Distribution Functions of Radially Excited Pion using the Light-Front Quark Model

We investigate the internal structure of the ground ($1S$) and the first two radially excited ($2S,3S$) states of the pion within the light-front quark model. The valence Fock sector is described using pure harmonic-oscillator eigenstates and mixed states formed as orthogonal linear combinations of these eigenfunctions. The optimal wavefunction parameters are determined through a variational procedure based on a QCD-motivated effective Hamiltonian. Using the resulting light-front wavefunctions, we study the pion distribution amplitude, parton distribution function, and electromagnetic form factor. After QCD evolution, the ground state distribution amplitude and parton distribution function are found to be in good agreement with available experimental data. At the model scale, the parton distribution functions of the $1S$ and $2S$ states show clear sensitivity to state mixing, while the distribution amplitudes and electromagnetic form factors are weakly sensitive. In contrast, for the $3S$ state, all three observables exhibit a pronounced sensitivity to mixing. The decay constants of the mixed states are also found to decrease sequentially with increasing radial excitation.

Spectroscopy of $ρ$-meson in symmetric nuclear medium

In this work, we investigate the behavior of the light vector \(ρ\) meson in the presence of a symmetric nuclear medium at zero temperature. We calculate the mass and decay constant of the $ρ$-meson as well as the leading twist distribution amplitudes (DAs) in the light-front quark model in vacuum, which are further investigated at different baryonic densities. We also predict the Mellin moments of the DAs and decay width of the $ρ^0 \to e^+ e^-$ process in both vacuum and medium. The evolution of DAs is carried out by the leading order (LO) Efremov-Radyushkin-Brodsky-Lepage method and compared with available predictions. For better understanding of medium effects on $ρ$-meson, we have also predicted the in-medium charge ($G_C(Q^2)$), magnetic ($G_M(Q^2)$), and quadrupole ($G_Q(Q^2)$) form factors. The in-medium charge radii, magnetic moment, and quadrupole moment have also been predicted in this work. We have found that the nuclear medium induces appreciable modifications on the mass, weak decay constant, decay width, and distribution amplitudes of the \(ρ\) meson. However, the charge radii, magnetic moment, and quadrupole moment are observed to exhibit weaker sensitivity to changes in baryonic density.

Valence quark distribution of the pion inside a medium with finite baryon density: A Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model approach

We calculate the in-medium valence quark distribution of the pion immersed in a finite baryon density using the light-cone quark model. The medium-modified pion properties are obtained by using the constituent quark mass-dependent light cone wave functions. To obtain the constituent quark masses at finite baryon density, we employ the two-flavor Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model. We primarily focus on the in-medium electromagnetic form factor, distribution amplitude, and the parton distribution function of the pion. The parton distribution functions are also evolved from the model scale to a perturbative scale using next to leading order Dokshitzer-Gribov-Lipatov-Altarelli-Parisi evolution equations. Furthermore, our calculated form factors are compared with available experimental measurements and lattice quantum chromodynamics studies. We also examine the Mellin moments derived from our parton distribution functions in comparison with existing extractions and theoretical model predictions.

T-odd quark-gluon-quark correlation function in the light-front quark-diquark model

We have scrutinized the transverse momentum dependent quark-gluon-quark correlation function. We have utilized the light-front quark-diquark model to study the time-reversal-odd interaction-dependent twist-3 gluon distributions which we have obtained from the disintegration of the transverse momentum dependent quark-gluon-quark correlator. Specifically, we have studied the behavior of $\tilde{e}_{L}$ and $\tilde{e}_{T}$ while considering our diquark to be an axial-vector.

Light-front holographic $ρ$-meson distributions in the momentum space

We present the leading-twist quark transverse momentum-dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) for the spin-1 target, such as the $ρ$-meson, in the light-front framework. Specifically, we predict the TMDs in the light-front holographic model and compare with the light-front quark model predictions. We obtain the TMDs using the overlap of the light-front wave functions. We evaluate the ${\bf k}_\perp$ moments upto second order and compare with the available theoretical predictions. Further, we analyze the leading-twist parton distribution functions (PDFs) of the $ρ$-meson in the light-front holographic model which are found to be in accord with the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model and the light-front quark model predictions. We further study the QCD evolution of the PDFs. The positivity bounds on the TMDs and the PDFs are also discussed. We also present the quark spin densities in the transverse momentum plane for different polarization configurations of the quark and the $ρ$-meson target.

Tomography of light mesons in light-cone quark model

We investigate the tomographical structure of pion and kaon in light cone quark model (LCQM). In particular, we study the parton distribution amplitude (PDA) of pion and kaon. We obtain the parton distribution function (PDF) and the generalized parton distributions (GPDs) of the pion and kaon. The valence quark PDA and PDF of pion, after QCD evolution, are found to be consistent with the data from the E791 and the E615 experiments at Fermilab, respectively. Further, we investigate the transverse momentum distributions (TMDs) of pion and kaon. We also discuss the unpolarized TMD evolution for pion and kaon in this model.

Quark Wigner Distributions and GTMDs of Pion in the Light-Front Holographic Model

We investigate the quark Wigner distributions of the pion to reveal the multidimensional picture of pion. We have used the spin improved wave functions of pion deduced from the light-front holographic model of mesons. By using the Fock-state overlap representation, the Wigner distributions of an unpolarized, longitudinally polarized and transversely polarized quark inside the pion are calculated. We have presented the results of transverse Wigner distributions in impact-parameter space as well as in momentum space. In order to understand the role of skewness which gives the longitudinal momentum transfer between the quarks, we study the six-dimensional phase-space distribution: the generalized transverse momentum dependent parton distributions of pion for the case of zero skewness as well as for nonzero value of skewness.

Study of spin-spin correlations between quark and a spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ particle

We study the correlation between the fermion composite system and quark spins by using the light-cone quark-diquark model. We do the calculations for $u$-quark and $d$-quark in the fermion system by considering the different polarization configrations of both. The contribution from scalar and axial-vector diquarks is taken into account. The overlap represenation of light-front wavefunctions is used for the calculations. The spin-spin correlations for $u$ and $d$ quarks are presented in transverse impact-parameter plane and transverse momentum plane as well.

Nucleon structure functions and longitudinal spin asymmetries in the chiral quark constituent model

We have analysed the phenomenological dependence of the spin independent ($F_1^{p,n}$ and $F_2^{p,n}$) and the spin dependent ($g_1^{p,n}$) structure functions of the nucleon on the the Bjorken scaling variable $x$ using the unpolarized distribution functions of the quarks $q(x)$ and the polarized distribution functions of the quarks $Δq(x)$ respectively. The chiral constituent quark model ($χ$CQM), which is known to provide a satisfactory explanation of the proton spin crisis and related issues in the nonperturbative regime, has been used to compute explicitly the valence and sea quark flavor distribution functions of $p$ and $n$. In light of the improved precision of the world data, the $p$ and $n$ longitudinal spin asymmetries ($A_1^p(x)$ and $A_1^n(x)$) have been calculated. The implication of the presence of the sea quarks has been discussed for ratio of polarized to unpolarized quark distribution functions for up and down quarks in the $p$ and $n$ $\frac{Δu^p(x)}{u^p(x)}$, $\frac{Δd^p(x)}{d^p(x)}$, $\frac{Δu^n(x)}{u^n(x)}$, and $\frac{Δd^n(x)}{d^n(x)}$. The ratio of the $n$ and $p$ structure functions $R^{np}(x)=\frac{F_2^n(x)}{F_2^p(x)}$ has also been presented. The results have been compared with the recent available experimental observations. The results on the spin sum rule have also been included and compared with data and other recent approaches.

Chiral Odd Generalized Parton Distributions and Spin Densities in the Impact Parameter Space

In the present work we have studied the chiral odd Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) in the impact parameter space by assuming a flexible parametrization in a quark-diquark model. In order to obtain the explicit contributions from the up and down quarks, we have considered both the scalar (spin-0) and the axial-vector (spin-1) configurations for the diquark. We have also studied the spin densities for the up and down quarks in this model for monopole, dipole and quadrupole contributions for unpolarized and polarized quarks in unpolarized and polarized proton.

Generalized Parton Distributions of proton for non zero skewness in transverse and longitudinal position spaces

We investigate the Generalized Parton Distributions(GPDs) of proton by expressing them in terms of overlaps of light front wave functions (LFWFs) using a simulated model which is able to qualitatively improve the convergence near the end points of $x$. We study the spin non-flip $H(x, ζ, t)$ and spin flip $E(x, ζ, t)$ part of GPDs for the particle conserving $n \rightarrow n$ overlap in the DGLAP region $(ζ<x<1)$. The Fourier transform (FT) of the GPDs w.r.t. to the transverse momentum transfer as well the FT of the GPDs w.r.t. $ζ$ have also been obtained giving the distribution of partons in the transverse position space and the distribution in the longitudinal position space respectively. Diffraction pattern is obtained for both $ \mathcal{H}(x,σ,t)$ and $ \mathcal{E}(x,σ,t)$ in the longitudinal position space.

Magnetic moments of $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^+$ decuplet baryons using effective quark masses in chiral constituent quark model

The magnetic moments of $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^+$ decuplet baryons have been calculated in the chiral constituent quark model ($χ$CQM) with explicit results for the contribution coming from the valence quark polarizations, sea quark polarizations, and their orbital angular momentum. Since the $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^+$ decuplet baryons have short lifetimes, the experimental information about them is limited. The $χ$CQM has important implications for chiral symmetry breaking as well as SU(3) symmetry breaking since it works in the region between the QCD confinement scale and the chiral symmetry breaking scale. The predictions in the model not only give a satisfactory fit when compared with the experimental data but also show improvement over the other models. The effect of the confinement on quark masses has also been discussed in detail and the results of $χ$CQM are found to improve further with the inclusion of effective quark masses.

Quark flavor distribution functions for the octet baryons in the chiral quark constituent model

The quark flavor distribution functions of the octet baryons ($N$, $Σ$, $Ξ$ and $Λ$) have been calculated in the chiral constituent quark model ($χ$CQM). In particular, the valence and sea quark flavor distribution functions of the scalar density matrix elements of octet baryons have been computed explicitly. The implications of chiral symmetry breaking and SU(3) symmetry breaking have been discussed in detail for the sea quark asymmetries, fraction of a particular quark (antiquark) present in a baryon, flavor structure functions and the Gottfried integral. The meson-baryon sigma terms $σ_{πB}$, $σ_{K B}$, and $σ_{ηB}$ for the case of $N$, $Σ$ and $Ξ$ baryons have also been calculated. The results have been compared with the recent available experimental observations for the case of $N$ and how the future experiments for $Σ$, $Ξ$ and $Λ$ can provide important constraints to describe the role of non-valence (sea) degrees of freedom has been discussed.

Single Transverse Spin Asymmetries in Semi-inclusive Deep Inelastic Scattering in a Spin-1 Diquark Model

The observed results for the azimuthal single spin asymmetries (SSAs) of the proton, measured in the semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS), can be explained by the final-state interaction (FSI) from the gluon exchange between the outgoing quark and the target spectator system. SSAs require a phase difference between two amplitudes coupling the target with opposite spins to the same final state. We have used the model of light front wave functions (LFWFs) consisting of a spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ system as a composite of a spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ fermion and a spin-1 vector boson to estimate the SSAs. The implications of such a model have been investigated in detail by considering different coupling constants. The FSIs also produce a complex phase which can be included in the LFWFs to calculate the Sivers and Boer-Mulders distribution functions of the nucleon.

Transverse distortion of a relativistic composite system in impact parameter space

We investigate the Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) in impact parameter space using the explicit light front wave functions (LFWFs) for the two-particle Fock state of the electron in QED. The Fourier transform (FT) of the GPDs gives the distribution of quarks in the transverse plane for zero longitudinal momentum transfer ($ξ=0$). We study the relationship of the spin flip GPD $E(x,0,-\vecΔ_\perp^2)$ with the distortion of unpolarized quark distribution in the transverse plane when the target nucleon is transversely polarized and also determine the sign of distortion from the sign of anomalous magnetic moment. To verify the sign of distortion, we also compute it directly from the LFWFs by performing a FT in position space coordinate $\vec{f}_\perp$. The explicit relation between the deformation in the two spaces can also be obtained using the convolution integrals. To show the relation of the model LFWFs to a realistic model of nucleon physics, we have designed a specific weight function of our model LFWFs and integrated it over the mass parameter. Also we have simulated the form factor of the nucleon in the AdS/QCD holographic LFWFs model and studied the power-law behaviour at short distances.

Axial-vector form factors for the low lying octet baryons in the chiral quark constituent model

We have calculated the axial-vector form factors of the low lying octet baryons ($N$, $Σ$, $Ξ$ and $Λ$) in the chiral constituent quark model ($χ$CQM). In particular, we have studied the implications of chiral symmetry breaking and SU(3) symmetry breaking for the singlet ($g^0_{A}$) and non-singlet ($g^3_{A}$ and $g^8_{A}$) axial-vector coupling constants expressed as combinations of the spin polarizations at zero momentum transfer. The conventional dipole form of parametrization has been used to analyse the $Q^2$ dependence of the axial-vector form factors ($G^0_{A}(Q^2)$, $G^3_{A}(Q^2)$ and $G^8_{A}(Q^2)$). The total strange singlet and non-singlet contents ($G_s^0(Q^2)$, $G_s^3(Q^2)$ and $G_s^8(Q^2)$) of the nucleon determining the strange quark contribution to the nucleon spin ($Δs$) have also been discussed.

Charge and magnetization densities in transverse coordinate and impact parameter space

Electromagnetic form factors obtained from the overlap of light front wave functions (LFWFs) have been used to study the transverse densities of charge and magnetization. The calculations have been carried out to develop a relation between the charge distribution of the quarks inside nucleon in the transverse coordinate space as well as in the impact parameter space. When a comparison is carried out, it is found that the transverse distribution in the impact parameter space, where the longitudinal momentum fraction $x$ can be fixed, falls off faster than the spatial distribution in the transverse coordinate space where there is some contribution from the longitudinal momentum as well. The anomalous magnetization density of the nucleon has also been discussed. Further, we have also presented the results of the QCD transverse AdS charge density inspired from the holographic QCD model.

Electromagnetic and gravitational form factors in simulated QED and Yukawa model

The light-cone Fock state representation of composite systems has number of remarkable properties and for systems such as hadrons they have exact representation for angular momentum, energy momentum tensor. We investigate the electromagnetic and gravitational form factors with zero momentum transfer in QED and Yukawa theory. To improve the convergence near the end points of $x$ qualitatively as well as to check the consistency of the model, we differentiate the wavefunction w.r.t. bound state mass. We test the behaviour of the anomalous gravitomagnetic moment, which follows directly from the Lorentz boost properties of the light-cone Fock representation, for the simulated model as well as the Yukawa model. We also discuss the Pauli form factor obtained from the spin-flip matrix element.

Impact parameter space and transverse distortion

We investigate the GPDs in impact parameter space using the explicit light front wave functions (LFWFs) for the two-particle Fock state of the electron in QED. The Fourier transform (FT) of the GPDs gives the distribution of quarks in the transverse plane for zero longitudinal momentum transfer ($ζ=0$). We study the relationship of the spin flip GPD with the distortion of unpolarized quark distribution in the transverse plane when the target nucleon is transversely polarized and also determine the sign of distortion from the sign of anomalous magnetic moment.

Magnetic moments of the low-lying {1/2}^- octet baryon resonances

The magnetic moments of the negative parity octet resonances with spin {1/2}: $N^*$(1535), $N^*$(1650), $Σ^*$(1620), and $Ξ^*$(1690) have been calculated within the framework of the chiral constituent quark model. In this approach, the presence of the polarized $q\bar{q}$ pairs (or the meson cloud, in other words) is considered by using the Lagrangian for Goldstone boson emission from the constituent quarks. Further, the explicit contributions coming from the spin and orbital angular momentum, including the effects of the configurations mixing between the states with different spins, are obtained. The motivation for these calculations comes from the recent interest in experimental measurement of the magnetic moment of the ${S_{11}(1535)}$ resonance and of similar calculations being done within lattice quantum chromodynamics approaches. Our results can be compared with those expected to come from these sources.

Quadrupole moments of low lying baryons with spin 1/2^+, spin 3/2^+, and spin 3/2^+ \to 1/2^+ transitions

The chiral constituent quark model (\chiCQM) with general parameterization (GP) method has been formulated to calculate the quadrupole moments of the spin 3/2^+ decuplet baryons and spin 3/2^+ \to 1/2^+ transitions. The implications of such a model have been investigated in detail for the effects of symmetry breaking and GP parameters pertaining to the two- and three-quark contributions. It is found that the \chiCQM is successful in giving a quantitative and qualitative description of the quadrupole moments.

Magnetic moments of the low-lying $J^P=\,1/2^-$, $3/2^-$ $Λ$ resonances within the framework of the chiral quark model

The magnetic moments of the low-lying spin-parity $J^P=$ $1/2^-$, $3/2^-$ $Λ$ resonances, like, for example, $Λ(1405)$ $1/2^-$, $Λ(1520)$ $3/2^-$, as well as their transition magnetic moments, are calculated using the chiral quark model. The results found are compared with those obtained from the nonrelativistic quark model and those of unitary chiral theories, where some of these states are generated through the dynamics of two hadron coupled channels and their unitarization.

Charge radii of octet and decuplet baryons

The charge radii of the octet and decuplet baryons have been calculated in the framework of chiral constituent quark model ($χ$CQM) using a general parameterization (GP) method. Our results are comparable with the latest experimental studies as well as with other phenomenological models. The effects of SU(3) symmetry breaking and GP parameters pertaining to the one-, two- and three-quark contributions have also been investigated in detail.

Electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon in the chiral constituent quark model

The electromagnetic form factors have attracted lot of theoretical and experimental attention recently as they encode extensive information on the internal structure of the hadron. An understanding of the form factors is necessary to describe the strong interactions as they are sensitive to the pion cloud and provide a test for the QCD inspired effective field theories based on the chiral symmetry. In view of the very exciting recent developments in the field, we propose to apply the techniques of chiral constituent quark model to measure the electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon. The results obtained are comparable to the latest experimental studies and also show improvement over some theoretical interpretations.

Strangeness and meson-nucleon sigma terms

The chiral constituent quark model ($χ$CQM) has been extended to calculate the flavor structure of the nucleon through the meson-nucleon sigma terms which have large contributions from the quark sea and are greatly affected by chiral symmetry breaking and SU(3) symmetry breaking. The hidden strangeness component in the nucleon has also been investigated and its significant contribution is found to be consistent with the recent available experimental observations.

Chiral symmetry breaking and electromagnetic structure of the nucleon

The electromagnetic form factors are the most fundamental quantities to describe the internal structure of the nucleon and are related to the charge radii of the baryons. We have calculated the charge radii of octet baryons in the framework of chiral constituent quark model with the inclusion of the spin-spin generated configuration mixing. This model is quite successful in predicting the low energy hadron matrix elements. The results obtained in the case of charge radii are also comparable to the latest experimental studies and show improvement over some theoretical interpretations.

Nucleon shape and electromagnetic form factors in the chiral constituent quark model

The electromagnetic form factors are the most fundamental quantities to describe the internal structure of the nucleon and the shape of a spatially extended particle is determined by its intrinsic quadrupole moment which can be related to the charge radii. We have calculated the electromagnetic form factors, nucleon charge radii and the intrinsic quadrupole moment of the nucleon in the framework of chiral constituent quark model. The results obtained are comparable to the latest experimental studies and also show improvement over some theoretical interpretations.

Quadrupole moment of the nucleon in chiral constituent quark model

The electromagnetic form factors are the most fundamental quantities to describe the internal structure of the nucleon and the shape of a spatially extended particle is determined by its {\it intrinsic} quadrupole moment which is first order moment of the charge density operator. With some experimental indications of a deformed nucleon, we have calculated the {\it intrinsic} quadrupole moment of the octet and decuplet baryons in the framework of chiral constituent quark model \chiCQM which is quite successful in explaining some of the important baryon properties in the nonperturbative regime.

Quark sea asymmetries of the octet baryons

The effects of "quark sea" in determining the flavor structure of the octet baryons have been investigated in the chiral constituent quark model (\chiCQM). The \chiCQM is able to qualitatively generate the requisite amount of quark sea and is also known to provide a satisfactory explanation of the proton spin and related issues in the nonperturbative regime. The Bjorken scaling variable x has been included phenomenologically in the sea quark distribution functions to understand its implications on the quark sea asymmetries like \bar d(x)-\bar (x), \bar d(x)/\bar u(x) and Gottfried integral for the octet baryons. The results strengthen the importance of quark sea at lower values of x.

Spin 1/2^+, spin 3/2^+ and transition magnetic moments of low lying and charmed baryons

Magnetic moments of the low lying and charmed spin 1/2^+ and spin 3/2^+ baryons have been calculated in the SU(4) chiral constituent quark model (\chiCQM) by including the contribution from c \bar c fluctuations. Explicit calculations have been carried out for the contribution coming from the valence quarks, "quark sea" polarizations and their orbital angular momentum. The implications of such a model have also been studied for magnetic moments of the low lying spin 3/2^+ \to 1/2^+ and 1/2^+ \to 1/2^+ transitions as well as the transitions involving charmed baryons. We are able to achieve an excellent agreement with data for the case of low lying spin 1/2^+ baryons and spin 3/2^+ baryons. For the spin 1/2^+ and spin 3/2^+ charmed baryon magnetic moments, our results are consistent with the predictions of the QCD sum rules, Light Cone sum rules and Spectral sum rules. For the cases where "light" quarks dominate in the valence structure, the sea and orbital contributions are found to be fairly significant however, they cancel in the right direction to give the correct magnitude of the total magnetic moment. On the other hand, when there is an excess of "heavy" quarks, the contribution of the "quark sea" is almost negligible. The effects of configuration mixing and quark masses have also been investigated.

The results are in good agreement with existing experimental data and also show improvement over other phenomenological models.

Chiral constituent quark model and the coupling strength of eta'

Using the latest data pertaining to \bar u-\bar d asymmetry and the spin polarization functions, detailed implications of the possible values of the coupling strength of the singlet Goldstone boson η' have been investigated in the \chiCQM with configuration mixing. Using Δu, Δ_3, \bar u-\bar d and \bar u/\bar d, the possible ranges of the coupling parameters a, α^ 2, β^ 2 and ζ^ 2, representing respectively the probabilities of fluctuations to pions, K, ηand η^{'}, are shown to be 0.10 \lesssim a \lesssim 0.14, 0.2\lesssim α\lesssim 0.5, 0.2\lesssim β\lesssim 0.7 and 0.10 lesssim |ζ| \lesssim 0.70. To constrain the coupling strength of η', detailed fits have been obtained for spin polarization functions, quark distribution functions and baryon octet magnetic moments corresponding to the following sets of parameters: a=0.1, α=0.4, β=0.7, |ζ|=0.65 (Case I); a=0.1, α=0.4, β=0.6, |ζ|=0.70 (Case II); a=0.14, α=0.4, β=0.2, ζ=0 (Case III) and a=0.13, α=β=0.45, |ζ|=0.10 (Case IV). Case I represents the calculations where a is fixed to be 0.1, in accordance with earlier calculations, whereas other parameters are treated free and the Case IV represents our best fit. The fits clearly establish that a small non-zero value of the coupling of η' is preferred over the higher values of η' as well as when ζ=0, the latter implying the absence of η' from the dynamics of \chiCQM. Our best fit achieves an overall excellent fit to the data, in particular the fit for Δu, Δd, Δ_8 as well as the magnetic moments μ_{n}, μ_{Σ^-}, μ_{Σ^+} and μ_{Ξ^-} is almost perfect, the μ_{Ξ^-} being a difficult case for most of the similar calculations.

Chiral quark model and the nucleon spin

Using \chiQM with configuration mixing, the contribution of the gluon polarization to the flavor singlet component of the total spin has been calculated phenomenologically through the relation ΔΣ(Q^2)=ΔΣ-\frac{3α_s(Q^2)}{2π}Δg(Q^2) as defined in the Adler-Bardeen scheme, where ΔΣon the right hand side is Q^2 independent. For evaluation the contribution of gluon polarization Δg'(=\frac{3α_s(Q^2)}{2π}Δg(Q^2)), ΔΣis found in the \chiQM by fixing the latest E866 data pertaining to \bar u-\bar d asymmetry and the spin polarization functions whereas ΔΣ(Q^2) is taken to be 0.30\pm0.06 and α_s= 0.287\pm0.020, both at Q^2=5{\rm GeV}^2. The contribution of gluon polarization Δg' comes out to be 0.33 which leads to an almost perfect fit for spin distribution functions in the \chiQM. When its implications for magnetic moments are investigated, we find perfect fit for many of the magnetic moments. If an attempt is made to explain the angular momentum sum rule for proton by using the above value of Δg', one finds the contribution of gluon angular momentum to be as important as that of the q \bar q pairs.
