"Krein" regularization method

The "Krein" regularization method of quantum field theory is studied, inspired by the Krein space quantization and quantum metric fluctuations. It was previously considered in the one-loop approximation, and this paper is generalized to all orders of perturbation theory. We directly recover the physical results previously obtained starting from the standard QFT by imposing the renormalization conditions. By applying our approach to the QFT in curved space-time and quantum linear gravity, we discuss that there is no need for the higher derivative of the metric tensor for the renormalization of the theory. The advantage of our method compared to the previous ones is that the linear quantum gravity is renormalizable in all orders of perturbation theory.

Axiomatic de Sitter quantum Yang-Mills theory with color confinement and mass gap

The analyticity property of de Sitter's quantum Yang-Mills theory in the framework of Kerin space quantization, including quantum metric fluctuation, is demonstrated. This property completes our previous work regarding quantum Yang-Mills theory in de Sitter's ambient space formalism, and we can construct an axiomatic quantum field theory similar to Wightman's axioms. The color confinement is proven for the general case, which was previously approved in the early universe. It is shown by using the interaction between gluon fields and the conformal sector of the gravitational field, which is a massless minimally coupled scalar gauge field. The gluon mass results from the interaction between the gluon fields and the massless minimally coupled scalar field as a conformal sector of the gravitational field and then the symmetry-breaking setting due to the vacuum expectation value of the scalar field.

Polarization tensor in de Sitter gauge gravity

The gauge theory of the de Sitter group, SO$(1,4)$, in the ambient space formalism has been considered in this article. This method is essential to constructing the de Sitter super-conformal gravity and Quantum gravity. $10$ gauge vector fields are needed, corresponding to $10$ generators of the de Sitter group. Using the gauge-invariant Lagrangian, the field equation of these vector fields has been obtained. The gauge vector field solutions are recalled. Then, the spin-$2$ gauge potentials are constructed from the gauge vector field. There are two possibilities for presenting this tensor field: rank-$2$ symmetric and mixed symmetry rank-$3$ tensor fields. To preserve the conformal transformation, a spin-$2$ field must be represented by a mixed symmetry rank-$3$ tensor field, $\mathcal {K}_{αβγ}$. This tensor field has been rewritten using a generalized polarization tensor field and a de Sitter plane wave. This generalized polarization tensor field has been calculated as a combination of vector polarization, $\mathcal {E}_α$, and tensor polarization of rank-$2$, $\mathcal {E}_{αβ}$, which can be used in the gravitational wave consideration. For the construction of this polarization tensor, the arbitrary constant vector fields appear. We fix it so that, in the limit, $H=0$, one obtains the polarization tensor in Minkowski space-time. It has been shown that under some simple conditions, the spin-$2$ mixed symmetry rank-$3$ tensor field can be simultaneously transformed by the unitary irreducible representation of de Sitter and conformal groups, SO$(2,4)$.

Quantum Yang-Mills theory in de Sitter ambient space formalism

We present the quantum Yang-Mills theory in the four-dimensional de Sitter ambient space formalism. In accordance with the SU$(3)$ gauge symmetry the interaction Lagrangian is formulated in terms of interacting color charged fields in curved space-time. The gauge-invariant field equations are obtained in an independent coordinate description, and their corresponding color conserved currents are computed. Faddeev-Popov ghost fields are shown to be equivalent to their Minkowski counterparts. We obtain that the free ghost fields are massless minimally coupled scalar fields. The problems of the vacuum state, namely the breaking of de Sitter invariance, and the appearance of infrared divergence in its quantization procedure, are discussed. The existence of an axiomatic quantum Yang-Mills theory within the framework of the Krein space quantization is examined. The infrared divergence regularization of the interaction between the gauge vector fields and the ghost fields is studied in the one-loop approximation. Two different regularization methods are discussed: cut-off regularization and Krein space regularization. A mass term for the gauge vector fields is obtained, which may explain the mass gap and the color confinement problems at the quantum level in de Sitter background. The large curvature limit at the early universe or inflationary epoch is considered.

Super-gauge Field in de Sitter Universe

The Gupta-Bleuler triplet for vector-spinor gauge field is presented in de Sitter ambient space formalism. The invariant space of field equation solutions is obtained with respect to an indecomposable representation of the de Sitter group. By using the general solution of the massless spin-$\frac{3}{2}$ field equation, the vector-spinor quantum field operator and its corresponding Fock space is constructed. The quantum field operator can be written in terms of the vector-spinor polarization states and a quantum conformally coupled massless scalar field, which is constructed on Bunch-Davies vacuum state. The two-point function is also presented, which is de Sitter covariant and analytic.

Entropy of Quantum Fields in de Sitter Space-time

The quantum states or Hilbert spaces for the quantum field theory in de Sitter space-time are studied on ambient space formalism. In this formalism, the quantum states are only depended $(1)$ on the topological character of the de Sitter space-time, {\it i.e.} $\R \times S^3$, and $(2)$ on the homogeneous spaces which are used for construction of the unitary irreducible representation of de Sitter group. A compact homogeneous space is chosen in this paper. The unique feature of this homogeneous space is that its total number of quantum states, ${\cal N}$, is finite although the Hilbert space has infinite dimensions. It is shown that ${\cal N}$ is a continuous function of the Hubble constant $H$ and the eigenvalue of the Casimir operators of de Sitter group. The entropy of the quantum fields on this Hilbert space have been calculated which is finite and invariant for all inertial observers on the de Sitter hyperboloid.

Experimental structure of gravitational wave detection by bounded cold electronic plasma in a long pipe

In the previous paper, we introduced a new method of gravitational waves (GW) detection. In our proposal, we replaced usual Weber's metallic bar with a cold electronic plasma. We obtained a nonhomogenous differential equation for tangential electric field that on it GW is known as nonhomogenous term. In this paper we estimate, the dimension of pipe, the electron density and some other associated parameters for obtaining the best detection.

Gravitational wave detection by bounded cold electronic plasma in a long pipe

We intend to propose an experimental sketch to detect gravitational waves (GW) directly, using an cold electronic plasma in a long pipe. By considering an cold electronic plasma in a long pipe, the Maxwell equations in 3+1 formalism will be invoked to relate gravitational waves to the perturbations of plasma particles. It will be shown that the impact of GW on cold electronic plasma causes disturbances on the paths of the electrons. Those electrons that absorb energy from GW will pass through the potential barrier at the end of the pipe. Therefore, crossing of some electrons over the barrier will imply the existence of the GW.

Conformal linear gravity in de Sitter space II

From the group theoretical point of view, it is proved that the theory of linear conformal gravity should be written in terms of a tensor field of rank-3 and mixed symmetry [Binegar, et al, Phys. Rev. D 27, (1983) 2249]. We obtained such a field equation in de Sitter space [Takook, et al, J. Math. Phys. 51, (2010) 032503]. In this paper, a proper solution to this equation is obtained as a product of a generalized polarization tensor and a massless scalar field and then the conformally invariant two-point function is calculated. This two-point function is de Sitter invariant and free of any pathological large-distance behavior.

Covariant Quantization of "Massive" Spin-3/2 Fields in the de Sitter Space

We present a covariant quantization of the free "massive" spin-3/2 fields in four-dimensional de Sitter space-time based on analyticity in the complexified pseudo-Riemannian manifold. The field equation is obtained as an eigenvalue equation of the Casimir operator of the de Sitter group. The solutions are calculated in terms of coordinate-independent de Sitter plane-waves in tube domains and the null curvature limit is discussed. We give the group theoretical content of the field equation. The Wightman two-point function $S^{i \bar j}_{αα'}(x,x')$ is calculated. We introduce the spinor-vector field operator $Ψ_α(f)$ and the Hilbert space structure. A coordinate-independent formula for the field operator $Ψ_α(x)$ is also presented.

Auxiliary "massless" spin-2 field in de Sitter universe

For the tensor field of rank-2 there are two unitary irreducible representation (UIR) in de Sitter (dS) space denoted by $Π^{\pm}_{2,2}$ and $Π^{\pm}_{2,1}$ [1]. In the flat limit only the $Π^{\pm}_{2,2}$ coincides to the UIR of Poincaré group, the second one becomes important in the study of conformal gravity. In the pervious work, Dirac's six-cone formalism has been utilized to obtain conformally invariant (CI) field equation for the "massless" spin-2 field in dS space [2]. This equation results in a field which transformed according to $Π^{\pm}_{2,1}$, we name this field the auxiliary field. In this paper this auxiliary field is considered and also related two-point function is calculated as a product of a polarization tensor and "massless" conformally coupled scalar field. This two-point function is de Sitter invariant.

Conformal linear gravity in de Sitter space

It has been shown that the theory of linear conformal quantum gravity must include a tensor field of rank-3 and mixed symmetry [1]. In this paper, we obtain the corresponding field equation in de Sitter space. Then, in order to relate this field with the symmetric tensor field of rank-2, $\K_{αβ}$ related to graviton, we will define homomorphisms between them. Our main result is that if one insists $\K_{αβ}$ to be a unitary irreducible representation of de Sitter and conformal groups it must satisfy a filed equation of order 6, which is obtained.

Conformally Invariant "Massless" Spin-2 Field in de Sitter Universe

''Massless'' spin-2 field equation in de Sitter space, which is invariant under the conformal transformation, has been obtained. The frame work utilized is the symmetric rank-2 tensor field of the conformal group. Our method is based on the group theoretical approach and six-cone formalism, initially introduced by Dirac. Dirac's six-cone is used to obtain conformally invariant equations on de Sitter space. The solution of the physical sector of massless spin-2 field (linear gravity) in de Sitter ambient space is written as a product of a generalized polarization tensor and a massless minimally coupled scalar field. Similar to the minimally coupled scalar field, for quantization of this sector, the Krein space quantization is utilized. We have calculated the physical part of the linear graviton two-point function. This two-point function is de Sitter invariant and free of pathological large distance behavior.

A Naturally Renormalized Quantum Field Theory

It was shown that quantum metric fluctuations smear out the singularities of Green's functions on the light cone [1], but it does not remove other ultraviolet divergences of quantum field theory. We have proved that the quantum field theory in Krein space, {\it i.e.} indefinite metric quantization, removes all divergences of quantum field theory with exception of the light cone singularity [2,3]. In this paper, it is discussed that the combination of quantum field theory in Krein space together with consideration of quantum metric fluctuations, results in quantum field theory without any divergences.

Spin 1/2 Field Theory in the de Sitter space-time

A covariant quantization of the free spinor fields (s=1/2) in 4-dimensional de Sitter (dS) space-time based on analyticity in the complexified pseudo-Riemanian manifold is presented. We define the Wigthman two-point function ${\cal W}(x,y)$, which satisfies the conditions of: a) positivity, b) locality, c) covariance, and d) normal analyticity. Then the Hilbert space structure and the field operators $ψ(f)$ are defined. A coordinate-independent formula for the unsmeared field operator $ψ(x)$ is also given.
