Superdeformed $Λ$ hypernuclei with antisymmetrized molecular dynamics

The response to the addition of a $Λ$ hyperon is investigated for the deformed states such as superdeformation in $^{41}_Λ$Ca, $^{46}_Λ$Sc and $^{48}_Λ$Sc. In the present study, we use the antisymmetrized molecular dynamics (AMD) model. It is pointed out that many kinds of deformed bands appear in $^{45}$Sc and $^{47}$Sc. Especially, it is found that there exists superdeformed states in $^{45}$Sc. By the addition of a $Λ$ particle to $^{40}$Ca, $^{45}$Sc and $^{47}$Sc, it is predicted, for the first time, that the superdeformed states exist in the hypernuclei $^{41}_Λ$Ca and $^{46}_Λ$Sc. The manifestation of the dependence of the $Λ$-separation energy on nuclear deformation such as spherical, normal deformation and superdeformation is shown in the energy spectra of $^{41}_Λ$Ca, $^{46}_Λ$Sc and $^{48}_Λ$Sc hypernuclei.

A Practical Method to Solve Cut-off Coulomb Problems in the Momentum Space -- Application to the Lippmann-Schwinger Resonating-Group Method and the pd Elastic Scattering --

A practical method to solve cut-off Coulomb problems of two-cluster systems in the momentum space is given. When a sharply cut-off Coulomb force with a cut-off radius $ρ$ is introduced at the level of constituent particles, two-cluster direct potential of the Coulomb force becomes in general a local screened Coulomb potential. The asymptotic Hamiltonian yields two types of asymptotic waves; one is an approximate Coulomb wave with $ρ$ in the middle-range region, and the other a free (no-Coulomb) wave in the longest-range region. The constant Wronskians of this Hamiltonian can be calculated in either region. We can evaluate the Coulomb-modified nuclear phase shifts for the screened Coulomb problem, using the matching condition proposed by Vincent and Phatak for the sharply cut-off Coulomb problem. We apply this method first to an exactly solvable model of the $αα$ scattering with the Ali-Bodmer potential and confirm that a complete solution is obtained with a finite $ρ$. The stability of nuclear phase shifts with respect to the change of $ρ$ in some appropriate range is demonstrated in the $αα$ resonating-group method (RGM) using the Minnesota three-range force. An application to the pd elastic scattering is also discussed.

Effective-Range Expansion of the Neutron-Deuteron Scattering Studied by a Quark-Model Nonlocal Gaussian Potential

The S-wave effective range parameters of the neutron-deuteron (nd) scattering are derived in the Faddeev formalism, using a nonlocal Gaussian potential based on the quark-model baryon-baryon interaction fss2. The spin-doublet low-energy eigenphase shift is sufficiently attractive to reproduce predictions by the AV18 plus Urbana three-nucleon force, yielding the observed value of the doublet scattering length and the correct differential cross sections below the deuteron breakup threshold. This conclusion is consistent with the previous result for the triton binding energy, which is nearly reproduced by fss2 without reinforcing it with the three-nucleon force.

Quark-Model Baryon-Baryon Interaction Applied to the Neutron-Deuteron Scattering (II) Polalization Observables of the Elastic Scattering

The neutron-deuteron (nd) scattering is solved in the Faddeev formalism, employing the energy-independent version of the quark-model baryon-baryon interaction fss2. The differential cross sections and the spin polarization of the elastic scattering up to the neutron incident energy $E_n=65$ MeV are well reproduced without reinforcing fss2 with the three-body force. The vector analyzing-power of the neutron, $A_y(θ)$, in the energy region $E_n$ < 25 MeV is largely improved in comparison with the predictions by the meson-exchange potentials, thus yielding a partial solution of the long-standing $A_y$-puzzle owing to the nonlocality of the short-range repulsion produced by the quark-model baryon-baryon interaction. The large Coulomb effect in the vector and tensor analyzing-powers in $E_n$ < 10 MeV is also analyzed based on the Vincent and Phatak method and recent detailed studies by other authors.

Quark-Model Baryon-Baryon Interaction Applied to the Neutron-Deuteron Scattering (III) Breakup Differential Cross Sections

The low-energy breakup differential cross sections of the neutron-deuteron (nd) scattering are studied by employing the energy-independent version of the quark-model baryon-baryon interaction fss2. This interaction reproduces almost all the breakup differential cross sections predicted by the meson-exchange potentials for the neutron incident energies $E_n \leq$ 65 MeV. The space star anomaly of 13 MeV nd scattering is not improved even in our model. Some overestimation of the breakup differential cross sections at $E_n$=22.7 - 65 MeV implies that systematic studies of various breakup configurations are necessary both experimentally and theoretically.
