Quantum deformations of D=4 Euclidean, Lorentz, Kleinian and quaternionic o^*(4) symmetries in unified o(4;C) setting

We employ new calculational technique and present complete list of classical $r$-matrices for $D=4$ complex homogeneous orthogonal Lie algebra $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$, the rotational symmetry of four-dimensional complex space-time. Further applying reality conditions we obtain the classical $r$-matrices for all possible real forms of $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$: Euclidean $\mathfrak{o}(4)$, Lorentz $\mathfrak{o}(3,1)$, Kleinian $\mathfrak{o}(2,2)$ and quaternionic $\mathfrak{o}^{\star}(4)$ Lie algebras. For $\mathfrak{o}(3,1)$ we get known four classical $D=4$ Lorentz $r$-matrices, but for other real Lie algebras (Euclidean, Kleinian, quaternionic) we provide new results and mention some applications.

Two-twistor particle models and free massive higher spin fields

We present D=3 and D=4 models for massive particles moving in a new type of enlarged spacetime, with D-1 additional vector coordinates, which after quantization lead to the towers of massive higher spin (HS) free fields. Two classically equivalent formulations are presented: one with a hybrid spacetime/bispinor geometry and a second described by a free two-twistor dynamics with constraints. After quantization in the D=3 and D=4 cases, the wave functions are given as functions on the SL(2,R) and SL(2,C) group manifolds respectively, and describe arbitrary on-shell momenta and spin degrees of freedom. Finally, the D=6 case and possible supersymmetric extensions are mentioned.

New class of quantum deformations of D=4 Euclidean supersymmetry

We present the class of deformations of simple Euclidean superalgebra, which describe the supersymmetrization of some Lie algebraic noncommutativity of D=4 Euclidean space-time. The presented deformations are generated by the supertwists. We provide new explicit formulae for a chosen twisted D=4 Euclidean Hopf superalgebra and describe the corresponding quantum covariant deformation of chiral Euclidean superspace.

Maxwell symmetries and some applications

The Maxwell algebra is the result of enlarging the Poincaré algebra by six additional tensorial Abelian generators that make the fourmomenta non-commutative. We present a local gauge theory based on the Maxwell algebra with vierbein, spin connection and six additional geometric Abelian gauge fields. We apply this geometric framework to the construction of Maxwell gravity, which is described by the Einstein action plus a generalized cosmological term. We mention a Friedman-Robertson-Walker cosmological approximation to the Maxwell gravity field equations, with two scalar fields obtained from the additional gauge fields. Finally, we outline further developments of the Maxwell symmetries framework.

N=1/2 Deformations of Chiral Superspaces from New Quantum Poincare and Euclidean Superalgebras

We present a large class of supersymmetric classical r-matrices, describing the supertwist deformations of Poincare and Euclidean superalgebras. We consider in detail new family of four supertwists of N=1 Poincare superalgebra and provide as well their Euclidean counterpart. The proposed supertwists are better adjusted to the description of deformed D=4 Euclidean supersymmetries with independent left-chiral and right-chiral supercharges. They lead to new quantum superspaces, obtained by the superextension of twist deformations of spacetime providing Lie-algebraic noncommutativity of space-time coordinates. In the Hopf-algebraic Euclidean SUSY framework the considered supertwist deformations provide an alternative to the N=1/2 SUSY Seiberg's star product deformation scheme.

Nonrelativistic counterparts of twistors and the realizations of Galilean conformal algebra

Using the notion of Galilean conformal algebra (GCA) in arbitrary space dimension d, we introduce for d=3 quantized nonrelativistic counterpart of twistors as the spinorial representation of O(2,1){\oplus}SO(3) which is the maximal semisimple subalgebra of three-dimensional GCA. The GC-covariant quantization of such nonrelativistic spinors, which shall be called also Galilean twistors, is presented. We consider for d=3 the general spinorial matrix realizations of GCA, which are further promoted to quantum-mechanical operator representations, expressed as bilinears in quantized Galilean twistors components. For arbitrary Hermitian quantum-mechanical Galilean twistor realizations we obtain the result that the representations of GCA with positive-definite Hamiltonian do not exist. For non-positive H we construct for N{\geq}2 the Hermitian Galilean N-twistor realizations of GCA; for N=2 such realization is provided explicitly.

Once again about quantum deformations of D=4 Lorentz algebra: twistings of q-deformation

This paper together with the previous one (arXiv:hep-th/0604146) presents the detailed description of all quantum deformations of D=4 Lorentz algebra as Hopf algebra in terms of complex and real generators. We describe here in detail two quantum deformations of the D=4 Lorentz algebra o(3,1) obtained by twisting of the standard q-deformation U_{q}(o(3,1)). For the first twisted q-deformation an Abelian twist depending on Cartan generators of o(3,1) is used. The second example of twisting provides a quantum deformation of Cremmer-Gervais type for the Lorentz algebra. For completeness we describe also twisting of the Lorentz algebra by standard Jordanian twist. By twist quantization techniques we obtain for these deformations new explicit formulae for the deformed coproducts and antipodes of the o(3,1)-generators.

Acceleration-Enlarged Symmetries in Nonrelativistic Space-Time with a Cosmological Constant

By considering the nonrelativistic limit of de-Sitter geometry one obtains the nonrelativistic space-time with a cosmological constant and Newton-Hooke (NH) symmetries. We show that the NH symmetry algebra can be enlarged by the addition of the constant acceleration generators and endowed with central extensions (one in any dimension (D) and three in D=(2+1)). We present a classical Lagrangian and Hamiltonian framework for constructing models quasi-invariant under enlarged NH symmetries which depend on three parameters described by three nonvanishing central charges. The Hamiltonian dynamics then splits into external and internal sectors with new non-commutative structures of external and internal phase spaces. We show that in the limit of vanishing cosmological constant the system reduces to the one presented in [1] which possesses accelaration-enlarged Galilean symmetries.

Gravity on de-Sitter 3-Brane, Induced Einstein-Hilbert Term and Massless Gravitons

We study the extensions of DGP model which are described by five-dimensional Einstein gravity coupled covariantly to 3-brane with induced gravity term and consider warped D=4 de Sitter background field solutions on the brane. The case with included D=5 AdS cosmological term is also considered. Following background field method we obtain the field equations described by the Lagrangean terms bilinear in gravitational field. In such a linear field approximation on curved dS background we calculate explicitly the five-dimensional massive terms as well as the mass-like ones on the brane. We investigate the eigenvalue problem of Schrödinger-like equation in fifth dimension for graviton masses and discuss the existence of massless as well as massive graviton modes in the bulk and on the brane without and with induced gravity.

Massive Relativistic Particle Models with Bosonic Counterpart of Supersymmetry

We consider the massive relativistic particle models on fourdimensional Minkowski space extended by $N$ commuting Weyl spinors for N=1 and N=2. The N=1 model is invariant under the most general form of bosonic counterpart of simple D=4 supersymmetry, and provides after quantization the bosonic counterpart of chiral superfields, satisfying Klein--Gordon equation. In massless case these fields do satisfy the Fierz-Pauli equations. For N=2 we obtain after quantization the free massive higher spin fields for arbitrary spin satisfying linear Bargman--Wigner equations. Finally the problem of statistics in presented framework for half--integer classical spin fields is discussed.

N=2 Supersymmetric Planar Particles and Magnetic Interaction from Noncommutativity

We describe a N=2 supersymmetric extension of the nonrelativistic (2+1)-dimensional model describing particles on the noncommutative plane with scalar (electric) and vector (magnetic) interactions. First, we employ the N=2 superfield technique and show that in the presence of a scalar N=2 superpotential the magnetic interaction is implied by the presence of noncommutativity of position variables. Further, by expressing the supersymmetric Hamiltonian as a bilinear in N=2 supercharges we obtain two supersymmetric models with electromagnetic interactions and two different noncanonical symplectic structures describing noncommutativity. We show that both models are related by a map of the Seiberg-Witten type.

Doubly Special Relativity versus $κ$-deformation of relativistic kinematics

We argue that recently proposed by Amelino-Camelia et all [1,2] so-called doubly special relativity (DSR), with deformed boost transformations identical with the formulae for $κ$-deformed kinematics in bicrossproduct basis is a classical special relativity in nonlinear disguise. The choice of symmetric composition law for deformed fourmomenta as advocated in [1, 2] implies that DSR is obtained by considering nonlinear fourmomenta basis of classical Poincaré algebra and it does not lead to noncommutative space-time. We also show how to construct large two classes of doubly special relativity theories - generalizing the choice in [1,2] and the one presented by Magueijo and Smolin [3]. The older version of deformed relativistic kinematics, differing essentially from classical theory in the coalgebra sector and leading to noncommutative $κ$-deformed Minkowski space is provided by quantum $κ$-deformation of Poincaré symmetries.

Generalized kappa-Deformations and Deformed Relativistic Scalar Fields on Noncommutative Minkowski Space

We describe the generalized kappa-deformations of D=4 relativistic symmetries with finite masslike deformation parameter kappa and an arbitrary direction in kappa-deformed Minkowski space being noncommutative. The corresponding bicovariant differential calculi on kappa-deformed Minkowski spaces are considered. Two distinguished cases are discussed: 5D noncommutative differential calculus (kappa-deformation in time-like or space-like direction), and 4D noncommutative differential calculus having the classical dimension (noncommutative kappa-deformation in light-like direction). We introduce also left and right vector fields acting on functions of noncommutative Minkowski coordinates, and describe the noncommutative differential realizations of kappa-deformed Poincare algebra. The kappa-deformed Klein-Gordon field on noncommutative Minkowski space with noncommutative time (standard kappa-deformation) as well as noncommutative null line (light-like kappa-deformation) are discussed. Following our earlier proposal (see {1,2]) we introduce an equivalent framework replacing the local noncommutative field theory by the nonlocal commutative description with suitable nonlocal star product multiplication rules. The modification of Pauli--Jordan commutator function is described and the kappa-dependence of its light-cone behaviour in coordinate space is explicitly given. The problem with the kappa-deformed energy- momentum conservation law is recalled.

On kappa-deformed D=4 quantum conformal group

This paper is presented on the occasion of 60-th birthday of Jose Adolfo de Azcarraga who in his very rich scientific curriculum vitae has also a chapter devoted to studies of quantum-deformed symmetries, in particular deformations of relativistic and Galilean space-time symmetries [1-4]. In this paper we provide new steps toward describing the $κ$-deformed D=4 conformal group transformations. We consider the quantization of D=4 conformal group with dimensionful deformation parameter $κ$. Firstly we discuss the noncommutativity following from the Lie-Poisson structure described by the light-cone $κ$-Poincaré $r$-matrix. We present complete set of D=4 conformal Lie-Poisson brackets and discuss their quantization. Further we define the light-cone $κ$-Poincaré quantum $R$-matrix in O(4,2) vector representation and discuss the inclusion of noncommutative conformal translations into the framework of $κ$-deformed conformal quantum group. The problem with real structure of $κ$-deformed conformal group is pointed out.

κ-deformations of D=4 Weyl and conformal symmetries

We provide first explicite examples of quantum deformations of D=4 conformal algebra with mass-like deformation parameters, in applications to quantum gravity effects related with Planck mass. It is shown that one of the classical $r$-matrices defined on the Borel subalgebra of $sl(4)$ with $o(4,2)$ reality conditions describes the light-cone $κ$-deformation of D=4 Poincaré algebra. We embed this deformation into the three-parameter family of generalized $κ$-deformations, with $r$-matrices depending additionally on the dilatation generator. Using the extended Jordanian twists framework we describe these deformations in the form of noncocommutative Hopf algebra. We describe also another four-parameter class of generalized $κ$-deformations, which is obtained by continuous deformation of distinguished $κ$-deformation of D=4 Weyl algebra, called here the standard $κ$-deformation of Weyl algebra.

Nonlinear and Quantum Origin of Doubly Infinite Family of Modified Addition Laws for Fourmomenta

We show that infinite variety of Poincaré bialgebras with nontrivial classical r-matrices generate nonsymmetric nonlinear composition laws for the fourmomenta. We also present the problem of lifting the Poincaré bialgebras to quantum Poincaré groups by using e.g. Drinfeld twist, what permits to provide the nonlinear composition law in any order of dimensionfull deformation parmeter $λ$ (from physical reasons we can put $λ= λ_{p}$ where $λ_{p}$ is the Planck lenght). The second infinite variety of composition laws for fourmomentum is obtained by nonlinear change of basis in Poincaré algebra, which can be performed for any choice of coalgebraic sector, with classical or quantum coproduct. In last Section we propose some modification of Hopf algebra scheme with Casimir-dependent deformation parameter, which can help to resolve the problem of consistent passage to macroscopic classical limit.

$κ$--deformed Wigner construction of relativistic wave functions and free fields on $κ$-Minkowski space

We describe the extension of the Wigner`s infinite-dimensional unitary representations of Poincaré group to the case of $κ$-deformed Poincaré group. We show that the corresponding coordinate wave functions on noncommutative space-time are described by free field equations on $κ$-deformed Minkowski space. The cases of Klein--Gordon, Dirac, Proca and Maxwell fields are considered. Finally some aspects of second quantization are also discussed.

Absorption of TeV Photons and $κ$-deformed Poincaré algebra

We consider the process of collision between a hard photon and a soft photon producing an electron-positron pair, under the assumption that the kinematics be described according to the $κ$-deformation of the D=4 Poincaré algebra. We emphasize the relevance of this analysis for the understanding of the puzzling observations of multi-TeV photons from Markarian 501. We find a significant effect of the $κ$-deformation for processes above threshold, while, in agreement with a previous study, we find that there is no leading-order deformation of the threshold condition.

Noncommutative Parameters of Quantum Symmetries and Star Products

The star product technique translates the framework of local fields on noncommutative space-time into nonlocal fields on standard space-time. We consider the example of fields on $κ$- deformed Minkowski space, transforming under $κ$-deformed Poincaré group with noncommutative parameters. By extending the star product to the tensor product of functions on $κ$-deformed Minkowski space and $κ$-deformed Poincaré group we represent the algebra of noncommutative parameters of deformed relativistic symmetries by functions on classical Poincaré group.

Unified description of quantum affine (super)algebras U_q(A_{1}^{(1)}) and U_q(C(2)^{(2)})

We show that the quantum affine algebra U_{q}(A_{1}^{(1)}) and the quantum affine superalgebra U_{q}(C(2)^{(2)}) admit unified description. The difference between them consists in the phase factor which is equal to 1 for U_{q}(A_{1}^{(1)}) and is equal to -1 for U_{q}(C(2)^{(2)}). We present such a description for the construction of Cartan-Weyl generators and their commutation relations, as well for the universal R-matrices.

Local D=4 Field Theory on $κ$--Deformed Minkowski Space

We describe the local D=4 field theory on $κ$--deformed Minkowski space as nonlocal relativistic field theory on standard Minkowski space--time. For simplicity the case of $κ$-deformed scalar field $ϕ$ with the interaction $λϕ^{4}$ is considered, and the $κ$--deformed interaction vertex is described. It appears that fundamental mass parameter $κ$ plays a role of regularizing imaginary Pauli--Villars mass in $κ$--deformed propagator.

The classical basis for $κ$-deformed Poincaré (super)algebra and the second $κ$-deformed supersymmetric Casimir

We present here the general solution describing generators of \kdef \poin algebra as the functions of classical \poin algebra generators as well as the inverse formulae. Further we present analogous relations for the generators of N=1 D=4 \kdef \poin superalgebra expressed by the classical \poin superalgebra generators. In such a way we obtain the \kdef \poin (super)algebras with all the quantum deformation present only in the coalgebra sector. Using the classical basis of \kdef \poin superalgebra we obtain as a new result the $\k$-deformation of supersymmetric covariant spin square Casimir.

Classical and Quantum Mechanics of Free \k Relativistic Systems

We consider the Hamiltonian and Lagrangian formalism describing free \k-relativistic particles with their four-momenta constrained to the \k-deformed mass shell. We study the modifications of the formalism which follow from the introduction of space coordinates with nonvanishing Poisson brackets and from the redefinitions of the energy operator. The quantum mechanics of free \k-relativistic particles and of the free \k-relativistic oscillator is also presented. It is shown that the \k-relativistic oscillator describes a quantum statistical ensemble with finite Hagedorn temperature. The relation to a \k-deformed Schrödinger quantum mechanics in which the time derivative is replaced by a finite difference derivative is also discussed.
