$q$-Middle Convolution and $q$-Painlevé Equation

A $q$-deformation of the middle convolution was introduced by Sakai and Yamaguchi. We apply it to a linear $q$-difference equation associated with the $q$-Painlevé VI equation. Then we obtain integral transformations. We investigate the $q$-middle convolution in terms of the affine Weyl group symmetry of the $q$-Painlevé VI equation. We deduce an integral transformation on the $q$-Heun equation.

Polynomial solutions of $q$-Heun equation and ultradiscrete limit

We study polynomial-type solutions of the $q$-Heun equation, which is related with quasi-exact solvability. The condition that the $q$-Heun equation has a non-zero polynomial-type solution is described by the roots of the spectral polynomial, whose variable is the accessory parameter $E$. We obtain sufficient conditions that the roots of the spectral polynomial are all real and distinct. We consider the ultradiscrete limit to clarify the roots of the spectral polynomial and the zeros of the polynomial-type solution of the $q$-Heun equation.

On two-parameter solutions of simultaneous ultradiscrete Painleve II equation with parity variables

We introduce a simultaneous ultradiscrete Painleve II equation with parity variables, which is shown to be more suitable for studying two-parameter solutions than the single second-order ultradiscrete Painleve II equation with parity variables. We investigate several types of two-parameter solutions and the solutions which are related with the ultradiscrete limit of determinant type solutions of q-Painleve II equation.

Integral transformation of Heun's equation and some applications

It is known that the Fuchsian differential equation which produces the sixth Painlevé equation corresponds to the Fuchsian differential equation with different parameters via Euler's integral transformation, and Heun's equation also corresponds to Heun's equation with different parameters, again via Euler's integral transformation. In this paper we study the correspondences in detail. After investigating correspondences with respect to monodromy, it is demonstrated that the existence of polynomial-type solutions corresponds to apparency (non-branching) of a singularity. For the elliptical representation of Heun's equation, correspondence with respect to monodromy implies isospectral symmetry. We apply the symmetry to finite-gap potentials and express the monodromy of Heun's equation with parameters which have not yet been studied.

Ultradiscrete Painlevé VI with Parity Variables

We introduce a ultradiscretization with parity variables of the $q$-difference Painlevé VI system of equations. We show that ultradiscrete limit of Riccati-type solutions of $q$-Painlevé VI satisfies the ultradiscrete Painlevé VI system of equations with the parity variables, which is valid by using the parity variables. We study some solutions of the ultradiscrete Riccati-type equation and those of ultradiscrete Painlevé VI equation.

Source identity and kernel functions for Inozemtsev-type systems

The Inozemtsev Hamiltonian is an elliptic generalization of the differential operator defining the BC_N trigonometric quantum Calogero-Sutherland model, and its eigenvalue equation is a natural many-variable generalization of the Heun differential equation. We present kernel functions for Inozemtsev Hamiltonians and Chalykh-Feigin-Veselov-Sergeev-type deformations thereof. Our main result is a solution of a heat-type equation for a generalized Inozemtsev Hamiltonian which is the source for all these kernel functions. Applications are given, including a derivation of simple exact eigenfunctions and eigenvalues for the Inozemtsev Hamiltonian.
