N-sided Radial Schramm-Loewner Evolution

We use the interpretation of the Schramm-Loewner evolution as a limit of path measures tilted by a loop term in order to motivate the definition of $n$-radial SLE going to a particular point. In order to justify the definition we prove that the measure obtained by an appropriately normalized loop term on $n$-tuples of paths has a limit. The limit measure can be described as $n$ paths moving by the Loewner equation with a driving term of Dyson Brownian motion. While the limit process has been considered before, this paper shows why it naturally arises as a limit of configurational measures obtained from loop measures.

Harry Kesten (1931-2019), a personal and scientific tribute

The mathematical achievements of Harry Kesten since the mid-1950s have revolutionized probability theory as a subject in its own right and in its associations with aspects of algebra, analysis, geometry, and statistical physics. Through his personality and scientific ability, he has framed the modern subject to a degree exceeded by no other. The impact of his work and personality is summarised in this memoir.

Convergence of loop-erased random walk in the natural parametrization

Loop-erased random walk, abbreviated LERW, is one of the most well-studied critical lattice models. It is the self-avoiding random walk one gets after erasing the loops from a simple random walk in order or alternatively by considering the branches in a uniformly chosen spanning tree. This paper proves that planar LERW parametrized by renormalized length converges in the lattice size scaling limit to SLE(2) parametrized by 5/4-dimensional Minkowski content. In doing this we also provide a method for proving similar convergence results for other models converging to SLE. Besides the main theorem, several of our results about LERW are of independent interest: for example, two-point estimates, estimates on maximal content, and a "separation lemma".

Scaling limit of the loop-erased random walk Green's function

We consider loop-erased random walk (LERW) running between two boundary points of a square grid approximation of a planar simply connected domain. The LERW Green's function is the probability that the LERW passes through a given edge in the domain. We prove that this probability, multiplied by the inverse mesh size to the power 3/4, converges in the lattice size scaling limit to (a constant times) an explicit conformally covariant quantity which coincides with the SLE(2) Green's function. The proof does not use SLE techniques and is based on a combinatorial identity which reduces the problem to obtaining sharp asymptotics for two quantities: the loop measure of random walk loops of odd winding number about a branch point near the marked edge and a "spinor" observable for random walk started from one of the vertices of the marked edge.

Multi-point Green's functions for SLE and an estimate of Beffara

In this paper we define and prove of the existence of the multi-point Green's function for SLE - a normalized limit of the probability that an $SLE_κ$ curve passes near to a pair of marked points in the interior of a domain. When $κ<8$ this probability is nontrivial, and an expression can be written in terms two-sided radial SLE. One of the main components to our proof is a refinement of a bound first provided by Beffara [Ann. Probab. 36 (2008) 1421-1452]. This work contains a proof of this bound independent from the original.

Reversed radial SLE and the Brownian loop measure

The Brownian loop measure is a conformally invariant measure on loops in the plane that arises when studying the Schramm-Loewner evolution (SLE). When an SLE curve in a domain evolves from an interior point, it is natural to consider the loops that hit the curve and leave the domain, but their measure is infinite. We show that there is a related normalized quantity that is finite and invariant under Möbius transformations of the plane. We estimate this quantity when the curve is small and the domain simply connected. We then use this estimate to prove a formula for the Radon-Nikodym derivative of reversed radial SLE with respect to whole-plane SLE.

Basic properties of the natural parametrization for the Schramm-Loewner evolution

The natural paramterization or length for the Schramm-Loewner evolution (SLEκ) is the candidate for the scaling limit of the length of discrete curves for κ< 8. We improve the proof of the existence of the parametrization and use this to establish some new results. In particular, we show that the natural parametrization is independent of domain and it is Hölder continuous with respect to the capacity parametrization. We also give up-to-constants bounds for the two-point Green's function. Although we do not prove the conjecture that the natural length is given by the appropriate Minkowski content, we do prove that the corresponding expectations converge.

Lattice effects in the scaling limit of the two-dimensional self-avoiding walk

We consider the two-dimensional self-avoiding walk (SAW) in a simply connected domain that contains the origin. The SAW starts at the origin and ends somewhere on the boundary. The distribution of the endpoint along the boundary is expected to differ from the SLE partition function prediction for this distribution because of lattice effects that persist in the scaling limit. We give a precise conjecture for how to compute this lattice effect correction and support our conjecture with simulations. We also give a precise conjecture for the lattice corrections that persist in the scaling limit of the lambda-SAW walk.

The self-avoiding walk in a strip

We review the existence of the infinite length self-avoiding walk in the half plane and its relationship to bridges. We prove that this probability measure is also given by the limit as $β\rightarrow β_c-$ of the probability measure on all finite length walks $ω$ with the probability of $ω$ proportional to $β_c^{|ω|}$ where $|ω|$ is the number of steps in $ω$. The self-avoiding walk in a strip $\{z : 0<\Im(z)<y\}$ is defined by considering all self-avoiding walks $ω$ in the strip which start at the origin and end somewhere on the top boundary with probability proportional to $β_c^{|ω|}$ We prove that this probability measure may be obtained by conditioning the SAW in the half plane to have a bridge at height $y$. This observation is the basis for simulations to test conjectures on the distribution of the endpoint of the SAW in a strip and the relationship between the distribution of this strip SAW and SLE$_{8/3}$.

Values of Brownian intersection exponents III: Two-sided exponents

This paper determines values of intersection exponents between packs of planar Brownian motions in the half-plane and in the plane that were not derived in our first two papers. For instance, it is proven that the exponent $ξ(3,3)$ describing the asymptotic decay of the probability of non-intersection between two packs of three independent planar Brownian motions each is $(73-2 \sqrt {73}) / 12$. More generally, the values of $ξ(w_1, >..., w_k)$ and $\tx (w_1', ..., w_k')$ are determined for all $ k \ge 2$, $w_1, w_2\ge 1$, $w_3, ...,w_k\in[0,\infty)$ and all $w_1',...,w_k'\in[0,\infty)$. The proof relies on the results derived in our first two papers and applies the same general methods. We first find the two-sided exponents for the stochastic Loewner evolution processes in a half-plane, from which the Brownian intersection exponents are determined via a universality argument.
