Auto-correlation functions for unitary groups

We compute the auto-correlations functions of order $m\ge 1$ for the characteristic polynomials of random matrices from certain subgroups of the unitary groups $\U(2)$ and $\U(3)$ by applying branching rules. These subgroups can be understood as analogs of Sato--Tate groups of $\USp(4)$ in our previous paper. This computation yields symmetric polynomial identities with $m$-variables involving irreducible characters of $\U(m)$ for all $m \ge 1$ in an explicit, uniform way.

Rigid reflections of rank 3 Coxeter groups and reduced roots of rank 2 Kac--Moody algebras

In a recent paper by K.-H. Lee and K. Lee, rigid reflections are defined for any Coxeter group via non-self-intersecting curves on a Riemann surface with labeled curves. When the Coxeter group arises from an acyclic quiver, the rigid reflections are related to the rigid representations of the quiver. For a family of rank $3$ Coxeter groups, it was conjectured in the same paper that there is a natural bijection from the set of reduced positive roots of a symmetric rank $2$ Kac--Moody algebra onto the set of rigid reflections of the corresponding rank $3$ Coxeter group. In this paper, we prove the conjecture.

Auto-correlation functions of Sato-Tate distributions and identities of symplectic characters

The Sato-Tate distributions for genus 2 curves (conjecturally) describe the statistics of numbers of rational points on the curves. In this paper, we explicitly compute the auto-correlation functions of Sato-Tate distributions for genus 2 curves as sums of irreducible characters of symplectic groups. Our computations bring about families of identities involving irreducible characters of symplectic groups $Sp(2m)$ for all $m \in \mathbb Z_{\ge 1}$, which have interest in their own rights.

Whittaker functions and Demazure characters

In this paper, we consider how to express an Iwahori--Whittaker function through Demazure characters. Under some interesting combinatorial conditions, we obtain an explicit formula and thereby a generalization of the Casselman--Shalika formula. Under the same conditions, we compute the transition matrix between two natural bases for the space of Iwahori fixed vectors of an induced representation of a p-adic group; this generalizes a result of Bump--Nakasuji.

Fully commutative elements of type D and homogeneous representations of KLR-algebras

In this paper, we decompose the set of fully commutative elements into natural subsets when the Coxeter group is of type $D_n$, and study the combinatorics of these subsets, revealing hidden structures. (We do not consider type $A_n$ first, since a similar decomposition for type $A_n$ is trivial.) As an application, we classify and enumerate the homogeneous representations of the Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras of type $D_n$.

Homogeneous representations of Type A KLR-algebras and Dyck paths

The Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier (KLR) algebra arose out of attempts to categorify quantum groups. Kleshchev and Ram proved a result reducing the representation theory of these algebras to the study of irreducible cuspidal representations. In the finite type A, these cuspidal representations are included in the class of homogeneous representations, which are related to fully commutative elements of the corresponding Coxeter groups. In this paper, we study fully commutative elements using combinatorics of Dyck paths. Thereby we classify and enumerate the homogeneous representations for KLR algebras of type A and obtain a dimension formula for these representations from combinatorics of Dyck paths.

Representations of spin quiver Hecke algebras for orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras

We construct all the irreducible representations of spin quiver Hecke algebras for orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras $osp(1|2n),$ and show that their highest weights are given by the dominant words. We use the dominant Lyndon words to construct the cuspidal modules and show that the irreducible representations are the simple heads of standard representations constructed by induction from the cuspidal modules.

A combinatorial description of the affine Gindikin-Karpelevich formula of type A_n^(1)

The classical Gindikin-Karpelevich formula appears in Langlands' calculation of the constant terms of Eisenstein series on reductive groups and in Macdonald's work on p-adic groups and affine Hecke algebras. The formula has been generalized in the work of Garland to the affine Kac-Moody case, and the affine case has been geometrically constructed in a recent paper of Braverman, Finkelberg, and Kazhdan. On the other hand, there have been efforts to write the formula as a sum over Kashiwara's crystal basis or Lusztig's canonical basis, initiated by Brubaker, Bump, and Friedberg. In this paper, we write the affine Gindikin-Karpelevich formula as a sum over the crystal of generalized Young walls when the underlying Kac-Moody algebra is of affine type A_n^(1). The coefficients of the terms in the sum are determined explicitly by the combinatorial data from Young walls.

Automorphic correction of the hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebra $E_{10}$

In this paper we study automorphic correction of the hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebra $E_{10}$, using the Borcherds product for O(10,2) attached to a weakly holomorphic modular form of weight -4 for $SL_2(\mathbb Z)$. We also clarify some aspects of automorphic correction for Lorentzian Kac-Moody algebras and give heuristic reasons for the expectation that every Lorentzian Kac-Moody algebra has an automorphic correction.

Weakly holomorphic modular forms and rank two hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebras

In this paper, we compute basis elements of certain spaces of weight 0 weakly holomorphic modular forms and consider the integrality of Fourier coefficients of the modular forms. We use the results to construct automorphic correction of the rank 2 hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebras H(a), a=4,5,6, through Hilbert modular forms explicitly given by Borcherds lifts of the weakly holomorphic modular forms. We also compute asymptotic of the Fourier coefficients as they are related to root multiplicities of the rank 2 hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebras. This work is a continuation of the previous paper, where automorphic correction was constructed for H(a), a=3, 11, 66.

Weyl Group Multiple Dirichlet Series for Symmetrizable Kac-Moody Root Systems

Weyl group multiple Dirichlet series, introduced by Brubaker, Bump, Chinta, Friedberg and Hoffstein, are expected to be Whittaker coefficients of Eisenstein series on metaplectic groups. Chinta and Gunnells constructed these multiple Dirichlet series for all the finite root systems using the method of averaging a Weyl group action on the field of rational functions. In this paper, we generalize Chinta and Gunnells' work and construct Weyl group multiple Dirichlet series for the root systems associated with symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebras, and establish their functional equations and meromorphic continuation.

Young tableaux, canonical bases and the Gindikin-Karpelevich formula

A combinatorial description of the crystal B(infinity) for finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras in terms of certain Young tableaux was developed by J. Hong and H. Lee. We establish an explicit bijection between these Young tableaux and canonical bases indexed by Lusztig's parametrization, and obtain a combinatorial rule for expressing the Gindikin-Karpelevich formula as a sum over the set of Young tableaux.

A combinatorial description of the Gindikin-Karpelevich formula in type A

A combinatorial description of the crystal $\mathcal{B}(\infty)$ for finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras in terms of Young tableaux was developed by J. Hong and H. Lee. Using this description, we obtain a combinatorial rule for expressing the Gindikin-Karpelevich formula as a sum over $\mathcal{B}(\infty)$ when the underlying Lie algebra is of type A. We also interpret our description in terms of MV polytopes and irreducible components of quiver varieties.

Combinatorics of the Casselman-Shalika formula in type A

In the recent works of Brubaker-Bump-Friedberg, Bump-Nakasuji, and others, the product in the Casselman-Shalika formula is written as a sum over a crystal. The coefficient of each crystal element is defined using the data coming from the whole crystal graph structure. In this paper, we adopt the tableaux model for the crystal and obtain the same coefficients using data from each individual tableaux; i.e., we do not need to look at the graph structure. We also show how to combine our results with tensor products of crystals to obtain the sum of coefficients for a given weight. The sum is a q-polynomial which exhibits many interesting properties. We use examples to illustrate these properties.

Eisenstein series on affine Kac-Moody groups over function fields

H. Garland constructed Eisenstein series on affine Kac-Moody groups over the field of real numbers. He established the almost everywhere convergence of these series, obtained a formula for their constant terms, and proved a functional equation for the constant terms. In a subsequent paper, the convergence of the Eisenstein series was obtained. In this paper, we define Eisenstein series on affine Kac-Moody groups over global function fields using an adelic approach. In the course of proving the convergence of these Eisenstein series, we also calculate a formula for the constant terms and prove their convergence and functional equations.

Quantum affine algebras, canonical bases and $q$-deformation of arithmetical functions

In this paper, we obtain affine analogues of Gindikin-Karpelevich formula and Casselman-Shalika formula as sums over Kashiwara-Lusztig's canonical bases. Suggested by these formulas, we define natural $q$-deformation of arithmetical functions such as (multi-)partition function and Ramanujan $τ$-function, and prove various identities among them. In some examples, we recover classical identities by taking limits. We also consider $q$-deformation of Kostant's function and study certain $q$-polynomials whose special values are weight multiplicities.

Rank 2 symmetric hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebras and Hilbert modular forms

In this paper we study rank two symmetric hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebras H(a) and their automorphic correction in terms of Hilbert modular forms. We associate a family of H(a)'s to the quadratic field Q(p) for each odd prime p and show that there exists a chain of embeddings in each family. When p = 5, 13, 17, we show that the first H(a) in each family, i.e. H(3), H(11), H(66), is contained in a generalized Kac-Moody superalgebra whose denominator function is a Hilbert modular form given by a Borcherds product. Hence, our results provide automorphic correction for those H(a)'s. We also compute asymptotic formulas for the root multiplicities of the generalized Kac-Moody superalgebras using the fact that the exponents in the Borcherds products are Fourier coefficients of weakly holomorphic modular forms of weight 0.

Vertex Operator Algebras Associated to Type G Affine Lie Algebras

In this paper, we study representations of the vertex operator algebra $L(k,0)$ at one-third admissible levels $k= -5/3, -4/3, -2/3$ for the affine algebra of type $G_2^{(1)}$. We first determine singular vectors and then obtain a description of the associative algebra $A(L(k,0))$ using the singular vectors. We then prove that there are only finitely many irreducible $A(L(k,0))$-modules from the category $\mathcal O$. Applying the $A(V)$-theory, we prove that there are only finitely many irreducible weak $L(k,0)$-modules from the category $\mathcal O$ and that such an $L(k,0)$-module is completely reducible. Our result supports the conjecture made by Adamovi{ć} and Milas in \cite{AM}.
