In this paper we have constructed a new class of thin-shell wormholes from black holes in Hořava-Lifshitz gravity. Particular emphasis is placed on those aspects that allow a comparison of Hořava-Lifshitz to Einstein gravity. The former enjoys a number of advantages for small values of the throat radius.
This paper discusses a new model for galactic dark matter by combining an anisotropic pressure field corresponding to normal matter and a quintessence dark energy field having a characteristic parameter $ω_q$ such that $-1<ω_q< -\frac{1}{3}$. Stable stellar orbits together with an attractive gravity exist only if $ω_q$ is extremely close to $-\frac{1}{3}$, a result consistent with the special case studied by Guzman et al. (2003). Less exceptional forms of quintessence dark energy do not yield the desired stable orbits and are therefore unsuitable for modeling dark matter.
Lorentz proposed a classical model of electron in which electron was assumed to have only 'electromagnetic mass'. We modeled electron as charged anisotropic perfect fluid sphere admitting non static conformal symmetry. It is noticed that the pressure and density fail to be regular at the origin but effective gravitational mass is regular everywhere and vanishes at the limit r->0 i.e. it does not have to tolerate the problem of singularity. Further, we have matched interior metric with exterior (Reissner-Nordström) metric and determine the values of the parameters k and r_0 (occurring in the solutions) in functions of mass, charge and radius of the spherically symmetric charged objects i.e. electron.
Taking the flat rotation curve as input and treating the matter content in the galactic halo region as perfect fluid, we obtain space time metric at the galactic halo region in the framework of general relativity. We find that the resultant metric is a non-relativistic-dark-matter-induced space-time embedded in a static Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker universe. This means that the flat rotation curve not only leads to the existence of dark matter but also suggests the background geometry of the universe. The flat rotation curve and the demand that the dark matter be non-exotic together indicate a (nearly) flat universe as favored by the modern cosmological observations. We obtain the expressions for energy density and pressure of dark matter halo and consequently the equation of state of dark matter. Various other aspects of the solution are also analyzed.
Several aspects of the 4d imprint of the 5d bulk Weyl radiation are investigated within a recently proposed model solution. It is shown that the solution has a number of physically interesting properties. The constraints on the model imposed by combined measurements of rotation curve and lensing are discussed. A brief comparison with a well known scalar field model is also given.
Recently, Rahaman et al [ Nuovo.Cim 119B, 1115(2004)] have shown that the static spherically symmetric solutions in presence of C-field give rise to wormhole geometry. We highlight some of the characteristics of this wormhole, which have not been considered in the previous study.
In recent, Kar.S et.al [ Phys Rev D 67,044005 (2003) ] have obtained static spherically symmetric solutions of the Einstein-Kalb-Ramond field equations. We have shown that their solutions, indeed, represent Wormholes.
Long ago, since 1951, Lyra proposed a modification of Riemannian geometry. Based on the Lyra's modification on Riemannian geometry, Sen and Dunn constructed a field equation which is analogous to Einstein's field equations. Further more, Sen and Dunn gave series type solution to the static vacuum field equations. Retaining only a few terms, we have shown that their solutions correspond to black holes (we call, Lyra black holes). Some interesting properties of the Lyra black holes are studied.
