A new solution to square matrix completion problem

In this paper we give a novel solution to a classical completion problem for square matrices. This problem was studied by many authors through time, and it is completely solved in [2, 3]. In this paper we relate this classical problem to a purely combinatorial question involving partitions of integers and their majorizations studied in [4]. We show surprising relations in these approaches and as a corollary, we obtain a new combinatorial result on partitions of integers.

Knots-quivers correspondence

We introduce and explore the relation between knot invariants and quiver representation theory, which follows from the identification of quiver quantum mechanics in D-brane systems representing knots. We identify various structural properties of quivers associated to knots, and identify such quivers explicitly in many examples, including some infinite families of knots, all knots up to 6 crossings, and some knots with thick homology. Moreover, based on these properties, we derive previously unknown expressions for colored HOMFLY-PT polynomials and superpolynomials for various knots. For all knots, for which we identify the corresponding quivers, the LMOV conjecture for all symmetric representations (i.e. integrality of relevant BPS numbers) is automatically proved.

On extended graphical calculus for categorified quantum $sl(n)$

We study the properties of the extended graphical calculus for categorified quantum $sl(n)$. The main results include proofs of Reidemeister 2 and Reidemeister 3-like moves involving strands corresponding to arbitrary thicknesses and arbitrary colors -- the results that were anounced in [M. Stosic: Indecomposable objects and Lusztig's canonical basis, Math. Res. Lett. 22, no. 1 (2015), 245-278].

Quadruply-graded colored homology of knots

We conjecture the existence of four independent gradings in the colored HOMFLY homology. We describe these gradings explicitly for the rectangular colored homology of torus knots and make qualitative predictions of various interesting structures and symmetries in the colored homology of general knots. We also give a simple representation-theoretic model for the HOMFLY homology of the unknot colored by any representation. While some of these structures have a natural interpretation in the physical realization of knot homologies based on counting supersymmetric configurations (BPS states, instantons, and vortices), others are completely new. They suggest new geometric and physical realizations of colored HOMFLY homology as the Hochschild homology of the category of branes in a Landau-Ginzburg B-model or, equivalently, in the mirror A-model. Supergroups and supermanifolds are surprisingly ubiquitous in all aspects of this work.

A diagrammatic categorification of the q-Schur algebra

In this paper we categorify the q-Schur algebra S(n,d) as a quotient of Khovanov and Lauda's diagrammatic 2-category U(sln). We also show that our 2-category contains Soergel's monoidal category of bimodules of type A, which categorifies the Hecke algebra H(d), as a full sub-2-category if d does not exceed n. For the latter result we use Elias and Khovanov's diagrammatic presentation of Soergel's monoidal category of type A.

Homological algebra of knots and BPS states

It is known that knot homologies admit a physical description as spaces of open BPS states. We study operators and algebras acting on these spaces. This leads to a very rich story, which involves wall crossing phenomena, algebras of closed BPS states acting on spaces of open BPS states, and deformations of Landau-Ginzburg models. One important application to knot homologies is the existence of "colored differentials" that relate homological invariants of knots colored by different representations. Based on this structure, we formulate a list of properties of the colored HOMFLY homology that categorifies the colored HOMFLY polynomial. By calculating the colored HOMFLY homology for symmetric and anti-symmetric representations, we find a remarkable "mirror symmetry" between these triply-graded theories.

Indecomposable 1-morphisms of \dot{U}^+_3 and the canonical basis of U_q^+(sl_3)

We compute the indecomposable objects of \dot{U}^+_3 - the category that categorifies the positive half of the quantum sl_3, and we decompose an arbitrary object into indecomposable ones. On decategorified level we obtain the Lusztig's canonical basis of the positive half U^+_q(sl_3) of the quantum sl_3. We also categorify the higher quantum Serre relations in U_q^+(sl_3), by defining a certain complex in the homotopy category of $\dot{U}^+_3$ that is homotopic to zero. We work with the category $\dot{U}^+_3$ that is defined over the ring of integers. This paper is based on the (extended) diagrammatic calculus introduced to categorify quantum groups.

Extended graphical calculus for categorified quantum sl(2)

A categorification of the Beilinson-Lusztig-MacPherson form of the quantum sl(2) was constructed in the paper arXiv:0803.3652 by the second author. Here we enhance the graphical calculus introduced and developed in that paper to include two-morphisms between divided powers one-morphisms and their compositions. We obtain explicit diagrammatical formulas for the decomposition of products of divided powers one-morphisms as direct sums of indecomposable one-morphisms; the latter are in a bijection with the Lusztig canonical basis elements. These formulas have integral coefficients and imply that one of the main results of Lauda's paper---identification of the Grothendieck ring of his 2-category with the idempotented quantum sl(2)---also holds when the 2-category is defined over the ring of integers rather than over a field.

Homological thickness and stability of torus knots

In this paper we show that the non-alternating torus knots are homologically thick, i.e. that their Khovanov homology occupies at least three diagonals. Furthermore, we show that we can reduce the number of full twists of the torus knot without changing certain part of its homology, and consequently, we show that there exists stable homology of torus knots conjectured by Dunfield, Gukov and Rasmussen in \cite{dgr}. Since our main tool is the long exact sequence in homology, we have applied our approach in the case of the Khovanov-Rozansky ($sl(n)$) homology, and thus obtained analogous stability properties of $sl(n)$ homology of torus knots, also conjectured in \cite{dgr}.

Khovanov homology of links and graphs

In this thesis we work with Khovanov homology of links and its generalizations, as well as with the homology of graphs. Khovanov homology of links consists of graded chain complexes which are link invariants, up to chain homotopy, with graded Euler characteristic equal to the Jones polynomial of the link. Hence, it can be regarded as the "categorif\mbox{}ication" of the Jones polynomial. \indent We prove that the f\mbox{}irst homology group of positive braid knots is trivial. Futhermore, we prove that non-alternating torus knots are homologically thick. In addition, we show that we can decrease the number of full twists of torus knots without changing low-degree homology and consequently that there exists stable homology for torus knots. We also prove most of the above properties for Khovanov-Rozansky homology. \indent Concerning graph homology, we categorify the dichromatic (and consequently Tutte) polynomial for graphs, by categorifying an inf\mbox{}inite set of its one-variable specializations. We categorify explicitly the one-variable specialization that is an analog of the Jones polynomial of an alternating link corresponding to the initial graph. Also, we categorify explicitly the whole two-variable dichromatic polynomial of graphs by using Koszul complexes. \textbf{Key-words:} Khovanov homology, Jones polynomial, link, torus knot, graph, dichromatic polynomial
