Friedmann equations and emergence of cosmic space

In this paper, we show that Padmanabhan's conjecture for the emergence of cosmic space [arXiv:1206.4916] holds for the flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe in Einstein gravity but does not hold for the non-flat case unless one uses the aerial volume instead of the proper volume. Doing this, we also show that various works extending Padmanabhan's conjecture to non-Einstein and non-flat cases have serious shortfalls. This analysis is done using the Friedmann equation with the further assumptions of the holographic principle and the equipartition rule of energy.

Nonextremal Kerr/CFT on a stretched horizon

We study the conformal symmetry described by $SL(2,R)_L \times SL(2,R)_R$ in the nonextremal Kerr black hole case. We calculate the central charges $c_{L,R}$ separately on a stretched horizon by the Hamiltonian gravity. In order to get two sets of conformal symmetry, we consider two Killing vectors each of which depends on either one of the two independent coordinates separated in the spirit of point-splitting from the angular coordinate of the corotating frame at the horizon. Then, we obtain the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy by the Cardy formula.

Consistent bilinear Wess-Zumino term for open AdS superstring

We consider the open superstring action in AdS_5 x S^5 background with the bilinear Wess-Zumino term, which has been modified in such a way that a certain total derivative term is absent, and give the covariant description of supersymmetric D-branes. We show that the modification of bilinear Wess-Zumino term is necessary to describe correctly the 1/2-BPS D(-1)-brane in AdS_5 x S^5 background, while the classification of other supersymmetric D-branes does not depend on such modification.

Fermionic T-duality and Morita Equivalence

In this paper we investigate the relationship between the so-called fermionic T-duality and the Morita equivalence of noncommutative supertori. We first get an action satisfying the BRST invariance under nonvanishing constant R-R and NS-NS backgrounds in the hybrid formalism. We investigate the effect of bosonic T-duality transformation together with fermionic T-duality transformation in this background and look for the resultant symmetry of transformations. We find that the duality transformations correspond to Morita equivalence of noncommutative supertori. In particular, we obtain the symmetry group $SO(2,2,{\cal V}_{\Z}^0)$ in two dimensions, where ${\cal V}_{\Z}^0$ denotes Grassmann even number whose body part belongs to ${\Z}$.

Morita Equivalence of Noncommutative Supertori

In this paper we study the extension of Morita equivalence of noncommutative tori to the supersymmetric case. The structure of the symmetry group yielding Morita equivalence appears to be intact but its parameter field becomes supersymmetrized having both body and soul parts. Our result is mainly in the two dimensional case in which noncommutative supertori have been constructed recently: The group $SO(2,2,V_{\Z}^0)$, where $V_{\Z}^0$ denotes Grassmann even number whose body part belongs to ${\Z}$, yields Morita equivalent noncommutative supertori in two dimensions.

Noncommutative Solitonic Black Hole

We investigate solitonic black hole solutions in three dimensional noncommutative spacetime. We do this in gravity with negative cosmological constant coupled to a scalar field. Noncommutativity is realized with the Moyal product which is expanded up to first order in the noncommutativity parameter in two spatial directions. With numerical simulation we study the effect of noncommutativity by increasing the value of the noncommutativity parameter starting from commutative solutions. We find that even a regular soliton solution in the commutative case becomes a black hole solution when the noncommutativity parameter reaches a certain value.

Schwarzschild-de Sitter black hole from entropic viewpoint

In a Schwarzschild-de Sitter space, we consider an equipotential surface which consists of two holographic screens. Adapting the Bousso-Hawking's reference point of vanishing force, we divide the space into two regions, which are from the reference point to each holographic screen. These two regions can be treated as independent thermodynamical systems, because the Bousso-Hawking reference point with zero temperature behaves like a thermally insulating wall. The entropy obtained in this way agrees with the conventional results; i) when the holographic screens lie at the black hole and cosmological horizons, ii) in the Nariai limit.

Noncommutative Relativistic U(N) Chern-Simons Solitons

We investigate BPS soliton solutions of U(N) Chern-Simons gauge theory coupled to a scalar field in noncommutative plane. With a scalar field in the fundamental representation, we show that the BPS equation becomes that of abelian Chern-Simons theory in the unitary gauge. We also find a class of particular solutions for the BPS equation with scalar field in the adjoint representation.

Noncommutative Supertori in Two Dimensions

First we consider the deformations of superspaces with N=(1,1) and N=(2,2) supersymmetries in two dimensions. Among these the construction of noncommutative supertorus with odd spin structure is possible only in the case of N=(2,2) supersymmetry broken down to N=(1,1). However, for the even spin structures the construction of noncommutative supertorus is possible for both N=(1,1) and N=(2,2) cases. The spin structures are realized by implementing the translational properties along the cycles of commutative supertorus in the operator version: Odd spin structure is realized by the translation in the fermionic direction in the same manner as in the construction of noncommutative torus, and even spin structures are realized with appropriate versions of the spin angular momentum operator.

Symmetry of Quantum Torus with Crossed Product Algebra

In this paper, we study the symmetry of quantum torus with the concept of crossed product algebra. As a classical counterpart, we consider the orbifold of classical torus with complex structure and investigate the transformation property of classical theta function. An invariant function under the group action is constructed as a variant of the classical theta function. Then our main issue, the crossed product algebra representation of quantum torus with complex structure under the symplectic group is analyzed as a quantum version of orbifolding. We perform this analysis with Manin's so-called model II quantum theta function approach. The symplectic group Sp(2n,Z) satisfies the consistency condition of crossed product algebra representation. However, only a subgroup of Sp(2n,Z) satisfies the consistency condition for orbifolding of quantum torus.

Quantum Entanglement under Lorentz Boost

In order to understand the characteristics of quantum entanglement of massive particles under Lorentz boost, we first introduce a relevant relativistic spin observable, and evaluate its expectation values for the Bell states under Lorentz boost. Then we show that maximal violation of the Bell's inequality can be achieved by properly adjusting the directions of the spin measurement even in a relativistically moving inertial frame. Based on this we infer that the entanglement information is preserved under Lorentz boost as a form of correlation information determined by the transformation characteristic of the Bell state in use.
