Let $S$ be a ring of polynomials in finitely many variables over a field. In this paper we give lower bounds for depth and Stanley depth of modules of the type $S/I^t$ for $t\geq1$, where $I$ is the edge ideal of some caterpillar and lobster trees. These new bounds are much sharper than the existing bounds for the classes of ideals we considered.
The associated primes of an arbitrary lexsegment ideal $I\subset S=K[x_1,...,x_n]$ are determined. As application it is shown that $S/I$ is a pretty clean module, therefore, $S/I$ is sequentially Cohen-Macaulay and satisfies Stanley's conjecture.
Let $S$ be a polynomial algebra over a field. We study classes of monomial ideals (as for example lexsegment ideals) of $S$ having minimal depth. In particular, Stanley's conjecture holds for these ideals. Also we show that if Stanley's conjecture holds for a square free monomial ideal then it holds for all its trivial modifications.
On dedicated websites, people can upload videos and share it with the rest of the world. Currently these videos are cat- egorized manually by the help of the user community. In this paper, we propose a combination of color spaces with the Bayesian network approach for robust detection of skin color followed by an automated video categorization. Exper- imental results show that our method can achieve satisfactory performance for categorizing videos based on skin color.
We give an upper bound for the Stanley depth of the edge ideal of a complete $k$-partite hypergraph and as an application we give an upper bound for the Stanley depth of a monomial ideal in a polynomial ring $S$. We also give a lower and an upper bound for the cyclic module $S/I$ associated to the complete $k$-partite hypergraph.
We give an upper bound for the Stanley depth of the edge ideal $I$ of a $k$-partite complete graph and show that Stanley's conjecture holds for $I$. Also we give an upper bound for the Stanley depth of the edge ideal of a $k$-uniform complete bipartite hypergraph.
Let $I\subset J$ be monomial ideals of a polynomial algebra $S$ over a field. Then the Stanley depth of $J/I$ is smaller or equal with the Stanley depth of $\sqrt{J}/\sqrt{I}$. We give also an upper bound for the Stanley depth of the intersection of two primary monomial ideals $Q$, $Q'$, which is reached if $Q$, $Q'$ are irreducible, ht$(Q+Q')$ is odd and $\sqrt{Q}$, $\sqrt{Q'}$ have no common variable.
We give different bounds for the Stanley depth of a monomial ideal $I$ of a polynomial algebra $S$ over a field $K$. For example we show that the Stanley depth of $I$ is less or equal with the Stanley depth of any prime ideal associated to $S/I$. Also we show that the Stanley conjecture holds for $I$ and $S/I$ when the associated prime ideals of $S/I$ are generated by disjoint sets of variables.
