Spherical Harmonics Ylm(θ,ϕ)Y_{l}^{m}(θ,ϕ): Positive and Negative Integer Representations of su(1,1) for l-m and l+m

The azimuthal and magnetic quantum numbers of spherical harmonics Ylm(θ,ϕ)Y_{l}^{m}(θ,ϕ) describe quantization corresponding to the magnitude and zz-component of angular momentum operator in the framework of realization of su(2)su(2) Lie algebra symmetry. The azimuthal quantum number ll allocates to itself an additional ladder symmetry by the operators which are written in terms of ll. Here, it is shown that simultaneous realization of the both symmetries inherits the positive and negative (l−m)(l-m)- and (l+m)(l+m)-integer discrete irreducible representations for su(1,1)su(1,1) Lie algebra via the spherical harmonics on the sphere as a compact manifold. So, in addition to realizing the unitary irreducible representation of su(2)su(2) compact Lie algebra via the Ylm(θ,ϕ)Y_{l}^{m}(θ,ϕ)'s for a given ll, we can also represent su(1,1)su(1,1) noncompact Lie algebra by spherical harmonics for given values of l−ml-m and l+ml+m.

The Structure Constants of the Exceptional Lie Algebra g2{\mathfrak g}_2 in the Cartan-Weyl Basis

The purpose of this paper is to answer the question whether it is possible to realize simultaneously the relations Nα,β=−N−α,−βN_{α,β}=-N_{-α,-β}, Nα,β=Nβ,−α−β=N−α−β,αN_{α,β}=N_{β,-α-β}=N_{-α-β,α} and Nα,βN−α,−β=−12q(p+1)⟨α,Hα⟩N_{α,β}N_{-α,-β}=-\frac{1}{2}q(p+1)\langleα,H_α\rangle by the structure constants of the Lie algebra g2{\mathfrak g}_2. We show that if the structure constants obey the first relation, the three last ones are violated, and vice versa. Contrary to the second case, the first one uses the Cartan matrix elements to derive the structure constants in the form of ⟨β,Hα⟩\langleβ,H_α\rangle. The commutation relations corresponding to the first case are exactly documented in the prior literature. However, as expected, a Lie algebra isomorphism is established between the Cartan-Weyl bases obtained in both approaches.

Generalized Coherent States for the Spherical Harmonics Ymm(θ,ϕ)Y_{m}^{m}(θ,ϕ)

The associated Legendre functions Pl(m)(x)P_{l}^{(m)}(x) for a given l−ml-m, may be taken into account as the increasing infinite sequences with respect to both indices ll and mm. This allows us to construct the exponential generating functions for them in two different methods by using Rodrigues formula. As an application then we present a scheme to construct generalized coherent states corresponding to the spherical harmonics Ymm(θ,ϕ)Y_{m}^{m}(θ,ϕ).

Landau Levels as a Limiting Case of a Model with the Morse-Like Magnetic Field

We consider the quantum mechanics of an electron trapped on an infinite band along the xx-axis in the presence of the Morse-like perpendicular magnetic field B⃗=−B0e−2πa0xk^\vec{B}=-B_{0}e^{-\frac{2π}{a_{0}}x}\hat{k} with B0>0B_{0}>0 as a constant strength and a0a_{0} as the width of the band. It is shown that the square integrable pure states realize representations of su(1,1)su(1,1) algebra via the quantum number corresponding to the linear momentum in the yy-direction. The energy of the states increases by decreasing the width a0a_{0} while it is not changed by B0B_{0}. It is quadratic in terms of two quantum numbers, and the linear spectrum of the Landau levels is obtained as a limiting case of a0→∞a_{0}\rightarrow\infty. All of the lowest states of the su(1,1)su(1,1) representations minimize uncertainty relation and the minimizing of their second and third states is transformed to that of the Landau levels in the limit a0→∞a_{0}\rightarrow\infty. The compact forms of the Barut-Girardello coherent states corresponding to ll-representation of su(1,1)su(1,1) algebra and their positive definite measures on the complex plane are also calculated.

Exponential generating functions for the associated Bessel functions

Similar to the associated Legendre functions, the differential equation for the associated Bessel functions Bl,m(x)B_{l,m}(x) is introduced so that its form remains invariant under the transformation l→−l−1l\rightarrow -l-1. A Rodrigues formula for the associated Bessel functions as squared integrable solutions in both regions l<0l<0 and l≥0l\geq 0 is presented. The functions with the same mm but with different positive and negative values of ll are not independent of each other, while the functions with the same l+ml+m (l−ml-m) but with different values of ll and mm are independent of each other. So, all the functions Bl,m(x)B_{l,m}(x) may be taken into account as the union of the increasing (decreasing) infinite sequences with respect to ll. It is shown that two new different types of exponential generating functions are attributed to the associated Bessel functions corresponding to these rearranged sequences.

On the generalized unitary parasupersymmetry algebra of Beckers-Debergh

An appropriate generalization of the unitary parasupersymmetry algebra of Beckers-Debergh to arbitrary order is presented in this paper. A special representation for realizing of the even arbitrary order unitary parasupersymmetry algebra of Beckers-Debergh is analyzed by one dimensional shape invariance solvable models, 2D and 3D quantum solvable models obtained from the shape invariance theory as well. In particular in the special representation, it is shown that the isospectrum Hamiltonians consist of the two partner Hamiltonians of the shape invariance theory.
