Tensor products and perturbations of BiHom-Novikov-Poisson algebras

We study BiHom-Novikov-Poisson algebras, which are twisted generalizations of Novikov-Poisson algebras and Hom-Novikov-Poisson algebras, and find that BiHom-Novikov-Poisson algebras are closed under tensor products and several kinds of perturbations. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given under which BiHom-Novikov-Poisson algebras give rise to BiHom-Poisson algebras.

Twisted algebras and Rota-Baxter type operators

We define the concept of weak pseudotwistor for an algebra $(A, μ)$ in a monoidal category $\mathcal{C}$, as a morphism $T:A\otimes A\rightarrow A\otimes A$ in $\mathcal{C}$, satisfying some axioms ensuring that $(A, μ\circ T)$ is also an algebra in $\mathcal{C}$. This concept generalizes the previous proposal called pseudotwistor and covers a number of exemples of twisted algebras that cannot be covered by pseudotwistors, mainly examples provided by Rota-Baxter operators and some of their relatives (such as Leroux's TD-operators and Reynolds operators). By using weak pseudotwistors, we introduce an equivalence relation (called "twist equivalence") for algebras in a given monoidal category.

BiHom-Associative Algebras, BiHom-Lie Algebras and BiHom-Bialgebras

A BiHom-associative algebra is a (nonassociative) algebra $A$ endowed with two commuting multiplicative linear maps $α,β\colon A\rightarrow A$ such that $α(a)(bc)=(ab)β(c)$, for all $a, b, c\in A$. This concept arose in the study of algebras in so-called group Hom-categories. In this paper, we introduce as well BiHom-Lie algebras (also by using the categorical approach) and BiHom-bialgebras. We discuss these new structures by presenting some basic properties and constructions (representations, twisted tensor products, smash products etc).

Hom-L-R-smash products, Hom-diagonal crossed products and the Drinfeld double of a Hom-Hopf algebra

We introduce the Hom-analogue of the L-R-smash product and use it to define the Hom-analogue of the diagonal crossed product. When H is a finite dimensional Hom-Hopf algebra with bijective antipode and bijective structure map, we define the Drinfeld double of H; its algebra structure is a Hom-diagonal crossed product and it has all expected properties, namely it is quasitriangular and modules over it coincide with left-right Yetter-Drinfeld modules over H.

Twisting operators, twisted tensor products and smash products for Hom-associative algebras

The purpose of this paper is to provide new constructions of Hom-associative algebras using Hom-analogues of certain operators called twistors and pseudotwistors, by deforming a given Hom-associative multiplication into a new Hom-associative multiplication. As examples, we introduce Hom-analogues of the twisted tensor product and smash product. Furthermore we show that the construction by the ''twisting principle'' introduced by Yau and the twisting of associative algebras using pseudotwistors admit a common generalization

Structure theorems for bicomodule algebras over quasi-Hopf algebras, weak Hopf algebras and braided Hopf algebras

Let H be a quasi-Hopf algebra, a weak Hopf algebra or a braided Hopf algebra. Let B be an H-bicomodule algebra such that there exists a morphism of H-bicomodule algebras v:H\rightarrow B. Then we can define an object B^{co(H)} which is a left-left Yetter-Drinfeld module over H, having extra properties that allow to make a smash product B^{co(H)}# H which is an H-bicomodule algebra, isomorphic to B.

Yetter-Drinfeld modules for Hom-bialgebras

The aim of this paper is to define and study Yetter-Drinfeld modules over Hom-bialgebras, a generalized version of bialgebras obtained by modifying the algebra and coalgebra structures by a homomorphism. Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a Hom-bialgebra with bijective structure map provide solutions of the Hom-Yang-Baxter equation. The category $_H^H{\mathcal YD}$ of Yetter-Drinfeld modules with bijective structure maps over a Hom-bialgebra H with bijective structure map can be organized, in two different ways, as a quasi-braided pre-tensor category. If H is quasitriangular (respectively coquasitriangular) the first (respectively second) quasi-braided pre-tensor category $_H^H{\mathcal YD}$ contains, as a quasi-braided pre-tensor subcategory, the category of modules (respectively comodules) with bijective structure maps over H.

Equivalent crossed products and cross product bialgebras

In a previous paper we proved a result of the type "invariance under twisting" for Brzezinski's crossed products. In this paper we prove a converse of this result, obtaining thus a characterization of what we call equivalent crossed products. As an application, we characterize cross product bialgebras (in the sense of Bespalov and Drabant) that are equivalent (in a certain sense) to a given cross product bialgebra in which one of the factors is a bialgebra and whose coalgebra structure is a tensor product coalgebra.

Some (Hopf) algebraic properties of circulant matrices

We study some (Hopf) algebraic properties of circulant matrices, inspired by the fact that the algebra of circulant $n\times n$ matrices is isomorphic to the group algebra of the cyclic group with $n$ elements. We introduce also a class of matrices that generalize both circulant and skew circulant matrices, and for which the eigenvalues and eigenvectors can be read directly from their entries.

Alternative twisted tensor products and Cayley algebras

We introduce what we call "alternative twisted tensor products" for not necessarily associative algebras, as a common generalization of several different constructions: the Cayley-Dickson process, the Clifford process and the twisted tensor product of two associative algebras, one of them being commutative. We show that some very basic facts concerning the Cayley-Dickson process (the equivalence between the two different formulations of it and the lifting of the involution) are particular cases of general results about alternative twisted tensor products of algebras. As a class of examples of alternative twisted tensor products, we introduce a "tripling process" for an algebra endowed with a strong involution, containing the Cayley-Dickson doubling as a subalgebra and sharing some of its basic properties.

Invariance under twisting for crossed products

We prove a result of the type ''invariance under twisting'' for Brzezinski's crossed products, as a common generalization of the invariance under twisting for twisted tensor products of algebras and the invariance under twisting for quasi-Hopf smash products. It turns out that this result contains also as a particular case the equivalence of crossed products by a coalgebra (due to Brzezinski).

L-R-smash products and L-R-twisted tensor products of algebras

We introduce a common generalization of the L-R-smash product and twisted tensor product of algebras, under the name L-R-twisted tensor product of algebras. We investigate some properties of this new construction, for instance we prove a result of the type "invariance under twisting" and we show that under certain circumstances L-R-twisted tensor products of algebras may be iterated.

General twisting of algebras

We introduce the concept of pseudotwistor (with particular cases called twistor and braided twistor) for an algebra $(A, μ, u)$ in a monoidal category, as a morphism $T:A\otimes A\to A\otimes A$ satisfying a list of axioms ensuring that $(A, μ\circ T, u)$ is also an algebra in the category. This concept provides a unifying framework for various deformed (or twisted) algebras from the literature, such as twisted tensor products of algebras, twisted bialgebras and algebras endowed with Fedosov products. Pseudotwistors appear also in other topics from the literature, e.g. Durdevich's braided quantum groups and ribbon algebras. We also focus on the effect of twistors on the universal first order differential calculus, as well as on lifting twistors to braided twistors on the algebra of universal differential forms.
