Fast Image Super-Resolution via Consistency Rectified Flow

Diffusion models (DMs) have demonstrated remarkable success in real-world image super-resolution (SR), yet their reliance on time-consuming multi-step sampling largely hinders their practical applications. While recent efforts have introduced few- or single-step solutions, existing methods either inefficiently model the process from noisy input or fail to fully exploit iterative generative priors, compromising the fidelity and quality of the reconstructed images. To address this issue, we propose FlowSR, a novel approach that reformulates the SR problem as a rectified flow from low-resolution (LR) to high-resolution (HR) images. Our method leverages an improved consistency learning strategy to enable high-quality SR in a single step. Specifically, we refine the original consistency distillation process by incorporating HR regularization, ensuring that the learned SR flow not only enforces self-consistency but also converges precisely to the ground-truth HR target. Furthermore, we introduce a fast-slow scheduling strategy, where adjacent timesteps for consistency learning are sampled from two distinct schedulers: a fast scheduler with fewer timesteps to improve efficiency, and a slow scheduler with more timesteps to capture fine-grained texture details. Extensive experiments demonstrate that FlowSR achieves outstanding performance in both efficiency and image quality.

TextLDM: Language Modeling with Continuous Latent Diffusion

Diffusion Transformers (DiT) trained with flow matching in a VAE latent space have unified visual generation across images and videos. A natural next step toward a single architecture for both generation (visual synthesis) and understanding (text generation) is to apply this framework to language modeling. We propose TextLDM, which transfers the visual latent diffusion recipe to text generation with minimal architectural modification. A Transformer-based VAE maps discrete tokens to continuous latents, enhanced by Representation Alignment (REPA) with a frozen pretrained language model to produce representations effective for conditional denoising. A standard DiT then performs flow matching in this latent space, identical in architecture to its visual counterpart. The central challenge we address is obtaining high-quality continuous text representations: we find that reconstruction fidelity alone is insufficient, and that aligning latent features with a pretrained language model via REPA is critical for downstream generation quality. Trained from scratch on OpenWebText2, TextLDM substantially outperforms prior diffusion language models and matches GPT-2 under the same settings. Our results establish that the visual DiT recipe transfers effectively to language, taking a concrete step toward unified diffusion architectures for multimodal generation and understanding.

Deep Texture-Aware Features for Camouflaged Object Detection

Camouflaged object detection is a challenging task that aims to identify objects having similar texture to the surroundings. This paper presents to amplify the subtle texture difference between camouflaged objects and the background for camouflaged object detection by formulating multiple texture-aware refinement modules to learn the texture-aware features in a deep convolutional neural network. The texture-aware refinement module computes the covariance matrices of feature responses to extract the texture information, designs an affinity loss to learn a set of parameter maps that help to separate the texture between camouflaged objects and the background, and adopts a boundary-consistency loss to explore the object detail structures. We evaluate our network on the benchmark dataset for camouflaged object detection both qualitatively and quantitatively. Experimental results show that our approach outperforms various state-of-the-art methods by a large margin.

ReCon: Revealing and Controlling PII Leaks in Mobile Network Traffic

It is well known that apps running on mobile devices extensively track and leak users' personally identifiable information (PII); however, these users have little visibility into PII leaked through the network traffic generated by their devices, and have poor control over how, when and where that traffic is sent and handled by third parties. In this paper, we present the design, implementation, and evaluation of ReCon: a cross-platform system that reveals PII leaks and gives users control over them without requiring any special privileges or custom OSes. ReCon leverages machine learning to reveal potential PII leaks by inspecting network traffic, and provides a visualization tool to empower users with the ability to control these leaks via blocking or substitution of PII. We evaluate ReCon's effectiveness with measurements from controlled experiments using leaks from the 100 most popular iOS, Android, and Windows Phone apps, and via an IRB-approved user study with 92 participants. We show that ReCon is accurate, efficient, and identifies a wider range of PII than previous approaches.
