We study the structure of the 0-Schur algebra S0(n,r) following the geometric construction of S0(n,r) by Jensen and Su \cite{JS}. The main results are the construction and classification of indecomposable projective modules. In addition, we construct bases of these modules and their homomorphism spaces. We also give a filtration of projective modules, which leads to a decomposition of S0(n,r) into indecomposable left modules.
In this paper we prove that the affine Schur algebra $\s$ is affine cellular over $\bbq$. As an application, we prove it is of finite global dimension.
In this paper we prove that the affine Schur algebra $\whS(n,r)$ is affine quasi-hereditary. This result is then applied to show that $\whS(n,r)$ has finite global dimension and its centralizer subquotient algebras are Laurent polynomial algebras. We also use the result to give a parameter set of simple $\whS(n,r)$-modules and identify this parameter set with that given in \cite{DDF}.
