Unflavored Leptogenesis and Neutrino Masses in Flavored SUSY SU(5) model

We propose a model with D4D_4 flavor symmetry for leptogenesis in the framework of supersymmetric SU(5)SU(5) grand unified theory. Neutrino masses arise from the type I seesaw mechanism where the spontaneous symmetry breaking of the flavor symmetry leads to the well-known trimaximal mixing (TM2TM_2). We find that this model predicts the normal hierarchy (NH) for neutrino masses. We also find that the predicted range of the effective neutrino mass mββm_{ββ} can be tested at future neutrinoless double beta decay experiments. For the generation of the baryon asymmetry of the Universe (BAU), we consider the unflavored leptogenesis regime and we take into account the decay of the three righ-handed neutrinos NiN_i. We conclude that the BAU originates from a correction to the Dirac operator giving rise to a new coupling and a CPCP phase which both play an important role in generating the observed BAU.

Neutrino phenomenology in the flavored NMSSM without domain wall problems

We propose a next-to-minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) extended by an A4×Z3\mathbb{A}_{4}\times \boldsymbol{Z}_{3} flavor symmetry and three right-handed neutrinos providing a detailed study of the neutrino sector and a solution to the domain wall problem. In this proposal, neutrino masses are generated through Type I seesaw mechanism while the mixing angles are described by the trimaximal mixing realized using the NMSSM singlet S and only two flavon fields. The phenomenology of neutrino parameters is studied for normal and inverted mass hierarchies. In particular, we numerically evaluated the observables related to neutrino masses and mixing, namely, ∑mi\sum m_{i}, meem_{ee}, mνem_{ν_{e}}, and δCPδ_{CP} where we find that the ranges of meem_{ee} and mνem_{ν_{e}} are accessible by current and future experiments while the obtained ranges of ∑mi\sum m_{i} and δCPδ_{CP} lie within the current experimental data. Another attractive feature we discussed in this paper is the circumvention of the domain wall problem induced by the spontaneous breaking of the A4×Z3\mathbb{A}_{4}\times \boldsymbol{Z}_{3} discrete symmetry. We first showed that the domain walls in the charged lepton sector occur at high energy scale leading to unproblematic domain walls, while in the neutrino sector they are inevitable. Then, to solve this problem, we reconsidered the well-known approach that relies on the explicit breaking of the discrete symmetry through the insertion of Planck-suppressed operators induced by supergravity. \keywords{Neutrino physics, Discrete flavor symmetry,Trimaximal mixing, Domain walls}
