Can the observed CP asymmetry in tau --> K pi nu_tau be due to Non-Standard Tensor interactions?

An intriguing opposite sign of the CP violating asymmetry was recently measured in the tau decay modes tau -> Ks pi nutau by the BaBar collaboration, than that expected within the Standard Model. If this result is confirmed with higher precision, the observed decay rate asymmetry ACP, can only arise from some Non-Standard Interactions(NSI) occurring possibly in both the hadronic as well as in the leptonic sectors. We illustrate that while a simple charged scalar interaction cannot yield this rate asymmetry, it will be possible to generate this in the presence of a tensor interaction. Parameterizing the strength and weak phase of this NSI contribution, the observed branching ratio and the decay rate CP asymmetry for the particular mode tau -> Ks pi nutau, are used to determine the CP violating weak phase and the coupling of a tensorial interaction that can give a consistent sign and magnitude of the asymmetry.

Correlations between low energy leptonic CP violation and leptogenesis in the light of recent experiments

Leptogenesis is the most favourable mechanism for generating the observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe (BAU) which implies CP violation in the high energy scale. The low energy leptonic CP violation is expected to be observed in the neutrino oscillations and $0ν2 β$ decay experiments. Generally it is not possible to connect both the CP violations. Here we revisit the issue of connecting the two in flavoured leptogenesis scenario within the Type I seesaw in the light of recent neutrino oscillation and {\it Planck} data. With the recent precise measurements of $θ_{13}$ and BAU we are able to find new correlations between the low and high energy CP violating phases when leptogenesis occurs at temperature between $10^9$ to $10^{12}$ GeV and there is no contribution to CP violation from the heavy neutrino sector.

Neutrinoless double-$β$ decay in TeV scale Left-Right symmetric models

In this paper we study in detail the neutrinoless double beta decay in left-right symmetric models with right-handed gauge bosons at TeV scale which is within the presently accessible reach of colliders. We discuss the different diagrams that can contribute to this process and identify the dominant ones for the case where the right-handed neutrino is also at the TeV scale. We calculate the contribution to the effective mass governing neutrinoless double beta decay assuming type-I, and type-II dominance and discuss what are the changes in the effective mass due to the additional contributions. We also discuss the effect of the recent Daya-Bay and RENO measurements on $\sin^2θ_{13}$ on the effective mass in different scenarios.
