On the Davey-Stewartson hierarchy: construction by two scalar pseudo-differential operators and compatibility for infinite many flows

The infinite many symmetries of Davey-Stewartson (DS) system are closely connected to the integrable deformations of surfaces in a four-dimensional space. In this paper, we give a direct algorithm to construct the expression of the DS hierarchy by two scalar pseudo-differential operators involving partial derivatives.

On the dispersionless Davey-Stewartson hierarchy: Zakharov-Shabat equations, twistor structure and Lax-Sato formalism

In this paper, we continue the study of the Davey-Stewartson system which is one of the most important$(2+1)$ dimensional integrable models. As we showed in the previous paper, the dDS (dispersionless Davey-Stewartson) system arises from Hamiltonian vector fields Lax pair. A new hierarchy of compatible PDEs defining infinitely many symmetries, which is associated with the dDS system, is defined in this paper. We show that this hierarchy arises from the commutation condition of a particular series of one-parameter Hamiltonian vector fields.

On the dispersionless Davey-Stewartson system: Hamiltonian vector fields Lax pair and relevant nonlinear Riemann-Hilbert problem for dDS-II system

In this paper, the semiclassical limit of Davey-Stewartson systems are studied. It shows that these dispersionless limited integrable systems of hydrodynamic type, which are defined as dDS (dispersionless Davey-Stewartson) systems, are arisen from the commutation condition of Lax pairs of one-parameter vector fields. The relevant nonlinear Riemann-Hilbert problems with some symmetries for the dDS-II system are also constructed. This kind of Riemann-Hilbert problems are meaningful for applying the formal inverse scattering transform method, recently developed by Manakov and Santini, to study the dDS-II system .

The Inverse Spectral Transform for the Dunajski hierarchy and some of its reductions, I: Cauchy problem and longtime behavior of solutions

In this paper we apply the formal Inverse Spectral Transform for integrable dispersionless PDEs arising from the commutation condition of pairs of one-parameter families of vector fields, recently developed by S. V. Manakov and one of the authors, to one distinguished class of equations, the so-called Dunajski hierarchy. We concentrate, for concreteness, i) on the system of PDEs characterizing a general anti-self-dual conformal structure in neutral signature, ii) on its first commuting flow, and iii) on some of their basic and novel reductions. We formally solve their Cauchy problem and we use it to construct the longtime behavior of solutions, showing, in particular, that unlike the case of soliton PDEs, different dispersionless PDEs belonging to the same hierarchy of commuting flows evolve in time in very different ways, exhibiting either a smooth dynamics or a gradient catastrophe at finite time.
