Gravitational waves induced by massless vector fields with non-minimal coupling to gravity

In this paper, we calculate the contribution of the late time mode of a massless vector field to the power spectrum of the primordial gravitational wave using retarded Green's propagator. We consider a non-trivial coupling between gravity and the vector field. We find that the correction is scale-invariant and of order $\frac{H^4}{M_P^4}$. The non-minimal coupling leads to a dependence of $\frac{H^2}{M^2}$, which can amplify the correlation function up to the level of $\frac{H^2}{M^2_P}$.

Gravitational waves induced by spinor fields

In realistic model-building, spinor fields with various masses are present. During inflation, spinor field may induce gravitational waves as a second order effect. In this paper, we calculate the contribution of single massive spinor field to the power spectrum of primordial gravitational wave by using retarded Green propagator. We find that the correction is scale-invariant and of order $H^4/M_P^4$ for arbitrary spinor mass $m_ψ$. Additionally, we also observe that when $m_ψ\gtrsim H$, the dependence of correction on $m_ψ/H$ is nontrivial.

Curvaton with nonminimal derivative coupling to gravity

We show a curvaton model, in which the curvaton has a nonminimal derivative coupling to gravity. Thanks to such a coupling, we find that the scale-invariance of the perturbations can be achieved for arbitrary values of the equation-of-state of background, provided that it is nearly a constant. We also discussed about tensor perturbations, the local non-Gaussianities generated by the nonminimal derivative coupling curvaton model, as well as the adiabatic perturbations which are transferred from the field perturbations during the curvaton decay.

Curvaton with Nonminimal Derivative Coupling to Gravity II: Full Perturbation Analysis

In our previous work \cite{Feng:2013pba}, we have shown a curvaton model where the curvaton has a nonminimal derivative coupling to gravity. Such a coupling could bring us scale-invariance of the perturbations for wide range constant values of the equation-of-state of the cosmic background at the early time. In this paper, we continue our study by fully analyzing its perturbations up to the third order. Apart from the usual 2-point correlation function that has already been calculated in \cite{Feng:2013pba}, we have also taken into account the 3-point correlation functions including pure scalar part, pure tensor part, as well as the cross-correlations between scalar and tensor perturbation modes. We find that for pure scalar part, the 3-point correlation functions can generate non-Gaussianities that fits the PLANCK data very well. For pure tensor and mixed parts, the shape functions have peaks at squeezed and equilateral limits respectively, responsible for sizable $f_{NL}^{sqz}$ and $f_{NL}^{eql}$, which could be tested by the future observatioanl data.

IR Divergence in Inflationary Tensor Perturbations from Fermion Loops

We estimate fermion loop corrections to the two-point correlation function of primordial tensor perturbations in a slow-roll inflationary background. We particularly compute an explicit term of one-loop correction from a massless fermion, and then extend to the complete Interaction Hamiltonian. After that, we study one-loop corrections contributed by a massive fermion to primordial tensor fluctuations. The loop correction arisen from a massless fermion field contains logarithms and thus may constrain the validity of perturbation theory in inflationary cosmology, but the situation could be relaxed once the fermion's mass is taken into account. Another one-loop diagram for a massive fermion which involves one vertex is constrained by a UV cutoff as expected by quantum field theory. Our result shows that loop corrections of a fermion field have the same sign as those of a scalar field, and thus implies that the inclusion of fermion loop corrections may not help to alleviate the issue of IR divergence in inflationary cosmology.
