaugino masses due to the field esponsible for the GUT symmetry breaking, and the other is the supergravity effect on the supersymmetry breaking parameters, in particular, on the bi-linear supersymmetry breaking Higgs mass term. We show that both of them can induce too large electric dipole moments of electron, neutron, and so on, to be consistent with the experimental bounds.

Effects of Large Threshold Corrections in Supersymmetric Type-I Seesaw Model

We investigate lepton flavor violating (LFV) radiative processes and the relic abundance of neutralino dark matter in supersymmetric type-I seesaw model. We carefully derive threshold corrections to the flavor off-diagonal elements of slepton mass matrix and up-type Higgs mass squared and find that they can be large in the case of large $B_N^0$. We examine how the branching ratios of LFV radiative decays and the relic abundance of neutralino dark matter can be significantly affected by the large threshold corrections. Soft scalar mass squared parameter of up-type Higgs scalar is also affected by the threshold corrections. Since the higgsino mass depends on the mass parameter for up-type Higgs, the LFV processes and the relic abundance of the neutralino dark matter are correlated with each other. We show that there are parameter regions where the predictions of the relic abundance of neutralino dark matter are consistent with WMAP observation and the branching ratios of LFV radiative decays are predicted to be testable in future experiments. We find that the masses of scalar supersymmetric particles are not necessarily small so that the branching ratios of LFV decays can be testable in future experiment, which is distinctive feature of this scenario.

Large CP Violation in B_s Meson Mixing with EDM constraint in Supersymmetry

Motivated by the recent measurement of the like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry, we investigate anomalous CP violation in the B_s- bar{B}_s mixing within the supersymmetry. We show that when gluino diagrams dominate supersymmetry contributions, it is very difficult to realize a large B_s- bar{B}_s mixing phase under the constraint from electric dipole moments barring cancellations. This constraint can be ameliorated by supposing superparticles decoupled. In this limit, we find that it is possible to achieve the large CP asymmetry, and the branching ratio of B_s -> mu^+ mu^- tends to become sizable.

Soft Leptogenesis and Gravitino Dark Matter in Gauge Mediation

We study soft leptogenesis in gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking models with an enhanced A-term for the right-handed neutrino. We find that this scenario can explain the baryon asymmetry of the present universe, consistently with the gravitino dark matter for a wide range of gravitino mass m_{3/2}=O(MeV)-O(GeV). We also propose an explicit model which induces the necessary A-term for the right-handed neutrino.

Threshold corrections to the radiative breaking of electroweak symmetry and neutralino dark matter in supersymmetric seesaw model

We study the radiative electroweak symmetry breaking and the relic abundance of neutralino dark matter in the supersymmetric type I seesaw model. In this model, there exist threshold corrections to Higgs bilinear terms coming from heavy singlet sneutrino loops, which make the soft supersymmetry breaking (SSB) mass for up-type Higgs shift at the seesaw scale and thus a minimization condition for the Higgs potential is affected. We show that the required fine-tuning between the Higgsino mass parameter mu and the SSB mass for up-type Higgs may be reduced at the electroweak scale, due to the threshold corrections. We also present how the parameter mu depends on the SSB B-parameter for heavy singlet sneutrinos. Since the property of neutralino dark matter is quite sensitive to the size of mu, we discuss how the relic abundance of neutralino dark matter is affected by the SSB B-parameter. Taking the SSB B-parameter of order of a few hundreds TeV, the required relic abundance of neutralino dark matter can be correctly achieved. In this case, dark matter is a mixture of bino and Higgsino, under the condition that gaugino masses are universal at the grand unification scale.

Electroweak Symmetry Breaking and Singlino Dark Matter with Deflected Anomaly Mediation

We investigate the phenomenology of the Nearly Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (nMSSM) in the deflected anomaly mediation scenario. We also include the Fayet-Iliopoulos D-term of the standard model gauge group. In the nMSSM, the mu term is replaced by the vacuum expectation value of the gauge singlet; therefore, there is no difficulty in generating the B-term of the SUSY breaking scale. Although the messenger sector is introduced, direct couplings between nMSSM fields and messenger sector fields are forbidden by the discrete symmetry. Therefore, the phenomenology at the weak scale does not depend on the detail of the messenger sector. We show that there are regions of parameter space in which electroweak symmetry breaking occurs successfully and the lightest Higgs is heavier than the LEP bound. We show that the gluino is light in this scenario. The lightest neutralino, which is mainly composed of a singlino, is a candidate for dark matter. The relic density explains the observed abundance of dark matter. The dark matter-nucleon scattering cross section satisfies the current limit from CDMS and XENON10 with a small value for the strange quark content of a nucleon.
