Heat and Martin kernel estimates for Schrödinger operators with critical Hardy potentials

Let $Ω$ be a bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^N$ with $C^2$ boundary and let $K\subset\partialΩ$ be either a $C^2$ submanifold of the boundary of codimension $k<N$ or a point. In this article we study various problems related to the Schrödinger operator $L_μ =-Δ- μd_K^{-2}$ where $d_K$ denotes the distance to $K$ and $μ\leq k^2/4$. We establish parabolic boundary Harnack inequalities as well as related two-sided heat kernel and Green function estimates. We construct the associated Martin kernel and prove existence and uniqueness for the corresponding boundary value problem with data given by measures. Next we apply the results to the study of $L_μu+g(u) = 0$ and establish existence and uniqueness under suitable assumptions on the function $g$. To prove our results we introduce among other things a suitable notion of boundary trace. This trace is different from the one used by Marcus and Nguyen \cite{MT} thus allowing us to cover the whole range $μ\leq k^2/4$.

Semilinear elliptic Schrödinger equations involving singular potentials and source terms

Let $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^N$ ($N>2$) be a $C^2$ bounded domain and $Σ\subset Ω$ be a compact, $C^2$ submanifold without boundary, of dimension $k$ with $0\leq k < N-2$. Put $L_μ= Δ+ μd_Σ^{-2}$ in $Ω\setminus Σ$, where $d_Σ(x) = \mathrm{dist}(x,Σ)$ and $μ$ is a parameter. We study the boundary value problem (P) $-L_μu = g(u) + τ$ in $Ω\setminus Σ$ with condition $u=ν$ on $\partial Ω\cup Σ$, where $g: \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}$ is a nondecreasing, continuous function and $τ$ and $ν$ are positive measures. The interplay between the inverse-square potential $d_Σ^{-2}$, the nature of the source term $g(u)$ and the measure data $τ,ν$ yields substantial difficulties in the research of the problem. We perform a deep analysis based on delicate estimate on the Green kernel and Martin kernel and fine topologies induced by appropriate capacities to establish various necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution in different cases.

Green kernel and Martin kernel of Schrödinger operators with singular potential and application to the B.V.P. for linear elliptic equations

Let $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^N$ ($N \geq 3$) be a $C^2$ bounded domain and $K \subset Ω$ be a compact, $C^2$ submanifold in $\mathbb{R}^N$ without boundary, of dimension $k$ with $0\leq k < N-2$. We consider the Schrödinger operator $L_μ= Δ+ μd_K^{-2}$ in $Ω\setminus K$, where $d_K(x) = \text{dist}(x,K)$. The optimal Hardy constant $H=(N-k-2)/2$ is deeply involved in the study of $-L_μ$. When $μ\leq H^2$, we establish sharp, two-sided estimates for Green kernel and Martin kernel of $-L_μ$. We use these estimates to prove the existence, uniqueness and a priori estimates of the solution to the boundary value problem with measures for linear equations associated to $-L_μ$

Boundary singularities of solutions of semilinear elliptic equations with critical Hardy potentials

We study the boundary behaviour of the of (E) $-\Gd u-\myfrac{\xk }{d^2(x)}u+g(u)=0$, where $0<\xk <\frac{1}{4}$ and $g$ is a continuous nonndecreasing function in a bounded convex domain of $\BBR^N$. We first construct the Martin kernel associated to the the linear operator $\CL_{\xk }=-\Gd-\frac{\xk }{d^2(x)}$ and give a general condition for solving equation (E) with any Radon measure $\gm$ for boundary data. When $g(u)=|u|^{q-1}u$ we show the existence of a critical exponent $q_c=q_c(N,\xk )>1$: when $0<q<q_c$ any measure is eligible for solving (E) with $\gm$ for boundary data; if $q\geq q_c$, a necessary and sufficient condition is expressed in terms of the absolute continuity of $\gm$with respect to some Besov capacity. The same capacity characterizes the removable compact boundary sets. At end any positive solution (F) $-\Gd u-\frac{\xk }{d^2(x)}u+|u|^{q-1}u=0$ with $q>1$ admits a boundary trace which is a positive outer regular Borel measure. When $1<q<q_c$ we prove that to any positive outer regular Borel measure we can associate a positive solutions of ($F$) with this boundary trace.
