Influence of moments of inertia on transverse wobbling mode in odd-mass nuclei

The reported transverse wobbling band in odd-mass 105^{105}Pd has been reinvestigated by the triaxial particle rotor model. Employing different parameter sets of moment of inertia (MOI), several calculated results could be in good agreement with the experimental data, which show distinct modes of rotational excitation, respectively. These modes are sensitive to the ratio between the MOI at intermediate and short axis. With the increase of this ratio, a wobble about the short axis of the total angular momentum is gradually changed to a wobble about the intermediate axis. In addition, it is exhibited that precession and tunneling are two aspects of the quantum wobbling motion. The tunneling aspect dominates in the yrare states of 105^{105}Pd. The present results in 105^{105}Pd show the complexity of the transverse wobbling mode.

Exploration of the Doping Effect in the Thiolate-protected Gold Nanoclusters: DFT Simulations of H2S-nanoalloy Complexes

The atomically precise method has become an important technique to adjust the core of thiolate-protected gold nanoclusters to improve physical and chemical properties. But the doping effect on the structural stability has not been systematically summarized. In this work, the H2S-nanoalloy molecules with different doping metal atoms has been investigated to elucidate the impact of the dopant on the structures. With DFT simulation results, the zinc group atoms as dopants may be influenced by surrounded gold atoms and the binding of the thiolate units are enhanced. The simulated zinc group data when combined to the gold group and plantinum group data can be summarized in the perspective of balance between the ligand-core binding and core cohesive energies. Most of dopants drive the modeled nanoclusters away from the balance especially when the metal atom replaced the gold atom in gold-sulfur bindings. But when cores of the nanoclusters are dominated by gold atoms, the dopants may achieve "saturation" such that the balance in the doped clusters may be corrected. This work provide a simple profile to understand the internal shift of the structure introduced by the atomically precise method.

Electromagnetic transitions in multiple chiral doublet bands

Multiple chiral doublet bands (MχχD) in the 8080, 130 and 190190 mass regions are studied by the model of γγ=90∘^{\circ} triaxial rotor coupled with identical symmetric proton-neutron configurations. By selecting the suitable basis, the calculated wave functions are explicitly exhibited to be symmetric under the operator A^\hat{A}, which is defined as rotation by 90∘90^{\circ} about 3-axis with the exchange of valance proton and neutron. We found that both M1M1 and E2E2 transitions are allowed between the levels with different values of AA, while are forbidden between the levels with same values of AA. Such a selection rule holds true for MχχD in different mass regions.
