Associating Geometry to the Lie Superalgebra $\mathfrak{sl}(1|1)$ and to the Color Lie Algebra $\mathfrak{sl}^c_2(\Bbbk)$

In the 1990s, in work of Le Bruyn and Smith and in work of Le Bruyn and Van den Bergh, it was proved that point modules and line modules over the homogenization of the universal enveloping algebra of a finite-dimensional Lie algebra describe useful data associated to the Lie algebra. In particular, in the case of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$, there is a correspondence between Verma modules and certain line modules that associates a pair $(\mathfrak{h},\,ϕ)$, where $\mathfrak{h}$ is a two-dimensional Lie subalgebra of $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$ and $ϕ\in \mathfrak{h}^*$ satisfies $ϕ([\mathfrak{h}, \, \mathfrak{h}]) = 0$, to a particular type of line module. In this article, we prove analogous results for the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{sl}(1|1)$ and for a color Lie algebra associated to the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2$.

Automorphisms and derivations of the insertion-elimination algebra and related graded Lie algebras

This paper addresses several structural aspects of the insertion-elimination algebra, a Lie algebra that can be realized in terms of tree-inserting and tree-eliminating operations on the set of rooted trees. In particular, we determine the finite-dimensional subalgebras, the automorphism group, the derivation group, and a generating set for the insertion-elimination Lie algebra. Many parts of the results are stated for a more general class of Lie algebras and reproduce results for the generalized Virasoro algebras.

Whittaker modules for the insertion-elimination Lie algebra

This paper addresses the representation theory of the insertion-elimination Lie algebra, a Lie algebra that can be naturally realized in terms of tree-inserting and tree-eliminating operations on rooted trees. The insertion-elimination algebra admits a triangular decomposition in the sense of Moody and Pianzola, and thus it is natural to define a Whittaker module corresponding to a given algebra homomorphism. Among other results, we show that the standard Whittaker module is simple given certain constraints on the corresponding algebra homomorphism.

Whittaker categories and strongly typical Whittaker modules for Lie superalgebras

Following analogous constructions for Lie algebras, we define Whittaker modules and Whittaker categories for finite-dimensional simple Lie superalgebras. Results include a decomposition of Whittaker categories for a Lie superalgebra according to the action of an appropriate sub-superalgebra; and, for basic classical Lie superalgebras of type I, a description of the strongly typical simple Whittaker modules.

Whittaker categories for the Virasoro algebra

This paper builds on earlier work, where the authors described Whittaker modules for the Virasoro algebra. Using a framework of Batra and Mazorchuk, the current paper investigates a category of Virasoro algebra modules that includes Whittaker modules. Results in this paper include a classification of the simple modules in the category and a description of certain induced modules that are a natural generalization of simple Whittaker modules.

Category $\mathcal O$ for the Virasoro algebra: Cohomology and Koszulity

We investigate blocks of the Category $\mathcal O$ for the Virasoro algebra over the complex numbers. We demonstrate that the blocks have Kazhdan-Lusztig theories, and that the truncated blocks give rise to interesting Koszul algebras. The simple modules have BGG resolutions, and from this we compute the extensions between Verma modules and simple modules, and between pairs of simple modules.
