Compact embedded surfaces with constant mean curvature in $\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{R}$

We obtain compact orientable embedded surfaces with constant mean curvature $0<H<\frac{1}{2}$ and arbitrary genus in $\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{R}$. These surfaces have dihedral symmetry and desingularize a pair of spheres with mean curvature $\frac{1}{2}$ tangent along an equator. This is a particular case of a conjugate Plateau construction of doubly periodic surfaces with constant mean curvature in $\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{R}$, $\mathbb{H}^2\times\mathbb{R}$, and $\mathbb{R}^3$ with bounded height and enjoying the symmetries of certain tessellations of $\mathbb{S}^2$, $\mathbb{H}^2$, and $\mathbb{R}^2$ by regular polygons.

Dual quadratic differentials and entire minimal graphs in Heisenberg space

We define holomorphic quadratic differentials for spacelike surfaces with constant mean curvature in the Lorentzian homogeneous spaces $\mathbb{L}(κ,τ)$ with isometry group of dimension 4, which are dual to the Abresch-Rosenberg differentials in the Riemannian counterparts $\mathbb{E}(κ,τ)$, and obtain some consequences. On the one hand, we give a very short proof of the Bernstein problem in Heisenberg space, and provide a geometric description of the family of entire graphs sharing the same differential in terms of a 2-parameter conformal deformation. On the other hand, we prove that entire minimal graphs in Heisenberg space have negative Gauss curvature.

New examples of constant mean curvature surfaces in $\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{R}$ and $\mathbb{H}^2\times \mathbb{R}$

We construct non-zero constant mean curvature H surfaces in the product spaces $\mathbb{S}^2 \times \mathbb{R}$ and $\mathbb{H}^2\times \mathbb{R}$ by using suitable conjugate Plateau constructions. The resulting surfaces are complete, have bounded height and are invariant under a discrete group of horizontal translations. In $\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{R}$ (for any $H > 0$) or $\mathbb{H}^2\times\mathbb{R}$ (for $H > 1/2$), a 1-parameter family of unduloid-type surfaces is obtained, some of which are shown to be compact in $\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{R}$. Finally, in the case of $H = 1/2$ in $\mathbb{H}^2 \times \mathbb{R}$, the constructed examples have the symmetries of a tessellation of $\mathbb{H}^2$ by regular polygons.

Estimates for constant mean curvature graphs in MxR

We will discuss some sharp estimates for CMC graphs in a Riemannian 3-manifold MxR whose boundary is contained in a slice. We will start by giving sharp lower bounds for the geodesic curvature of the boundary and improve these bounds when assuming additional restrictions on the maximum height that such a surface reaches in MxR. We will also give a lower bound for the distance from an interior point to the boundary in terms of the height at that point, and characterize when these bounds are attained.

On complete constant mean curvature vertical multigraphs in E(κ,τ)

We prove that any complete surface with constant mean curvature in a homogeneous space E(κ,τ) which is transversal to the vertical Killing vector field is, in fact, a vertical graph. As a consequence we get that any orientable, parabolic, complete, immersed surface with constant mean curvature H in E(κ,τ) (different from a horizontal slice in S^2xR) is either a vertical cylinder or a vertical graph (in both cases, it must be 4H^2+κ\leq0).

On the classification of Killing submersions and their isometries

A Killing submersion is a Riemannian submersion from an orientable 3-manifold to an orientable surface whose fibers are the integral curves of a unit Killing vector field in the 3-manifold. We classify all Killing submersions over simply-connected Riemannian surfaces and give explicit models for many Killing submersions including those over simply-connected constant Gaussian curvature surfaces. We also fully describe the isometries of the total space preserving the vertical direction. As a consequence, we prove that the only simply-connected homogeneous 3-manifolds which admit a structure of Killing submersion are the E(κ,τ)-spaces, whose isometry group has dimension at least 4.
