Bounds on OPE Coefficients in 4D Conformal Field Theories

We numerically study the crossing symmetry constraints in 4D CFTs, using previously introduced algorithms based on semidefinite programming. We study bounds on OPE coefficients of tensor operators as a function of their scaling dimension and extend previous studies of bounds on OPE coefficients of conserved vector currents to the product groups SO(N)xSO(M). We also analyze the bounds on the OPE coefficients of the conserved vector currents associated with the groups SO(N), SU(N) and SO(N)xSO(M) under the assumption that in the singlet channel no scalar operator has dimension less than four, namely that the CFT has no relevant deformations. This is motivated by applications in the context of composite Higgs models, where the strongly coupled sector is assumed to be a spontaneously broken CFT with a global symmetry.

Simple and direct communication of dynamical supersymmetry breaking

We present a complete, calculable, and phenomenologically viable model of dynamical supersymmetry breaking. The model is a simple extension of the so called 3-2 model, with gauge group SU(3)xSU(2)xG_SM and the MSSM fields directly coupled to the hidden sector SU(2) vector fields. Sfermion masses are universal, thus solving the supersymmetric flavour problem, and gaugino masses are not suppressed, in fact they are predicted to be of the same order as sfermion masses. Sizeable contributions to the MSSM A-terms can be generated, depending on the size of some free couplings. As a byproduct, we show some properties of a class of models with n pairs of Higgs doublets.

Viable and simplified semi-direct gauge mediation with the 4-1 model

We present a simple and phenomenologically acceptable extension of the 4-1 model of dynamical supersymmetry breaking, in which messengers and MSSM superfields are directly coupled to the hidden sector without participating in the supersymmetry breaking mechanism; although parametrically suppressed by a loop factor, gaugino masses turn out to be comparable to sfermion masses because of the presence of enhancing factors ultimately due to the different origin of the gaugino and the sfermion mass terms. We also describe what can be considered the simplest realization of the Higgs sector and how electroweak symmetry breaking can take place in this model. Finally, in the Appendix, we have listed a set of closed-form expressions for the computation of $A$-terms and soft squared masses of light scalars at the messenger scale in the presence of the most general form of "matter-messenger" couplings, extending in this way some results already known from the literature.

Rigorous Limits on the Interaction Strength in Quantum Field Theory

We derive model-independent, universal upper bounds on the Operator Product Expansion (OPE) coefficients in unitary 4-dimensional Conformal Field Theories. The method uses the conformal block decomposition and the crossing symmetry constraint of the 4-point function. In particular, the OPE coefficient of three identical dimension $d$ scalar primaries is found to be bounded by ~ 10(d-1) for 1<d<1.7. This puts strong limits on unparticle self-interaction cross sections at the LHC.
