Published work
Arguments for special emergent vacua which generate fermion and weak boson masses are outlined. Limitations and consequences of the concept are discussed. If confirmed the Australian dipole would give strong support to such a picture. Preliminary support from recent DZero and CDF data is discussed and predictions for LHC are presented.
This writeup is a compilation of the predictions for the forthcoming Heavy Ion Program at the Large Hadron Collider, as presented at the CERN Theory Institute 'Heavy Ion Collisions at the LHC - Last Call for Predictions', held from May 14th to June 10th 2007.
The process of baryon number transfer due to string junction propagation in rapidity space is considered. It leads to a significant effect in the net baryon production in pA collisions at mid-rapidities and an even more significant effect in the forward hemisphere for the cases of πA interactions. The results of numerical calculations in the framework of the Quark-Gluon String Model are in reasonable agreement with the data. Special consideration is given to Λproduced in {π^-}-A collisions extracted from data of WA89 Collaboration.
