Charmed and beautiful baryonic systems (hypernuclei) in chiral soliton models

The binding energies of baryonic systems with quantum number charm or beauty and neutron excess (or large isospin) are estimated within the bound state version of the chiral topological soliton model. The procedure of the skyrmion rescaling is applied which is of importance for large enough flavor excitation energies (for heavy flavors). Inclusion of the flavor excitation energies into the minimization of the total mass of the baryonic state naturally leads to its decrease, and this effect increases with increasing flavor mass. Our results concerning the binding energies turned out to be partly negative.

$Σ^-$ admixture in the $^{10}_Λ$Li hypernucleus with a repulsive $Σ$-nucleus potential

$Σ^-$ hyperon component of the $^{10}_Λ$Li wave function is studied. The $Σ^-$ admixture is vital for production of neutron-rich $Λ$ hypernuclei via mesonic beams. We use a simplified shell model wave function for the $Λ$ channel and calculate the $Σ^-$ admixture directly from coupled equations. Probability of the $Σ^-$ admixture for realistic repulsive $Σ^-$-nucleus potentials is less by several times than that for attractive potentials and does not exceed $0.1\%$. We conclude that the cross sections of the $^{10}\mbox{B}(π^-,K^+){}^{10}_Λ\mbox{Li}$ reaction measured at KEK cannot be explained by production via $Σ^-$ admixture as a doorway state.

Phenomenological model for the Kbar N --> K Xi reaction

A phenomenological model for the Kbar N --> K Xi reaction is suggested. The model includes s and u channel exchanges by Lambda, Sigma, Sigma(1385), and Lambda(1520) and s channel exchanges by above-threshold hyperonic resonances. Explicit expression for the propagator for a particle with spin 7/2 is presented. High-mass and high-spin resonances play a significant role in the process. We deal with the whole set of existing experimental data on the cross sections and polarizations in the energy range from the threshold to 2.8 GeV in the center-of-mass system and reach a good agreement with experiments. Applications of the model to other elementary reactions of Xi production and to Xi hypernuclear spectroscopy are briefly discussed.

$A$--Dependence of $ΛΛ$ Bond Energies in Double---$Λ$ Hypernuclei

The $A$-dependence of the bond energy $ΔB_{ΛΛ}$ of the ${ΛΛ}$ hypernuclear ground states is calculated in a three-body ${Λ+ Λ+ {^{A}Z}}$ model and in the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock approach. Various ${ΛΛ}$ and $Λ$-nucleus or ${ΛN}$ potentials are used and the sensitivity of $ΔB_{ΛΛ}$ to the interactions is discussed. It is shown that in medium and heavy ${ΛΛ}$ hypernuclei, $ΔB_{ΛΛ}$ is a linear function of $r_Λ^{-3}$, where $r_Λ$ is rms radius of the hyperon orbital. It looks unlikely that it will be possible to extract ${ΛΛ}$ interaction from the double-$Λ$ hypernuclear energies only, the additional information about the $Λ$-core interaction, in particular, on $r_Λ$ is needed.
