We show that for any $n\geq5$ there exist connected algebraic subgroups in the Cremona group $\mathrm{Bir}(\mathbb{P}^n)$ that are not contained in any maximal connected algebraic subgroup. Our approach exploits the existence of stably rational, non-rational threefolds.
We show that a divisor in a rational homogenous variety with split normal sequence is the preimage of a hyperplane section in either the projective space or a quadric.
Let $f \colon (X,Δ) \to Y$ be a fibration such that $K_X + Δ$ is torsion along the fibres of $f$. Assume that $Y$ has dimension 2, or that $Y$ has dimension 3 and the fibres have dimension at most 3. Then the restriction of the moduli part to its augmented base locus is semiample.

Let $α$ be a big class on a compact Kähler manifold. We prove that a decomposition $α=α_1+α_2$ into the sum of a modified nef class $α_1$ and a pseudoeffective class $α_2$ is the divisorial Zariski decomposition of $α$ if and only if $\operatorname{vol}(α)=\operatorname{vol}(α_1)$. We deduce from this result some properties of full mass currents.
We show that if $(X_t,\mathcal{F}_t)_t$ is a family of foliations with reduced singularities on a smooth family of surfaces, then invariance of plurigenera holds for sufficiently large $m$. On the other hand, we provide examples on which the result fails, for small values of $m$.

In this work we study the moduli part in the canonical bundle formula of an lc-trivial fibration whose generic fibre is a rational curve. In particular we find a bound for the denominators of the discriminant and the moduli divisor.
Let X be a Fano manifold of dimension n and index n-3. Kawamata proved the non vanishing of the global sections of the fundamental divisor in the case n=4. Moreover he proved that if Y is a general element of the fundamental system then Y has at most canonical singularities. We prove a generalization of this result in arbitrary dimension.
It has been conjectured by Prokhorov and Shokurov that the moduli part in the canonical bundle formula is effectively b-semiample. In this work we reduce this conjecture to the case where the base of the fibration has dimension one. Moreover, in the case where the moduli part M is numerically trivial, we prove the existence of an integer m, that depends only on the middle Betti number of a canonical covering of the fibre, such that mM is linearly equivalent to the trivial bundle.
