A robust Corrádi--Hajnal Theorem

For a graph GG and p∈[0,1]p\in[0,1], we denote by GpG_p the random sparsification of GG obtained by keeping each edge of GG independently, with probability pp. We show that there exists a C>0C>0 such that if p≥C(log⁡n)1/3n−2/3p\geq C(\log n)^{1/3}n^{-2/3} and GG is an nn-vertex graph with n∈3Nn\in 3\mathbb{N} and δ(G)≥2n3δ(G)\geq \tfrac{2n}{3}, then with high probability GpG_p contains a triangle factor. Both the minimum degree condition and the probability condition, up to the choice of CC, are tight. Our result can be viewed as a common strengthening of the seminal theorems of Corrádi and Hajnal, which deals with the extremal minimum degree condition for containing triangle factors (corresponding to p=1p=1 in our result), and Johansson, Kahn and Vu, which deals with the threshold for the appearance of a triangle factor in G(n,p)G(n,p) (corresponding to G=KnG=K_n in our result). It also implies a lower bound on the number of triangle factors in graphs with minimum degree at least 2n3\tfrac{2n}{3} which gets close to the truth.

Balanced supersaturation for some degenerate hypergraphs

A classical theorem of Simonovits from the 1980s asserts that every graph GG satisfying e(G)≫v(G)1+1/k{e(G) \gg v(G)^{1+1/k}} must contain ≳(e(G)v(G))2k\gtrsim \left(\frac{e(G)}{v(G)}\right)^{2k} copies of C2kC_{2k}. Recently, Morris and Saxton established a balanced version of Simonovits' theorem, showing that such GG has ≳(e(G)v(G))2k\gtrsim \left(\frac{e(G)}{v(G)}\right)^{2k} copies of C2kC_{2k}, which are `uniformly distributed' over the edges of GG. Moreover, they used this result to obtain a sharp bound on the number of C2kC_{2k}-free graphs via the container method. In this paper, we generalise Morris-Saxton's results for even cycles to ΘΘ-graphs. We also prove analogous results for complete rr-partite rr-graphs.

Partitioning edge-coloured hypergraphs into few monochromatic tight cycles

Confirming a conjecture of Gyárfás, we prove that, for all natural numbers kk and rr, the vertices of every rr-edge-coloured complete kk-uniform hypergraph can be partitioned into a bounded number (independent of the size of the hypergraph) of monochromatic tight cycles. We further prove that, for for all natural numbers pp and rr, the vertices of every rr-edge-coloured complete graph can be partitioned into a bounded number of pp-th powers of cycles, settling a problem of Elekes, Soukup, Soukup and Szentmiklóssy. In fact we prove a common generalisation of both theorems which further extends these results to all host hypergraphs of bounded independence number.
