Temporal interference of relativistic bosons

In quantum mechanics, time is introduced as a non-measurable quantity, as there is no possibility to build a hermitian operator canonically conjugated to the Hamiltonian. We cannot have, therefore, the time operator, which means that the temporal structure of the evolution of quantum systems is ill-defined. We present an extension to the model, in which the time evolution is based on the projection postulate rather than the unitary operator. This approach is in agreement with all other aspects of quantum mechanics and allows to discuss time as an observable. Using this framework we present a description of the temporal double-slit experiment in which a~single particle interferes with itself from a different instant of time. Such behaviour has already been observed experimentally but lacked a consistent theoretical explanation.

Neutrinoless double beta decay mediated by the neutrino magnetic moment

We present a new channel of the neutrinoless double beta decay. In this scenario neutrinos not only oscillate inside the nucleus but also interact with an external non-uniform magnetic field. We assume that the field rotates about the direction of motion of the neutrino and show, that for a certain speed of rotation the half-life of the $0\nu2β$ decay may be significantly lowered.

$0\nu2β$ decay and neutrino magnetic moment

We propose a new channel of the neutrinoless double beta decay, based on the fact that in the presence of an external nonuniform magnetic field, the transition between neutrino and antineutrino can take place through the induced neutrino magnetic moment. We calculate the analog of the effective neutrino mass for this channel and show that, for certain values of the external magnetic field, a resonant enhancement can be obtained.

On particle oscillations

It has been firmly established, that neutrinos change their flavour during propagation. This feature is attributed to the fact, that each flavour eigenstate is a superposition of three mass eigenstates, which propagate with different frequencies. This picture, although widely accepted, is wrong in the simplest approach and requires quite sophisticated treatment based on the wave-packet description within quantum field theory. In this communication we present a novel, much simpler explanation and show, that oscillations among massive particles can be obtained in a natural way. We use the framework of quantum mechanics with time being a physical observable, not just a parameter.

Constraining Bilinear R-Parity Violation from Neutrino Masses

We confront the R-parity violating MSSM model with the neutrino oscillation data. Investigating the 1-loop particle-sparticle diagrams with additional bilinear insertions on the external neutrino lines we construct the relevant contributions to the neutrino mass matrix. A comparison of the so-obtained matrices with the experimental ones assuming normal or inverted hierarchy and taking into account possible CP violating phases, allows to set constraints on the values of the bilinear coupling constants. A similar calculation is presented with the input from the Heidelberg-Moscow neutrinoless double beta decay experiment. We base our analysis on the renormalization group evolution of the MSSM parameters which are unified at the GUT scale. Using the obtained bounds we calculate the contributions to the Majorana neutrino transition magnetic moments.

Extra Dimensions and Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay Experiments

The neutrinoless double beta decay is one of the few phenomena, belonging to the non-standard physics, which is extensively being sought for in experiments. In the present paper the link between the half-life of the neutrinoless double beta decay and theories with large extra dimensions is explored. The use of the sensitivities of currently planned $0\nu2β$ experiments: DAMA, CANDLES, COBRA, DCBA, CAMEO, GENIUS, GEM, MAJORANA, MOON, CUORE, EXO, and XMASS, gives the possibility for a non-direct `experimental' verification of various extra dimensional scenarios. We discuss also the results of the Heidelberg--Moscow Collaboration. The calculations are based on the Majorana neutrino mass generation mechanism in the Arkani-Hamed--Dimopoulos--Dvali model.

Lightest Higgs boson masses in the R-parity violating supersymmetry

The first results on the searches of the Higgs boson appeared this Summer from the LHC and Tevatron groups, and has been recently backed up by the ATLAS and CMS experiments taking data at CERN's LHC. Even though the excitement that this particle has been detected is still premature, the new data constrain the mass of the lightest Higgs boson $m_{h^0}$ to a very narrow 120-140 GeV region with a possible peak at approximately 125 GeV. In this communication we shortly present the Higgs sector in a minimal supergravity model with broken R-parity. Imposing the constraint on $m_{h^0}$ we show that there is a relatively large set of free parameters of the model, for which that constraint is fulfilled. We indetify also points which result in the lightest Higgs boson mass being approximately 125 GeV. Also the dependence on the magnitude of the R-parity admixture to the model is discussed.

Majorana neutrino magnetic moments in the gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking MSSM model

Supersymmetric models with broken R-parity provide mechanisms that allow to generate Majorana neutrino masses and magnetic moments through virtual particle-sparticle loops. This constitutes an attractive alternative to the see-saw mechanism. In this paper we present a detailed calculation of the transition magnetic moments of a Majorana neutrino in gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking MSSM without R-parity. We base our analysis on the renormalization group evolution of the MSSM parameters, which are unified at the GUT scale.

Neutrino Oscillations in Strong Gravitational Fields

Neutrinos do oscillate, which up to our best knowledge implies that they are massive particles. As such, neutrinos should interact with gravitational fields. As their masses are tiny, the gravitational fields must be extremely strong. In this paper we study the influence of black holes described by non-trivial topologies on the neutrino oscillations. We present approximate analytical and numerical solutions of certain specific cases.

Suppression of $0ν2β$ Decay from CP Violation

The observed phenomenon of neutrino oscillations is interpreted as the proof that neutrinos must have mass. As this is true for the neutrinos in the mass basis, the mass matrix in the flavor (weak) basis may still contain zeros. This can happen if the CP violating phases, usually neglected, come into play and result in suppression of processes which half-life depends on the masses of $ν_e$, $ν_μ$, or $ν_τ$. In the present paper we investigate the possibility of such suppression of the neutrinoless double beta decay ($0\nu2β$).
