SUSY Ward identities in 1-loop perturbation theory

We present preliminary results of a study of the supersymmetric (SUSY) Ward identities (WIs) for the N=1 SU(2) SUSY Yang-Mills theory in the context of one-loop lattice perturbation theory. The supersymmetry on the lattice is explicitly broken by the gluino mass and the lattice artifacts. However, the renormalization of the supercurrent can be carried out in a scheme that restores the nominal continuum WIs. The perturbative calculation of the renormalization constants and mixing coefficients for the local supercurrent is presented.

Calculation of Universal Amplitude Ratios in three-loop order

For the universality class of three-dimensional Ising systems the ratio of the high- and low-temperature amplitudes for the correlation length and for the susceptibility are universal quantities. They can be calculated by renormalized perturbation theory for scalar $ϕ^4$ theory in fixed dimensions $D=3$ in the symmetric phase and in the phase of broken symmetry. In this article the amplitude ratios are calculated in the three-loop approximation. Using the fixed point values of the coupling constants we obtain $f_+/f_-=2.013(28)$ and $C_+/C_-=4.72(17)$.

Tadpole Summation by Dyson-Schwinger Equations

In quantum field theory with three-point and four-point couplings the Feynman diagrams of perturbation theory contain momentum independent subdiagrams, the ``tadpoles'' and ``snails''. With the help of Dyson-Schwinger equations we show how these can be summed up completely by a suitable modification of the mass and coupling parameters. This reduces the number of diagrams significantly. The method is useful for the organisation of perturbative calculations in higher orders.

Field Theoretic Calculation of the Universal Amplitude Ratio of Correlation Lengths in 3D-Ising Systems

In three-dimensional systems of the Ising universality class the ratio of correlation length amplitudes for the high- and low-temperature phases is a universal quantity. Its field theoretic determination apart from the $ε$-expansion represents a gap in the existing literature. In this article we present a method, which allows to calculate this ratio by renormalized perturbation theory in the phases with unbroken and broken symmetry of a one-component $ϕ^4$-theory in fixed dimensions $D=3$. The results can be expressed as power series in the renormalized coupling constant of either of the two phases, and with the knowledge of their fixed point values numerical estimates are obtainable. These are given for the case of a two-loop calculation.

Numerical Investigation of the Interface Tension in the three-dimensional Ising Model

The interface tension in the three-dimensional Ising model in the low temperature phase is investigated by means of the Monte Carlo method. Together with other physically relevant quantities it is obtained from a calculation of time-slice correlation functions in a cylindrical geometry. The results at three different values of the temperature are compared with the predictions from a semiclassical approximation in the framework of renormalized $ϕ^4$ theory in three dimensions, and are in good agreement with them.

Study of the complex fermion determinant in a $\rm U(1)_L \otimes U(1)_R$ symmetric Yukawa model

Lattice theories that contain chiral multiplets of fermions can have complex fermion determinants. This is for example the case for the $\rm U(1)_L \otimes U(1)_R$ symmetric Yukawa model with mirror fermions, if the number of generations of fermions and mirror fermions is odd. Whether a numerical simulation of such a model is possible depends on the magnitude of fluctuations of the complex phase factor of the fermion determinant. We investigate the fermion determinant of the U(1) Yukawa model with mirror fermions for a physically relevant choice of parameters. The argument of the complex phase turns out to fluctuate only very little and is at most of the order of $2 \cdot 10^{-3}$.
