Vision-based Anti-UAV Detection and Tracking

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) have been widely used in various fields, and their invasion of security and privacy has aroused social concern. Several detection and tracking systems for UAVs have been introduced in recent years, but most of them are based on radio frequency, radar, and other media. We assume that the field of computer vision is mature enough to detect and track invading UAVs. Thus we propose a visible light mode dataset called Dalian University of Technology Anti-UAV dataset, DUT Anti-UAV for short. It contains a detection dataset with a total of 10,000 images and a tracking dataset with 20 videos that include short-term and long-term sequences. All frames and images are manually annotated precisely. We use this dataset to train several existing detection algorithms and evaluate the algorithms' performance. Several tracking methods are also tested on our tracking dataset. Furthermore, we propose a clear and simple tracking algorithm combined with detection that inherits the detector's high precision. Extensive experiments show that the tracking performance is improved considerably after fusing detection, thus providing a new attempt at UAV tracking using our dataset. The datasets and results are publicly available at: https://github.com/wangdongdut/DUT-Anti-UAV

3-Rainbow index and forbidden subgraphs

A tree in an edge-colored connected graph $G$ is called \emph{a rainbow tree} if no two edges of it are assigned the same color. For a vertex subset $S\subseteq V(G)$, a tree is called an \emph{$S$-tree} if it connects $S$ in $G$. A \emph{$k$-rainbow coloring} of $G$ is an edge-coloring of $G$ having the property that for every set $S$ of $k$ vertices of $G$, there exists a rainbow $S$-tree in $G$. The minimum number of colors that are needed in a $k$-rainbow coloring of $G$ is the \emph{$k$-rainbow index} of $G$, denoted by $rx_k(G)$. The \emph{Steiner distance $d(S)$} of a set $S$ of vertices of $G$ is the minimum size of an $S$-tree $T$. The \emph{$k$-Steiner diameter $sdiam_k(G)$} of $G$ is defined as the maximum Steiner distance of $S$ among all sets $S$ with $k$ vertices of $G$. In this paper, we focus on the 3-rainbow index of graphs and find all finite families $\mathcal{F}$ of connected graphs, for which there is a constant $C_\mathcal{F}$ such that, for every connected $\mathcal{F}$-free graph $G$, $rx_3(G)\leq sdiam_3(G)+C_\mathcal{F}$.

Nordhaus-Gaddum-type theorem for total proper connection number of graphs

A graph is said to be \emph{total-colored} if all the edges and the vertices of the graph are colored. A path $P$ in a total-colored graph $G$ is called a \emph{total-proper path} if $(i)$ any two adjacent edges of $P$ are assigned distinct colors; $(ii)$ any two adjacent internal vertices of $P$ are assigned distinct colors; $(iii)$ any internal vertex of $P$ is assigned a distinct color from its incident edges of $P$. The total-colored graph $G$ is \emph{total-proper connected} if any two distinct vertices of $G$ are connected by a total-proper path. The \emph{total-proper connection number} of a connected graph $G$, denoted by $tpc(G)$, is the minimum number of colors that are required to make $G$ total-proper connected. In this paper, we first characterize the graphs $G$ on $n$ vertices with $tpc(G)=n-1$. Based on this, we obtain a Nordhaus-Gaddum-type result for total-proper connection number. We prove that if $G$ and $\overline{G}$ are connected complementary graphs on $n$ vertices, then $6\leq tpc(G)+tpc(\overline{G})\leq n+2$. Examples are given to show that the lower bound is sharp for $n\geq 4$. The upper bound is reached for $n\geq 5$ if and only if $G$ or $\overline{G}$ is the tree with maximum degree $n-2$.

Rainbow vertex-connection and forbidden subgraphs

A path in a vertex-colored graph is called \emph{vertex-rainbow} if its internal vertices have pairwise distinct colors. A graph $G$ is \emph{rainbow vertex-connected} if for any two distinct vertices of $G$, there is a vertex-rainbow path connecting them. For a connected graph $G$, the \emph{rainbow vertex-connection number} of $G$, denoted by $rvc(G)$, is defined as the minimum number of colors that are required to make $G$ rainbow vertex-connected. In this paper, we find all the families $\mathcal{F}$ of connected graphs with $|\mathcal{F}|\in\{1,2\}$, for which there is a constant $k_\mathcal{F}$ such that, for every connected $\mathcal{F}$-free graph $G$, $rvc(G)\leq diam(G)+k_\mathcal{F}$, where $diam(G)$ is the diameter of $G$.

The $k$-proper index of complete bipartite and complete multipartite graphs

Let $G$ be a nontrivial connected graph of order $n$ with an edge-coloring $c:E(G)\rightarrow\{1,2,\dots,t\}$,$t\in\mathbb{N}$, where adjacent edges may be colored with the same color. A tree $T$ in $G$ is a \emph{proper tree} if no two adjacent edges of it are assigned the same color. Let $k$ be a fixed integer with $2\leq k\leq n$. For a vertex subset $S\subseteq V(G)$ with $|S|\geq 2$, a tree is called an \emph{$S$-tree} if it connects $S$ in $G$ . A \emph{$k$-proper coloring} of $G$ is an edge-coloring of $G$ having the property that for every set $S$ of $k$ vertices of $G$, there exists a proper $S$-tree $T$ in $G$. The minimum number of colors that are needed in a $k$-proper coloring of $G$ is defined as the \emph{$k$-proper index} of $G$, denoted by $px_k(G)$. In this paper, we determine the 3-proper index of all complete bipartite and complete multipartite graphs and partially determine the $k$-proper index of them for $k\geq 4$.
