Quantum models a la Gabor for space-time metric

As an extension of Gabor signal processing, the covariant Weyl-Heisenberg integral quantization is implemented to transform functions on the eight-dimensional phase space $\left(x,k\right)$ into Hilbertian operators. The $x=\left(x^μ\right)$'s are space-time variables and the $k=\left(k^μ\right)$'s are As an extension of Gabor signal processing, the covariant Weyl-Heisenberg integral quantization is implemented to transform functions on the eight-dimensional phase space $\left(x,k\right)$ into Hilbertian operators. The $x=\left(x^μ\right)$'s are space-time variables and the $k=\left(k^μ\right)$'s are their conjugate wave vector-frequency variables. The procedure is first applied to the variables $\left(x,k\right)$ and produces canonically conjugate essentially self-adjoint operators. It is next applied to the metric field $g_{μν}(x)$ of general relativity and yields regularised semi-classical phase space portraits $\check{g}_{μν}(x)$. The latter give rise to modified tensor energy density. Examples are given with the uniformly accelerated reference system and the Schwarzschild metric. Interesting probabilistic aspects are discussed.

The de Broglie universal substratum, the Lochak monopoles and the dark universe

We propose to interpret the dark universe (dark matter and dark energy) of the current cosmological standard model as emerging together with ordinary matter, from the quantum vacuum, which de Broglie called the "universal substratum". It will be shown that this interpretation may lead to a reasonable agreement between the current understanding of the quantum vacuum in quantum field theory and current evidences for the existence of dark energy and dark matter, and that dark matter can be interpreted as emerging from the QCD vacuum, as a Bose-Einstein gluon condensate, with an energy density relative to the baryonic energy density that agrees with observation.

An interpretive conjecture for physics beyond the standard models: generalized complementarity

Our interpretive conjecture is inspired by the epistemology due to Ferdinand Gonseth (1890-1975) who interpreted complementarity as the relationship between profound and apparent reality horizons. It consists, on the one hand, on enlarging the scope of quantum theory to the most profound reality horizon, namely a triply quantum theory of gravitation that would be able to take into account simultaneously as elementary quanta the Planck's constant, the Planck's space-time area and the Boltzmann constant, and, on the other hand, on interpreting in terms of generalized complementarity three doubly quantum schemata taking into account by pairs, these three elementary quanta and form the apparent reality horizon.

A New Scientific Revolution at the Horizon?

At this beginning of the 21st century, the situation of physics is not without analogy with that which prevailed a hundred years ago, with the outset of the double scientific revolution of relativity and quanta. On the one hand, recent progress of observational cosmology makes think that one has discovered a new universal constant, perhaps as fundamental as the velocity of light or the Planck's constant, the cosmological constant, which could explain the acceleration of the expansion of the universe. On the other hand, just like the efforts of Planck and Einstein to reconcile thermodynamics and the electromagnetic theory of light led to the operational beginning of quantum physics, the unexpected discovery of bonds between thermodynamics and general relativity makes to foresee new concepts, perhaps heralding a new scientific revolution, like that of holography and leads to consider a "thermodynamic route towards quantum cosmology." We will discuss the possible implications of these observational and theoretical developments.
