In this paper we introduce a new method to produce lower bounds for the Waring rank of symmetric tensors. We also introduce the notion of e-computability and we use it to prove that Strassen's Conjecture holds in infinitely many new cases.
Given a collection of l general lines ℓ1,…,ℓl in $\pr^2$, the star configuration $\XX(l)$ is the set of points constructed from all pairwise intersections of these lines. For each non-negative integer d, we compute the dimension of the family of curves of degree d that contain a star configuration.
In this work we propose a fully-discrete Semi-Lagrangian scheme for a {\it first order mean field game system}. We prove that the resulting discretization admits at least one solution and, in the scalar case, we prove a convergence result for the scheme. Numerical simulations and examples are also discussed.
In this paper we consider a generalization of a well known result by Veronese about rational normal curves. More precisely, given a collection of linear spaces in $\PP^n$ we study the existence of rational normal curves intersecting each component of the configuration maximally. We introduce different methods to show existence and non-existence of such curves. We also show how to apply these techniques to the study of defectivity of Segre-Veronese varieties.
