Deep ASKAP EMU Survey of the GAMA23 field: Properties of radio sources

We present the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) observations of the Galaxy and Mass Assembly (GAMA)-23h field. The survey was carried out at 887.5 MHz and covers a 83 square degree field. We imaged the calibrated visibility data, taken as part of the Evolutionary Mapping of Universe (EMU) Early Science Programme, using the latest version of the ASKAPSoft pipeline. The final mosaic has an angular resolution of 10 arcsec and a central rms noise of around 38 $μ$Jy beam$^{-1}$. The derived radio source catalogue has 39812 entries above a peak flux density threshold of 5$σ$. We searched for the radio source host galaxy counterparts using the GAMA spectroscopic (with an i-band magnitude limit of 19.2 mag) and multi-wavelength catalogues that are available as part of the collaboration. We identified hosts with GAMA spectroscopic redshifts for 5934 radio sources. We describe the data reduction, imaging, and source identification process, and present the source counts. Thanks to the wide area covered by our survey, we obtain very robust counts down to 0.2 mJy. ASKAP's exceptional survey speed, providing efficient, sensitive and high resolution mapping of large regions of the sky in conjunction with the multi-wavelength data available for the GAMA23 field, allowed us to discover 63 giant radio galaxies. The data presented here demonstrate the excellent capabilities of ASKAP in the pre-SKA era.

A 5D Holographic Dark Energy in DGP-Brane Cosmology

This paper is aimed at investigating a 5D holographic dark energy in DGP-BRANE cosmology by employing a combination of Sne Ia, BAO and CMB observational data to fit the cosmological parameters in the model. We describe the dynamic of a FRW for the normal branch ($ε$ = +1) of solutions of the induced gravity brane-world model. We take the matter in 5D bulk as holographic dark energy that its holographic nature is reproduced effectively in 4D. The cosmic evolution reveals that the effective 4D holographic dark energy behaves as quintessence while taking into account the 4D cold dark matter results in matter dominated universe followed by late time acceleration.

Cosmological constraints on Agegraphic dark energy in DGP braneworld gravity

A proposal to study the original and new agegraphic dark energy in DGP braneworld cosmology is presented in this work. To verify our model with the observational data, the model is constrained by a variety of independent measurements such as Hubble parameter, cosmic microwave background anisotropies, and baryon acoustic oscillation peaks. The best fitting procedure shows the effectiveness of agegraphic parameter $n$ in distinguishing between the original and new agegraphic dark energy scenarios and subsequent cosmological findings. In particular, the result shows that in both scenarios, our universe enters an agegraphic dark energy dominated phase.

Generalized Second Law of Thermodynamics with Corrected Entropy in Tachyon Cosmology

This work is to study the generalized second law (GSL) of thermodynamics in tachyon cosmology where the boundary of the universe is assumed to be enclosed by a dynamical apparent horizon. The model is constrained with the observational data. The two logarithmic and power law corrected entropy is also discussed and conditions to validate the GSL and corrected entropies are obtained.

Probing Lambda-DGP Braneworld Model

In this article we study cosmic dynamics in the context of normal branch of DGP braneworld model. Using the current Planck data, we best fit the model and cosmological parameters in non-flat $Λ$DGP. With the transition redshift as a basic variable and statefinder parameters, our result shows that the Universe starts its accelerated expansion phase, slightly earlier than expected in $Λ$CDM cosmology. The result also alleviates the coincidence problem of the $Λ$CDM model.

Tachyonic Intermediate Inflation in DGP Cosmology with new observations

In this article we study an intermediate inflationary model in the context of Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) cosmology caused by a tachyon scalar field. Considering slow-roll inflation we discuss the dynamics of the Universe. Using perturbation theory, we estimate some of the model parameters numerically and compare them with the recent results from Planck satellite.

Thermodynamics and holography of tachyon cosmology

Recently, we have investigated the dynamics of the universe in tachyon cosmology with non-minimal coupling to matter \cite{faraj}-\cite{faraj3}. In particular, for the interacting holographic dark energy (IHDE), the model is studied in \cite{Ravanpak}. In the current work, a significant observational program has been conducted to unveil the model's thermodynamic properties. Our result shows that the IHDE version of our model better fits the observational data than $Λ$CDM model. The first and generalized second thermodynamics laws for the universe enveloped by cosmological apparent and event horizon are revisited. From the results, both first and generalized second laws, constrained by the observational data, are satisfied on cosmological apparent horizon. In addition, the total entropy is verified with the observation only if the horizon of the universe is taken as apparent horizon. Then, due to validity of generalized second law, the current cosmic acceleration is also predicted.

Chameleon gravity on cosmological scales

In conventional approach to the chameleon mechanism, by assuming a static and spherically symmetric solutions in which matter density and chameleon field are given by $ρ=ρ(r)$ and $ϕ=ϕ(r)$, it has been shown that mass of chameleon field is matter density-dependent. In regions of high matter density such as earth, chameleon field is massive, in solar system it is low and in cosmological scales it is very low. In this article we revisit the mechanism in cosmological scales by assuming a redshift dependence of the matter density and chameleon field, i.e. $ρ=ρ(z)$, $ϕ=ϕ(z)$. To support our analysis, we best fit the model parameters with the observational data. The result shows that in cosmological scales, the mass of chameleon field increases with the redshift, i.e. more massive in higher redshifts. We also find that in both cases of power-law and exponential potential function, the current universe acceleration can be explained by the low mass chameleon field. In comparison with the high redshift observational data, we also find that the model with power-law potential function is in better agreement with the observational data.

Interacting agegraphic dark energy model in tachyon cosmology coupled to matter

Scalar-field dark energy models for tachyon fields are often regarded as an effective description of an underlying theory of dark energy. In this paper, we propose the agegraphic dark energy model in tachyon cosmology by interaction between the components of the dark sectors. In the formalism, the interaction term emerges from the tachyon field nonminimally coupled to the matter Lagrangian in the model rather than being inserted into the formalism as an external source. The model is constrained by the observational data. Based on the best fitted parameters in both original and new agegraphic dark energy scenarios, the model is tested by Sne Ia data. The tachyon potential and tachyon field are reconstructed and coincidence problem is revisited.

Observational constraint in FRW cosmology with a nonminimal scalar field-matter coupling

In this paper within the scope of FRW cosmology for k = 0, \pm1 we study the dynamics of the universe for a cosmological model with a scalar field nonminimally coupled to matter. By best- fitting the model parameters with the observational data for the direct interaction between the dark sectors in the model we obtain observational constraints on cosmological parameters. The result shows that with the best fitted model parameters, only in flat universe, the phantom crossing occurs twice in the past and once in the future, whereas no crossing occurs for open and closed models of the universe.

Universe acceleration and fine structure constant variation in BSBM theory

In this work we investigate the utility of using SNe Ia observations in constraining the cosmological parameters in BSBM theory where a scalar field is responsible for both fine structure constant variation and late time universe acceleration. The model is discussed in the presence of an exponential self potential for the scalar field. Stability and phase space analysis of the solutions are studied. The model is tested against observational data for Hubble parameter and quasar absorption spectra. With the best fitted model parameters, the theory predicts a good match with the experimental results and exhibits fine structure constant variation. The analysis also shows that for the equation of state parameter, recent universe acceleration and possible phantom crossing in future is forecasted.

Varying alpha and cosmic acceleration in Brans-Dicke-BSBM theory: stability analysis and observational tests

By integration of generalized BSBM and Brans-Dicke cosmological models, in this article, we investigate the theoretical framework of fine structure constant variation and current cosmic acceleration. We first develop a mathematical formalism to analyse the stability of the model. By employing observational data to constrain the model parameters, phase space is performed and the attractor solutions of the model are detected. We then examine the model against observational data such as observational Hubble parameter dataset and quasar absorption spectra. The results confirms current universe acceleration and also predicts fine structure constant variation. Furthermore, extrapolation of the best fitted model in high redshift ($z> 15$) illustrates a significantly larger variation of fine structure constant in earlier epoch of the universe.

A 5D noncompact Kaluza -Klein cosmology in the presence of Null perfect fluid

For the description of the early inflation, and acceleration expansion of the Universe, compatible with observational data, the 5D noncompact Kaluza--Klein cosmology is investigated. It is proposed that the 5D space is filled with a null perfect fluid, resulting a perfect fluid in 4D universe, plus one along the fifth dimension. By analyzing the reduced field equations for flat FRW model, we show the early inflationary behavior and current acceleration of the universe.

A new approach in stability analysis: case study: tachyon cosmology with non-minimally coupled scalar field-matter

We study the general properties of attractors in a cosmological model with tachyonic potential and a scalar field non-minimally coupled to matter. A general analytic formulation is given to derive fixed points with a discussion on their stability. We also check the consistency of the model by fitting it to the supernovae type Ia data.

Bouncing Universe and phantom crossing in Modified Gravity and its reconstruction

In this paper we consider FRW cosmology in modified gravity which contain arbitrary functions $f(ϕ)$. It is shown that the bouncing solution appears in the model whereas the equation of state (EoS) parameter crosses the phantom divider. The reconstruction of the model is also investigated with the aim to reconstruct the arbitrary functions and variables of the model.

Cosmic acceleration and phantom crossing in $f(T)$-gravity

In this paper, we propose two new models in $f(T)$ gravity to realize universe acceleration and phantom crossing due to dark torsion in the formalism. The model parameters are constrained and the observational test are discussed. The best fit results favors an accelerating universe with possible phantom crossing in the near past or future followed respectively by matter and radiation dominated era.

Cosmic Dynamics in $F(R,ϕ)$ Gravity

In this paper we consider FRW cosmology in $F(R,ϕ)$ gravity. It is shown that in particular cases the bouncing behavior may appears in the model whereas the equation of state (EoS) parameter may crosses the phantom divider. For the dynamical universe, quantitatively we also find parameters in the model which satisfies two independent tests:the model independent Cosmological Redshift Drift (CRD) test and the type Ia supernova luminosity distances.

Cosmic Dynamics in the Chameleon Cosmology

We study in this paper chameleon cosmology applied to Friedmann-Robertson-Walker space, which gives rise to the equation of state (EoS) parameter larger than -1 in the past and less than -1 today, satisfying current observations. We also study cosmological constraints on the model using the time evolution of the cosmological redshift of distant sources which directly probes the expansion history of the universe. Due to the evolution of the universe's expansion rate, the model independent Cosmological Redshift Drift (CRD)test is expected to experience a small, systematic drift as a function of time. The model is supported by the observational data obtained from the test.

Cosmography in f(T)-gravity

Being based on the only assumption that the universe is homogenous and isotropic on large scales, cosmography is an ideal tool to investigate the cosmic expansion history in a almost model-independent way. Fitting the data on the luminosity distance and Baryon Acoustic Oscillations allows to determine the confidence ranges for the cosmographic parameters hence giving some quantitative constraints that a whatever theory has to fulfill. As an application, we consider here the case of teleparallel gravity (TEGR) also referred to as f(T)-gravity. To this end, we first work out analytical expressions to express the present day values of f(T)-derivatives as a function of the cosmographic parameters which hold under quite general and physically motivated conditions. We then use the constraints coming from cosmography to find out the confidence ranges for f(T)-derivatives up to the fifth order and show how these can be used to check the viability of given TEGR models without the need to explicitly solve the second order dynamic equations.

Cosmological observations in non-local $F(R)$ cosmology

In this article in a generalization of our previous work, we investigate the dynamics of the non-local $F(R)$ gravity after casting it into local form. The non-singular bouncing behavior and quintom model of dark energy are achieved without involving negative kinetic energy fields. Two cosmological tests are performed to constrain the model parameters. In case of phantom crossing the distance modulus predicted by the model best-fits the observational data. In comparison with the CPL parametrization for drift velocity, the model in some redshift intervals is in good agreement with the data.

Dynamical stability in scalar-tensor cosmology

We study FRW cosmology for a double scalar - tensor theory of gravity where two scalar fields are nonminimally coupled to the geometry. In a framework to study stability and attractor solutions of the model in the phase space, we constraint the model parameters with the observational data. For an accelerating universe, the model behaves like quintom dark energy models and predicts a transition from quintessence era to phantom era.

Entropy and statefinder diagnosis in chameleon cosmology

In this paper, the generalized second law (GSL) of thermodynamics and entropy is revisited in the context of cosmological models with bouncing behavior such as chameleon cosmology where the boundary of the universe is assumed to be enclosed by the dynamical apparent horizon. From a thermodynamic point of view, to link between thermodynamic and geometric parameters in cosmological models, we introduce "entropy rate of change multiplied by the temperature" as a model independent thermodynamic state parameter together with the well known $\{r,s \}$ statefinder to differentiate the dark energy models.

Interacting Holographic dark energy in chameleon tachyon cosmology

We propose in this paper an interacting holographic dark energy (IHDE) model in chameleon--tachyon cosmology by interaction between the components of the dark sectors. In the formalism, the interaction term emerges from the scalar field coupling matter lagrangian in the model rather than being inserted into the formalism as an external source for the interaction. The correspondence between the tachyon field and the holographic dark energy (HDE) densities allows to reconstruct the tachyon scalar field and its potential in a flat FRW universe. The model can show the accelerated expansion of the universe and satisfies the observational data.

Logarithmic entropy--corrected holographic dark energy with non--minimal kinetic coupling

In this paper, we have considered a cosmological model with the non--minimal kinetic coupling terms and investigated its cosmological implications with respect to the logarithmic entropy-- corrected holographic dark energy (LECHDE). The correspondence between LECHDE in flat FRW cosmology and the phantom dark energy model with the aim to interpret the current universe acceleration is also examined.

Observational constraints in scalar tensor theory with tachyonic potential

We study the dynamics of the scalar tensor cosmological model in the presence of tachyon field. In an alternative approach, in two exponential and power law form of the scalar field functions in the model, field equations are solved by simultaneously best fitting the model parameters with the most recent observational data. This approach gives us an observationally verified interpretation of the dynamics of the universe. We then discuss the best fitted of equation of state parameter, the statefinder parameters and the reconstructed scalar field in the model.

Stability analysis and Observational Measurement in Chameleonic Generalised Brans--Dicke Cosmology

We investigate the dynamics of the chameleonic Generalised Brans--Dicke model in flat FRW cosmology. In a new approach, a framework to study stability and attractor solutions in the phase space is developed for the model by simultaneously best fitting the stability and model parameters with the observational data. The results show that for an accelerating universe the phantom crossing does not occur in the past and near future.

Stability Analysis in Tachyonic Potential Chameleon cosmology

We study general properties of attractors for tachyonic potential chameleon scalar-field model which possess cosmological scaling solutions. An analytic formulation is given to obtain fixed points with a discussion on their stability. The model predicts a dynamical equation of state parameter with phantom crossing behavior for an accelerating universe. We constrain the parameters of the model by best fitting with the recent data-sets from supernovae and simulated data points for redshift drift experiment generated by Monte Carlo simulations.

Stability analysis of agegraphic dark energy in Brans-Dicke cosmology

Stability analysis of agegraphic dark energy in Brans-Dicke theory is presented in this paper. We constrain the model parameters with the observational data and thus the results become broadly consistent with those expected from experiment. Stability analysis of the model without best fitting shows that universe may begin from an unstable state passing a saddle point and finally become stable in future. However, with the best fitted model, There is no saddle intermediate state. The agegraphic dark energy in the model by itself exhibits a phantom behavior. However, contribution of cold dark matter on the effective energy density modifies the state of teh universe from phantom phase to quintessence one. The statefinder diagnosis also indicates that the universe leaves an unstable state in the past, passes the LCDM state and finally approaches the sable state in future.

preprint2011arXiv

The generalized second law in chameleon cosmology

In this paper, we investigate the validity of the generalized second law (GSL) of thermodynamics in flat FRW chameleon cosmology where the boundary of the universe is assumed to be enclosed by the dynamical apparent horizon. It has been shown that, in a bouncing scenario for the universe with phantom crossing, the total entropy decreases with time in the contracting epoch, whereas, the dynamics of the internal and horizon entropies depends on the behavior of both equation of state and hubble parameters.

The universe dynamics in the tachyon cosmology with non-minimal coupling to matter

Recently, the tachyon cosmology has been represented as dark energy model to support the current acceleration of the universe without phantom crossing. In this paper, we study the dynamics of the tachyon cosmology in which the field plays the role of tachyon field and also non--minimally coupled to the matter lagrangian. The model shows current universe acceleration and also phantom crossing in the future. Two cosmological tests are also performed to validate the model; the difference in the distance modulus and the model independent Cosmological Redshift Drift (CRD) test.
