A Comparative Study of Various Distance Measures for Software fault prediction

Different distance measures have been used for efficiently predicting software faults at early stages of software development. One stereotyped approach for software fault prediction due to its computational efficiency is K-means clustering, which partitions the dataset into K number of clusters using any distance measure. Distance measures by using some metrics are used to extract similar data objects which help in developing efficient algorithms for clustering and classification. In this paper, we study K-means clustering with three different distance measures Euclidean, Sorensen and Canberra by using datasets that have been collected from NASA MDP (metrics data program) .Results are displayed with the help of ROC curve. The experimental results shows that K-means clustering with Sorensen distance is better than Euclidean distance and Canberra distance.

Probing the effect of different cross-sections in asymmetric collisions

We present a complete systematic theoretical study of multifragmentation for asymmetric colliding nuclei for heavy-ion reactions in the energy range between 50 MeV/nucleon and 1000 MeV/nucleon by using isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) model. We have observed an interesting outcome for asymmetric colliding nuclei. The comparison between the symmetric and asymmetric colliding nuclei for the isospin independent cross section and isospin dependent cross section has been studied. We have found the pronounced effect of different cross section and mass asymmetry on the nuclear reaction dynamics.

To Study the effects of isospin cross section on mass asymmetric nuclear reactions

We studied the effect of cross section on mass asymmetric systems. The mass asymmetry of a reaction can be defined by the asymmetry parameter η = |(AT - AP)/(AT + AP)|; [1] where AT and AP are the masses of the target and projectile, respectively. The η = 0 corresponds to the symmetric reactions, whereas non-zero values of η define different asymmetries of a reaction. Reactions include 208Pb82 + 208Pb82 having η = 0, 40Ca20 + 208Pb82 having η = 0.6 and 12C6 + 197Au79 having η = 0.8 This work has been carried out within the frame work of isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) model.
