Köthe's Problem, Kurosch-Levitzki Problem and Graded Rings

Let $\mathfrak{R}$ be an associative ring graded by left cancellative monoid $\mathsf{S}$, and $e$ the neutral element of $\mathsf{S}$. We study the following problem: if $\mathfrak{R}_e$ is nil, then is $\mathfrak{R}$ nil/nilpotent? We have proved that if $\mathfrak{R}_e$ is nil (of bounded index) and $\mathsf{f}$- commutative, then $\mathfrak{R}$ is nil (of bounded index). Later, we have shown that $\mathfrak{R}_e$ being nilpotent implies $\mathfrak{R}$ is nilpotent. Consequently, we have exhibited a generalization of Dubnov-Ivanov-Nagata-Higman Theorem for the graded algebras case. Furthermore, we have exhibited relations between graded rings and the problems of Köthe and Kurosh-Levitzki. We have proved that graded rings and $\mathsf{f}$-commutative rings provide positive solutions to these problems.

One proof of the original Kemer's theorems (concerning the text of C. Procesi "What happened to PI-theory", arxiv.org/abs/1403.5673)

We consider associative algebras over a field of characteristic zero. We give a version of the proof of the Kemer's theorems concerning the Specht problem solution. It is proved that the ideal of graded identities of a finitely generated PI-superalgebra coincides with the ideal of graded identities of some finite dimensional superalgebra. This implies that the ideal of polynomial identities of any (not necessary finitely generated) PI-algebra coincides with the ideal of identities of the Grassmann envelope of a finite dimensional superalgebra, and is finitely generated as a T-ideal.

Finite basis problem for identities with involution

We consider associative algebras with involution over a field of characteristic zero. We proved that any algebra with involution satisfies the same identities with involution as the Grassmann envelope of some finite dimensional $Z_4$-graded algebra with graded involution. As a consequence we obtain the positive solution of the Specht problem for identities with involution: any associative algebra with involution over a field of characteristic zero has a finite basis of identities with involution. These results are analogs of theorems of A.R.Kemer for ordinary identities.

Identities of finitely generated graded algebras with involution

We consider associative algebras with involution graded by a finite abelian group G over a field of characteristic zero. Suppose that the involution is compatible with the grading. We represent conditions permitting PI-representability of such algebras. Particularly, it is proved that a finitely generated (Z/qZ)-graded associative PI-algebra with involution satisfies exactly the same graded identities with involution as some finite dimensional (Z/qZ)-graded algebra with involution for any prime q or q = 4. This is an analogue of the theorem of A.Kemer for ordinary identities, and an extension of the result of the author for identities with involution. The similar results were proved also recentely for graded identities.

Limit T-subspaces and the central polynomials in n variables of the Grassmann algebra

Let F<X> be the free unitary associative algebra over a field F on the set X = {x_1, x_2, ...}. A vector subspace V of F<X> is called a T-subspace (or a T-space) if V is closed under all endomorphisms of F<X>. A T-subspace V in F<X> is limit if every larger T-subspace W \gneqq V is finitely generated (as a T-subspace) but V itself is not. Recently Brandão Jr., Koshlukov, Krasilnikov and Silva have proved that over an infinite field F of characteristic p>2 the T-subspace C(G) of the central polynomials of the infinite dimensional Grassmann algebra G is a limit T-subspace. They conjectured that this limit T-subspace in F<X> is unique, that is, there are no limit T-subspaces in F<X> other than C(G). In the present article we prove that this is not the case. We construct infinitely many limit T-subspaces R_k (k \ge 1) in the algebra F<X> over an infinite field F of characteristic p>2. For each k \ge 1, the limit T-subspace R_k arises from the central polynomials in 2k variables of the Grassmann algebra G.
