SPDEs with fractional noise in space with index $H<1/2$

In this article, we consider the stochastic wave and heat equations on $\mathbb{R}$ with non-vanishing initial conditions, driven by a Gaussian noise which is white in time and behaves in space like a fractional Brownian motion of index $H$, with $1/4<H<1/2$. We assume that the diffusion coefficient is given by an affine function $σ(x)=ax+b$, and the initial value functions are bounded and Hölder continuous of order $H$. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the mild solution for both equations. We show that the solution is $L^{2}(Ω)$-continuous and its $p$-th moments are uniformly bounded, for any $p \geq 2$.

Gaussian upper density estimates for spatially homogeneous SPDEs

We consider a general class of SPDEs in $\mathbb{R}^d$ driven by a Gaussian spatially homogeneous noise which is white in time. We provide sufficient conditions on the coefficients and the spectral measure associated to the noise ensuring that the density of the corresponding mild solution admits an upper estimate of Gaussian type. The proof is based on the formula for the density arising from the integration-by-parts formula of the Malliavin calculus. Our result applies to the stochastic heat equation with any space dimension and the stochastic wave equation with $d\in \{1,2,3\}$. In these particular cases, the condition on the spectral measure turns out to be optimal.

Pathwise definition of second order SDEs

In this article, a class of second order differential equations on [0,1], driven by a general Hölder continuous function and with multiplicative noise, is considered. We first show how to solve this equation in a pathwise manner, thanks to Young integration techniques. We then study the differentiability of the solution with respect to the driving process and consider the case where the equation is driven by a fractional Brownian motion, with two aims in mind: show that the solution we have produced coincides with the one which would be obtained with Malliavin calculus tools, and prove that the law of the solution is absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure.

Stochastic integrals for spde's: a comparison

We present the Walsh theory of stochastic integrals with respect to martingale measures, alongside of the Da Prato and Zabczyk theory of stochastic integrals with respect to Hilbert-space-valued Wiener processes and some other approaches to stochastic integration, and we explore the links between these theories. We then show how each theory can be used to study stochastic partial differential equations, with an emphasis on the stochastic heat and wave equations driven by spatially homogeneous Gaussian noise that is white in time. We compare the solutions produced by the different theories.
