Inviscid limit for the compressible Navier-Stokes equations with density dependent viscosity

We consider the compressible Navier-Stokes system describing the motion of a barotropic fluid with density dependent viscosity confined in a three-dimensional bounded domain $Ω$. We show the convergence of the weak solution to the compressible Navier-Stokes system to the strong solution to the compressible Euler system when the viscosity and the damping coefficients tend to zero.

Dimension reduction for the compressible Navier-Stokes system with density dependent viscosity

We consider a compressible Navier-Stokes system for a barotropic fluid with density dependent viscosity in a three-dimensional time-space domain $(0,T)\times Ω_\varepsilon$ where $Ω_\varepsilon = (0,\varepsilon)^2\times (0,1)$. We show that the weak solutions of the 3D system converges to the strong solution of the respective 1D system as $\varepsilon\rightarrow0.$

High Mach number limit for Korteweg fluids with density dependent viscosity

The aim of this paper is to investigate the regime of high Mach number flows for compressible barotropic fluids of Korteweg type with density dependent viscosity. In particular we consider the models for isothermal capillary and quantum compressible fluids. For the capillary case we prove the existence of weak solutions and related properties for the system without pressure, and the convergence of the solution in the high Mach number limit. This latter is proved also in the quantum case for which a weak-strong uniqueness analysis is also discussed in the framework of the so-called "augmented" version of the system. Moreover, as byproduct of our results, in the case of a capillary fluid with a special choice of the initial velocity datum, we obtain an interesting property concerning the propagation of vacuum zones.

Measure-valued solutions and weak-strong uniqueness for the incompressible inviscid fluid-rigid body interaction

We consider a coupled system of partial and ordinary differential equations describing the interaction between an isentropic inviscid fluid and a rigid body moving freely inside the fluid. We prove the existence of measure-valued solutions which is generated by the vanishing viscosity limit of incompressible fluid-rigid body interaction system under some physically constitutive relations. Moreover, we show that the measure-value solution coincides with strong solution on the interval of its existence. This relies on the weak-strong uniqueness analysis.

Low Mach number limit on thin domains

We consider the compressible Navier-Stokes system describing the motion of a viscous fluid confined to a straight layer $Ω_δ=(0,δ)\times\mathbb{R}^2$. We show that the weak solutions in the 3D domain converge strongly to the solution of the 2D incompressible Navier-Stokes equations (Euler equations) when the Mach number $ε$ tends to zero as well as $δ\rightarrow 0$ (and the viscosity goes to zero).

The rotating Navier- Stokes- Fourier- Poisson system on thin domains

We consider the compressible Navier - Stokes - Fourier - Poisson system describing the motion of a viscous heat conducting rotating fluid confined to a straight layer $ Ω_ε = ω\times (0,ε) $, where $ω$ is a 2-D domain. The aim of this paper is to show that the weak solutions in the 3D domain converge to the strong solution of the 2-D Navier - Stokes - Fourier - Poisson system $ω$ as $ε\to 0$ on the time interval, where the strong solution exists. We consider two different regimes in dependence on the asymptotic behaviour of the Froude number.
