Let $\mathbb{F}_p$ be the field with $p$ elements with $p$ prime, $X_1,\ldots, X_n$ pairwise disjoint subsets of $\mathbb{F}_p$with at least $3$ elements such that $\sum_{i=1}^n|X_i|\leq p-5$, and $\mathbb{S}_n$ the set of permutations of $\{1,2,\ldots, n\}$. If $a_1,\ldots,a_n\in\mathbb{F}_p^*$ are not all equal, we characterize the subsets $X_1,\ldots, X_n$ which satisfy \begin{equation*} \Bigg|\bigcup_{σ\in\mathbb{S}_n}\sum_{i=1}^na_{σ(i)}X_i\Bigg|\leq \sum_{i=1}^n|X_i|. \end{equation*} This result has the following application: For $n\geq 2$, $b\in\mathbb{F}_p$ and $a_1,\ldots, a_n$ as above, we characterize the colorings $\bigcup_{i=1}^nC_i=\mathbb{F}_p$ where each color class has at least 3 elements such that $\sum_{i=1}^na_ix_i=b$ has not rainbow solutions.
Linear forms in logarithms over connected commutative algebraic groups over the algebraic numbers field have been studied widely. However, the theory of linear forms in logarithms over noncommutative algebraic groups have not been developed as the one of the commutative algebraic groups and in this paper we start studying linear forms in logarithms over affine groups.
In this paper we show some multiplicity estimates theorems for a connected algebraic group (not necessarily commutative) $G$ over an algebraically closed subfield of $\mathbb{C}$. More specifically, under particular assumptions on the parameters and the points where the polynomial has high order with respect to a Lie subalgebra of the Lie algebra associated to $G$, we present a series of results where we find obstruction varieties with different properties. Some of the results obtained in this paper improve the multiplicity estimates theorem for arbitrary connected algebraic groups that already exist and also they shall be important tools in transcendence theory for noncommutative algebraic groups.
Let p be a prime number and Zp be the cyclic group of order p. A coloring of Zp is called rainbow-free with respect to a certain equation, if it contains no rainbow solution of the same, that is, a solution whose elements have pairwise distinct colors. In this paper we describe the structure of rainbow-free 3-colorings of Zp with respect to all linear equations on three variables. Consequently, we determine those linear equations on three variables for which every 3-coloring (with nonempty color classes) of Zp contains a rainbow solution of it.
