Ab initio effective interactions for sd-shell valence nucleons

We perform \textit{ab initio} no-core shell-model calculations for A=18A=18 and 1919 nuclei in a 4ℏΩ4\hbarΩ, or Nmax=4N_{\rm max}=4, model space by using the effective JISP16 and chiral N3LO nucleon-nucleon potentials and transform the many-body effective Hamiltonians into the 0ℏΩ0\hbarΩ model space to construct the AA-body effective Hamiltonians in the sdsd-shell. We separate the AA-body effective Hamiltonians with A=18A=18 and A=19A=19 into inert core, one-, and two-body components. Then, we use these core, one-, and two-body components to perform standard shell-model calculations for the A=18A=18 and A=19A=19 systems with valence nucleons restricted to the sdsd shell. Finally, we compare the standard shell-model results in the 0ℏΩ0\hbarΩ model space with the exact no-core shell model results in the 4ℏΩ4\hbarΩ model space for the A=18A=18 and A=19A=19 systems and find good agreement.

Fitting Single Particle Energies in sdghsdgh Major Shell

We have performed two kinds of non-linear fitting procedures to the single-particle energies in the sdghsdgh major shell to obtain better shell model results. The low-lying energy eigenvalues of the light Sn isotopes with A=103−110A=103-110 in the sdghsdgh-shell are calculated in the framework of the nuclear shell model by using CD-Bonn two-body effective nucleon-nucleon interaction. The obtained energy eigenvalues are fitted to the corresponding experimental values by using two different non-linear fitting procedures, i.e., downhill simplex method and clonal selection method. The unknown single-particle energies of the states 2s1/22s_{1/2}, 1d3/21d_{3/2}, and 0h11/20h_{11/2} are used in the fitting methods to obtain better spectra of the 104,106,108,110^{104,106,108,110}Sn isotopes. We compare the energy spectra of the 104,106,108,110^{104,106,108,110}Sn and 103,105,107,109^{103,105,107,109}Sn isotopes with/without a nonlinear fit to the experimental results.
