Nonlocality of three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-symmetric states

Mixed states appear naturally in experiment over pure states. So for studying different notions of nonlocality and their relation with entanglement in realistic scenarios, one needs to consider mixed states. In a recent article [Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{108}, 020502 (2012)], a complete characterization of entanglement of an entire class of mixed three qubit states with the same symmetry as Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state known as GHZ-symmetric states, has been achieved. In this paper we investigate different notions of nonlocality of the same class of states. By finding the analytical expressions of maximum violation value of most efficient Bell inequalities we obtain the conditions of standard nonlocality and genuine nonlocality of this class of states. Also relation between entanglement and nonlocality is discussed for this class of states. Interestingly, genuine entanglement of GHZ-symmetric states is necessary to reveal standard nonlocality. However, it is not sufficient to exploit the same.

Persistency of Genuine Correlations Under Particle Loss

In a recent work [\href{http://journals.aps.org/pra/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevA.86.042113}{Phys. Rev. A 86, 042113 (2012)}] the question of persistency of entanglement and nonlocality of multi-party systems under particle loss has been addressed. This question is of immense importance considering the practical realization of the information theoretic tasks which make use of the power of quantum correlations. But in multipartite scenario more interesting cases arise since subsystems can also possess genuineness in correlation which is prevalently inequivalent to the bipartite scenario. In this work, we investigate the persistency of such genuine correlations under particle loss. Keeping in mind the practical importance, considerable attention has been devoted to find the multipartite states which exhibit maximal persistency of genuine correlations.

Revealing Hidden Genuine Tripartite Nonlocality

Nonlocal correlations arising from measurements on tripartite entangled states can be classified into two groups, one genuinely $3-$way nonlocal and other local with respect to some bipartition. Still, whether a genuinely tripartite entangled quantum state can exhibit genuine $3-$way nonlocality, remains a challenging problem so far as measurement context is concerned. Here we introduce a novel approach in this regard. We consider three tripartite quantum states none of which is genuinely $3-$way nonlocal in a specific Bell scenario (three parties, two measurements per party, two outcomes per measurement), but they can exhibit genuine $3-$way nonlocality when the initial states are subjected to stochastic local operations and classical communication (SLOCC). So, genuine $3-$way nonlocality is a resource, which can be revealed by using a sequence of measurements.

Correlations In n-local Scenario

Recently Bell-type inequalities were introduced in Phys. Rev. A \textbf{85}, 032119 (2012) to analyze the correlations emerging in an entanglement swapping scenario characterized by independence of the two sources shared between three parties. The corresponding scenario was referred to as \textit{bilocal} scenario. Here, we derive Bell-type inequalities in $n+1$ party scenario, i.e., in $n$-local scenario. Considering the two different cases with several number of inputs and outputs, we derive local and $n$-local bounds. The $n$-local inequality studied for two cases are proved to be tight. Replacing the sources by maximally entangled states for two binary inputs and two binary outputs and also for the fixed input and four outputs, we observe quantum violations of $n$-local bounds. But the resistance offered to noise cannot be increased as compared to the bilocal scenario. Thus increasing the number of parties in a linear fashion in source independent scenario does not contribute in lowering down the requirements of revealing quantumness in a network in contrast to the star configuration (Phys. Rev. A \textbf{90}, 062109 (2014)) of $n+1$ parties.

Effect of local filtering on Freezing Phenomena of Quantum Correlation

General quantum correlations measures like quantum discord, one norm geometric quantum discord, exhibit freezing, sudden change, double sudden change behavior in their decay rates under different noisy channels. Therefore, one may attempt to investigate how the freezing behavior and other dynamical features are affected under application of local quantum operations. In this work, we demonstrate the effect of local filtering on the dynamical evolution of quantum correlations. We have found that using local filtering one may remove freezing depending upon the filtering parameter.

Efficient Test to Demonstrate Genuine Three Particle Nonlocality

According to the studies of genuine tripartite nonlocality in discrete variable quantum systems conducted so far, Svetlichny inequality is considered as the best Bell-type inequality to detect genuine (three way) nonlocality of pure tripartite genuine entangled states. In the present work, we have considered another Bell-type inequality (which has been reported as the $99$-th facet of $NS_2$ local polytope in (J.-D. Bancal, et.al.,Phys. Rev.A \textbf{88}, 014102 (2013)), to reveal genuine tripartite nonlocality of generalized GHZ(Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger) class and a subclass of extended GHZ class states(\cite{ACN}) thereby proving the conjecture given by Bancal, et.al.\cite{BAL} for the GGHZ class and the subclass of extended GHZ states. We compare the violation of this inequality with Svetlichny inequality which reveals the efficiency of the former inequality over the latter to demonstrate genuine nonlocality using the above classes of quantum states. Even in some cases discord monogamy score can be used as a better measure of quantum correlation over Svetlichny inequality for those classes of pure states. Besides, the $99$-th facet inequality is found efficient not only for revealing genuine nonlocal behavior of correlations emerging in systems using pure entangled states but also in some cases of mixed entangled states over Svetlichny inequality and some well known measures of entanglement .

Decoherence Dynamics of Measurement-Induced Nonlocality and comparison with Geometric Discord for two qubit systems

We check the decoherence dynamics of Measurement-induced Nonlocality(in short, MIN) and compare it with geometric discord for two qubit systems. There are quantum states, on which the action of dephasing channel cannot destroy MIN in finite or infinite time. We check the additive dynamics of MIN on a qubit state under two independent noise. Geometric discord also follows such additive dynamics like quantum discord. We have further compared non-Markovian evolution of MIN and geometric discord under dephasing and amplitude damping noise for pure state and it shows distinct differences between their dynamics.

Local Quantum Uncertainty and Bounds on Quantumness for Orthogonally invariant class of states

Local quantum uncertainty (in short LQU) was introduced by Girolami et. al.(Phy. Rev. Lett. \textbf{110}, 240402) as a measure of quantum uncertainty in a quantum state as achievable on single local measurement. However, such quantity do satisfy all necessary criteria to serve as measure of discord like quantum correlation and it has no closed formula except only for $2\otimes n$ system. Here, we consider orthogonal invariant class of states which includes both the Werner and Isotropic class of states and explore the possibility of closed form formula. Further, we extend our quest to the possibility of closed form of geometric discord and measurement induced nonlocality for this class. We also provide a comparative study of the bounds of general quantum correlations with entanglement, as measured by negativity, for an interesting subclass of states.

Monogamy of Measurement Induced Non-Locality

Measurement-Induced NonLocality was introduced by Luo and Fu (Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{106}, 120401,(2011)) as a measure of nonlocality in a bipartite state. In this paper we will discuss monogamy property of measurement-induced nonlocality for some three- and four-qubit classes of states. Unlike discord, we find quite surprising results in this situation. Both the GHZ and W states satisfy monogamy relations in the three-qubit case, however, in general there are violations of monogamy relations in both the GHZ-class and W-class states. In case of four-qubit system, monogamy holds for most of the states in the generic class. Four qubit GHZ does not satisfy monogamy relation, but W-state does. We provide several numerical results including counterexamples regarding monogamy nature of measurement induced nonlocality. We will also extend our results of generalized W-class to n-qubit.

One Sided indeterminism alone is not a useful resource to simulate any nonlocal correlation

Determinism, no signaling and measurement independence are some of the constraints required for framing Bell inequality. Any model simulating nonlocal correlations must either individually or jointly give up these constraints. Recently M. J. W. Hall (Phys Review A, \textbf{84}, 022102 (2011)) derived different forms of Bell inequalities under the assumption of individual or joint relaxation of those constraints on both(i.e., two) the sides of a bipartite system. In this work we have investigated whether one sided relaxation can also be a useful resource for simulating nonlocal correlations or not. We have derived Bell-type inequalities under the assumption of joint relaxation of these constraints only by one party of a bipartite system. Interestingly we found that any amount of randomness in correlations of one party in absence of signaling between two parties is incapable of showing any sort of Bell-CHSH violation whereas signaling and measurement dependence individually can simulate any nonlocal correlations. We have also completed the proof of a recent conjecture due to Hall (Phys. Rev. A \textbf{82}, 062117 (2010); Phys. Rev. A \textbf{84}, 022102 (2011)) for one sided relaxation scenario only.

Simulating GHZ Correlations Relaxing Physical Constraints

Violation of Bell inequality (or, Bell-type inequalities) by nonlocal correlations is justified by relaxation of at least one of the plausible physical constraints used to model such inequality. Based on this fact, in this letter we present a procedure to simulate three-qubit GHZ correlation relaxing two constraints, determinism and no signaling simultaneously. We have also derived the minimum amount of indeterminism and signaling to be introduced in a system. The corresponding number of signaling and local bits of mutual information needed to communicate are also provided and thus we are able to focus on utility of relaxation of these two constraints as useful resources.

Character of superposed states under deterministic LOCC

In this paper we investigate the effect of superposition of states on local conversion of pure bipartite states under deterministic LOCC. We are able to form a bridge between comparable and incomparable classes of states through the linear superposition of states. For example, if we consider two pairs of incomparable states, then their superposition may result into a comparable pair of states. We investigate many such cases and provide some of the results in tabular form. We also investigate the entanglement behavior of such classes of states, specifically their monotone nature. Finally we provide some bounds of different measures of entanglement based on the idea of comparability and incomparability under deterministic LOCC.

Entanglement teleportation via Bell Mixture

We investigate the teleportation of the bipartite entangled states through two equally noisy quantum channels, namely mixture of Bell states. There is a particular mixed state channel for which all pure entanglement in a known Schmidt basis remain entangled after teleportation and it happens till the channel state remains entangled. Werner state channel lacks both these features. The relation of these noisy channels with violation of Bell's inequality and 2-E inequality is studied.

Realization of Optimal Disentanglement by Teleportation via Separable Channel

We discuss here the best disentanglement processes of states of two two-level systems which belong to (i) the universal set, (ii) the set in which the states of one party lie on a single great circle of the Bloch sphere, and (iii) the set in which the states of one party commute with each other, by teleporting the states of one party (on which the disentangling machine is acting) through three particular type of separable channels, each of which is a mixture of Bell states. In the general scenario, by teleporting one party's state of an arbitrary entangled state of two two-level parties through some mixture of Bell states, we have shown that this entangled state can be made separable by using a physically realizable map $\tilde{V}$, acting on one party's states, if $\tilde{V} (I) = I, \tilde{V} (σ_j) = λ_j σ_j$, where $λ_j \ge 0$ (for $j = 1, 2, 3$), and $λ_1 + λ_2 + λ_3 \le 1$.

Entanglement Teleportation Through Cat-like States

We first consider teleportation of entangled states shared between Claire and Alice to Bob1 and Bob2 when Alice and the two Bobs share a single copy of a GHZ-class state and where {\it all} the four parties are at distant locations. We then generalize this situation to the case of teleportation of entangled states shared between Claire1, Claire2, ....., Claire(N-1) and Alice to Bob1, Bob2, ....., BobN when Alice and the N Bobs share a single copy of a Cat-like state and where again {\it all} the 2N parties are at distant locations.

Teleporting Noncommuting Qubits Require Maximal Entanglement

Very recently, it was shown by Ghosh, Kar, Roy and Sen (\emph{Entanglement vs. Noncommutativity in Teleportation}, quant-ph/0010012) that if it is \emph{a priori} known that the state to be teleported is from a commuting set of qubits, a separable channel is sufficient. We show that 1 ebit of entanglement is a necessary resource to teleport a qubit even when it is known to be one of two noncommuting states.
