Filtering Homogeneous Observer for MIMO System

Homogeneous observer for linear multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system is designed. A prefilter of the output is utilized in order to improve robustness of the observer with respect to measurement noises. The use of such a prefilter also simplifies tuning, since the observer gains in this case are parameterized by a linear matrix inequality (LMI) being always feasible for observable system. In particular case, the observer is shown to be applicable in the presence of the state and the output bounded perturbations. Theoretical results are supported by numerical simulations.

Consistent discretization of finite/fixed-time controllers

The paper proposes an algorithm for a discretization (sampled-time implementation) of a homogeneous control preserving the finite-time and nearly fixed-time stability property of the original (sampling-free) system. The sampling period is assumed to be constant. Both single-input and multiple-input cases are considered. The robustness (Input-to-State Stability) of the obtained sampled-time control system is studied as well. Theoretical results are supported by numerical simulations.

Stability analysis and stabilization of systems with hyperexponential rates

Hyperexponential stability is investigated for dynamical systems with the use of both, explicit and implicit, Lyapunov function methods. A nonlinear hyperexponential control is designed for stabilizing linear systems. The tuning procedure is formalized in LMI form. Through numeric experiments, it is observed that the proposed hyperexponential control is less sensitive with respect to noises and discretization errors than its finite-time analog. It also demonstrates better performance in the presence of delays as well. Theoretical results are supported by numerical simulations.

Robust-Adaptive Interval Predictive Control for Linear Uncertain Systems

We consider the problem of stabilization of a linear system, under state and control constraints, and subject to bounded disturbances and unknown parameters in the state matrix. First, using a simple least square solution and available noisy measurements, the set of admissible values for parameters is evaluated. Second, for the estimated set of parameter values and the corresponding linear interval model of the system, two interval predictors are recalled and an unconstrained stabilizing control is designed that uses the predicted intervals. Third, to guarantee the robust constraint satisfaction, a model predictive control algorithm is developed, which is based on solution of an optimization problem posed for the interval predictor. The conditions for recursive feasibility and asymptotic performance are established. Efficiency of the proposed control framework is illustrated by numeric simulations.

State Observation of LTV Systems with Delayed Measurements: A Parameter Estimation-based Approach

In this paper we address the problem of state observation of linear time-varying systems with delayed measurements, which has attracted the attention of many researchers|see [7] and references therein. We show that, adopting the parameter estimationbased approach proposed in [3,4], we can provide a very simple solution to the problem with reduced prior knowledge.

Moment Matching Based Model Reduction for LPV State-Space Models

We present a novel algorithm for reducing the state dimension, i.e. order, of linear parameter varying (LPV) discrete-time state-space (SS) models with affine dependence on the scheduling variable. The input-output behavior of the reduced order model approximates that of the original model. In fact, for input and scheduling sequences of a certain length, the input-output behaviors of the reduced and original model coincide. The proposed method can also be interpreted as a reachability and observability reduction (minimization) procedure for LPV-SS representations with affine dependence.

Uniting Control for Finite Time Stabilization of Nonlinear Detectable Systems

The stabilization of nonlinear systems under zero-state-detectability assumption or its analogues is considered. The proposed supervisory control provides a finite time practical stabilization of output and it is based on uniting local and global controllers. The global control ensures boundedness of solutions and output convergence to zero, while local one ensures finite time convergence to a predefined set into the zero dynamics set. Computer simulation illustrates advantages of the proposed algorithm.

Adaptive Set Observers Design for Nonlinear Continuous-Time Systems: Application to Fault Detection and Diagnosis

The paper deals with joint state and parameter estimation for nonlinear continuous-time systems. Based on a guaranteed LPV approximation, the set adaptive observers design problem is solved avoiding the exponential complexity obstruction usually met in the set-membership parameter estimation. Potential application to fault diagnosis is considered. The efficacy of the proposed set adaptive observers is demonstrated on several examples.
