Spin-Hall Detector

An oscillographic study of the Hall voltage with an unpolarized alternating current through a platinum sample revealed choral features of the Hall effect, which clearly demonstrate the presence of the spin Hall effect in metals with a noticeable spin-orbit interaction. It was confirmed that, as in the case of direct current, the possibility of a spin-Hall effect is associated with the presence of an imbalance of the spins and charges at the edges of the samples, which is realized using their asymmetric geometry. In particular, it was found that such chiral features of the nonequilibrium spin-Hall effect, such as independence from the direction of the injection current and the direction of the constant magnetic field, in the case of alternating current, make it possible to obtain a double-frequency transverse voltage, which can be used as a platform for creating spintronics devices.

Non-equilibrium Spin-Hall Effect in Aluminum and Tungsten

The method proposed by us in [1], which eliminates obstacles in the application of electrical methods for studying the spin-Hall effect (SHE) by creating a spin unbalance, which generates a charge unbalance, using the form effect without using polarized injected current, is used in this work to study and compare SHE of different origin - internal (band) and external (structural and impurity). The internal SHE (ISHE) was studied on ultrapure single crystal samples of uncompensated (aluminum) and compensated (tungsten) metals. The influence of external factors on SHE was studied on polycrystalline and impurity aluminum samples. The investigations were carried out in the region of small magnetic fields, which ensure the symmetry of the conventional Hall effect (CHE), which makes it possible to study the chiral behavior of the spin Hall effect.

Spin-dependent conductivity of iron-based superconductors in a magnetic field

We report the results of a study of magnetic field features of electron transport in heterojunctions with NS boundary inside iron-based superconductors, represented by a binary phase of $α$ - FeSe and oxyarsenide pnictide LaO(F)FeAs. We used the ability of self magnetic field of the transport current to partially destroy superconductivity, no matter how low the field may be, in the NS interface area, where, due to the proximity effect, the superconducting order parameter, $Δ$, disperses from 1 to 0 within the scale of the Ginzburg-Landau coherence length. The following features of transport were found:(i) at $T<T_{c}$, magnetoresistance in systems with different superconductors has different sign;(ii) sign and magnitude of the magnetoresistance depend on the magnitude of current and temperature, and (iii) in all operating modes where the contribution from Andreev reflection is suppressed ($(T + eV) \gtrsim Δ$),the hysteresis of the magnetoresistance is present. Based on the results of the experiment and analysis it has been concluded that there is along-range magnetic order in th eground normal state of the iron-based superconductors studied, in the presence of itinerant magnetism of conduction electrons which determines the possibility of anisotropic spin-dependent exchange interaction with the local magnetic moments of the ions.

Conductance of non-ballistic point contacts in hybrid systems "normal metal/superconductor" Cu/Mo-C and Cu/LaOFFeAs

We consider the shape of the curves of "Andreev" conductance of non-ballistic point contact NS heterosystems depending on the bias voltage at the contact. The obtained shape of those curves is caused by the contribution from the mechanism of coherent scattering by impurities which doubles the scattering cross section. The behavior of generalized and differential conductance is compared for ballistic and non-ballistic transport regimes. The criteria are considered allowing one to discriminate between those regimes with the corresponding conduction curves similar in appearance. The analysis is extended to the case of non-ballistic transport in NS point contacts with exotic superconductors, molybdenum carbide Mo-C and oxypnictide La[O$_{1-x}$F$_{x}$]FeAs from a group of iron-based superconductors.
