Recursions for rational q,t-Catalan numbers

We give a simple recursion labeled by binary sequences which computes rational $q,t$-Catalan power series, both in relatively prime and non relatively prime cases. It is inspired by, but not identical to recursions due to B. Elias, M. Hogancamp, and A. Mellit, obtained in their study of link homology. We also compare our recursion with the Hogancamp-Mellit's recursion and verify a connection between the Khovanov-Rozansky homology of $N,M$-torus links and the rational $q,t$-Catalan power series for general positive $N,M.$

Categorifying the tensor product of a level 1 highest weight and perfect crystal in type A

We use Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras to categorify a crystal isomorphism between a highest weight crystal and the tensor product of a perfect crystal and another highest weight crystal, all in level 1 type A affine. The nodes of the perfect crystal correspond to a family of trivial modules and the nodes of the highest weight crystal correspond to simple modules, which we may also parameterize by $\ell$-restricted partitions. In the case $\ell$ is a prime, one can reinterpret all the results for the symmetric group in characteristic $\ell$. The crystal operators correspond to socle of restriction and behave compatibly with the rule for tensor product of crystal graphs.

Categorifying the tensor product of the Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystal $B^{1,1}$ and a fundamental crystal

We use Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier (KLR) algebras to categorify a crystal isomorphism between a fundamental crystal and the tensor product of a Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystal and another fundamental crystal, all in affine type. The nodes of the Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystal correspond to a family of "trivial" modules. The nodes of the fundamental crystal correspond to simple modules of the corresponding cyclotomic KLR algebra. The crystal operators correspond to socle of restriction and behave compatibly with the rule for tensor product of crystal graphs.

Affine permutations and rational slope parking functions

We introduce a new approach to the enumeration of rational slope parking functions with respect to the area and a generalized dinv statistics, and relate the combinatorics of parking functions to that of affine permutations. We relate our construction to two previously known combinatorial constructions: Haglund's bijection exchanging the pairs of statistics (area, dinv) and (bounce, area) on Dyck paths, and Pak-Stanley labeling of the regions of k-Shi hyperplane arrangements by k-parking functions. Essentially, our approach can be viewed as a generalization and a unification of these two constructions. We also relate our combinatorial constructions to representation theory. We derive new formulas for the Poincare polynomials of certain affine Springer fibers and describe a connection to the theory of finite dimensional representations of DAHA and nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials.

Counting Shi regions with a fixed separating wall

Athanasiadis introduced separating walls for a region in the extended Shi arrangement and used them to generalize the Narayana numbers. In this paper, we fix a hyperplane in the extended Shi arrangement for type A and calculate the number of dominant regions which have the fixed hyperplane as a separating wall; that is, regions where the hyperplane supports a facet of the region and separates the region from the origin.

($\ell,0)$-Carter partitions, a generating function, and their crystal theoretic interpretation

In this paper we give an alternate combinatorial description of the "$(\ell,0)$-JM partitions" (see \cite{F}) that are also $\ell$-regular. Our main theorem is the equivalence of our combinatoric and the one introduced by James and Mathas (\cite{JM}). The condition of being an $(\ell,0)$-JM partition is fundamentally related to the hook lengths of the partition. The representation-theoretic significance of their combinatoric on an $\ell$-regular partition is that it indicates the irreducibility of the corresponding specialized Specht module over the finite Hecke algebra (see \cite{JM}). We use our result to find a generating series which counts the number of such partitions, with respect to the statistic of a partition's first part. We then apply our description of these partitions to the crystal graph $B(Λ_0)$ of the basic representation of $\hat{\mathfrak{sl}_{\ell}}$, whose nodes are labeled by $\ell$-regular partitions. Here we give a fairly simple crystal-theoretic rule which generates all $\ell$-regular $(\ell,0)$-JM partitions in the graph $B(Λ_0)$. Finally, we mention how our construction can be generalized to recent results of M. Fayers (see \cite{F}) and S. Lyle (see \cite{L}) to count the total number of (not necessarily $\ell$-regular) Specht modules which stay irreducible at a primitive $\ell$th root of unity (for $\ell >2$).

Crystals from categorified quantum groups

We study the crystal structure on categories of graded modules over algebras which categorify the negative half of the quantum Kac-Moody algebra associated to a symmetrizable Cartan data. We identify this crystal with Kashiwara's crystal for the corresponding negative half of the quantum Kac-Moody algebra. As a consequence, we show the simple graded modules for certain cyclotomic quotients carry the structure of highest weight crystals, and hence compute the rank of the corresponding Grothendieck group.
