$C^{12}-C^{13}$ Quantum computer with longitudinal rf-magnetic field

It is shown that in the diamond $C^{12}$ structure with a linear chain of $C^{13}$ atoms which is inside a transverse static field, having a gradient along the linear chain and an rf-magnetic field in a plane with a component in the direction of the static field, one qubit rotation, the Controlled-Not (CNOT), the Controlled-Controlled-NoT (CCNOT) quantum gates, and teleportation algorithm.

Analytical approximation to the dynamics of a binary stars system with time depending mass variation

We study the classical dynamics of a binary stars when there is an interchange of mass between them. Assuming that one of the star is more massive than the other, the dynamics of the lighter one is analyzed as a function of its time depending mass variation. Within our approximations and models for mass transference, we obtain a general result which establishes that if the lightest star looses mass, its period increases. If the lightest star win mass, its period decreases.

Force-Depending Radiation Reaction study in an undulator device

The effect of force-depending radiation reaction on charge motion traveling inside an undulator is studied using the new force approach for radiation reaction. The effect on the dynamics of a charged particle is determined with the hope that this one can be measured experimentally and can be determined whether or not this approach points on the right direction to understand the nature of radiation reaction.

Quantization of the 1-D harmonic oscillator with variable mass using the operators $\hat v$ and $\hat p$

For the 1-D harmonic oscillator with position depending variable mass, a Hamiltonian and constant of motion are given through a consistent approach. Then, the quantization of this system is carried out using the operator $\hat p$, for the Hamiltonian, and the operator $\hat v$ for the constant of motion. We find that the result of both quantizations brings about different quantum dynamics.

Superradiance Transition and Nonphotochemical Quenching in Photosynthetic Complexes

We demonstrate numerically that superradiance could play a significant role in nonphotochemical quenching (NPQ) in light-harvesting complexes. Our model consists of a network of five interconnected sites (discrete excitonic states) that are responsible for the NPQ mechanism. Damaging and charge transfer states are linked to their sinks (independent continuum electron spectra), in which the chemical reactions occur. The superradiance transition in the charge transfer (or in the damaging) channel, occurs at particular electron transfer rates from the discrete to the continuum electron spectra, and can be characterized by a segregation of the imaginary parts of the eigenvalues of the effective non-Hermitian Hamiltonian. All five excitonic sites interact with their protein environment that is modeled by a random stochastic process. We find the region of parameters in which the superradiance transition into the charge transfer channel takes place. We demonstrate that this superradiance transition has the capability of producing optimal NPQ performance.
